In this guide, discover unique venues based on wedding styles, including modern, rustic, traditional and eclectic. Arkansas proudly offers a variety of options from upscale to casual. It is also home to one of the most beloved wedding locations in the country, Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs. This E. Fay Jones masterpiece consistently receives honors and accolades, recently ranking second on a list of 22 Coolest Places to Get Married in America and among 12 of the Most Beautiful Churches in America. In addition to wedding venues, there are honeymoon ideas based on the activities you may like to do as a couple. This is your time to celebrate, unwind and enjoy each other.

By choosing Arkansas as your wedding and honeymoon destination, you are, in a way, putting down roots here. timeless traditions Rustic, casual ceremonies are currently on trend, but traditional weddings are always in style. While there are many breathtakingly beautiful chapels to choose from, keep in mind that a traditional wedding doesn’t necessarily have to take place in a church. cres upon acres of pastoral land surround Marlsgate Plantation, the epitome of Old South opulence. Part of its charm lies in its historic location. On the drive from Little Rock to Scott, the old highway is lined with tall cornstalks and dotted with tufts of cotton. Sunlight streaks through antique pecan groves. At the center of the former Dortch Plantation overlooking Bearskin Lake stands Marlsgate, which served as the primary residence of the successful farming family for three generations.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Marlsgate is now the private home of David Garner Jr., who meticulously maintains the estate and manages a full staff. Designed as a series of distinct “rooms,” the artfully sculpted gardens inspire endless photo opportunities. Marlsgate will captivate your imagination and allow the wedding of your dreams to take root.

In 1885, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Short moved to Helena from Mobile, Ala., to open a branch of the Howell Cotton Company of Little Rock. In 1888, Short started his own cotton business, which grew to become the largest in the region. A few years later, W.A. Short built the home that now stands as the Edwardian Inn.

Villa Marre, Little Rock Located in the historic Quapaw Quarter, the Villa Marre is a Little Rock landmark. The home was built in 1881 in the Second Empire style with Italianate influences to honor the Italian heritage of its owners, Angelo and Jennie Marre. The Villa Marre rose to fame as the offices of the Sugarbaker Design Firm on the long-running TV show “Designing Women” and now hosts traditional weddings.

LaVada’s, North Little Rock Long referred to as the “Kaczka House,” Stanislaus and Angela Kaczka built the home in 1913 and raised eight children there. The last surviving daughter, Maria Kaczka Bargiel, sold the home to Ernie and Kay Alonzo who restored and expanded it, respecting the Victorian style and keeping family ties, renaming it after Kay’s grandmother, LaVada Johnson. It now serves as an elegant venue for weddings with up to 150 guests.

Opt for a self-guided tour and take your time getting acquainted with some of Turpentine Creek’s big cats. 3. Get the true “safari experience” and stay in one of Turpentine Creek’s cabins. 4. Hobbit caves, featuring grotto Jacuzzis, softly lit living areas and private courtyards keep guests close to the “shire.” 5. 17th-century facades, aged stone walls, secret passages, glowing fireplaces and a tower Jacuzzi make Eureka Springs’ castles truly magical.

isitors to Turpentine Creek will enjoy sweeping views of the Ozark Mountains and up-close encounters with cougars, lions, tigers and bears (oh my!). The refuge offers a variety of accommodations, including two bed and breakfast rooms, a treehouse, a safari lodge, five cabins and RV sites. For those who enjoy wildlife photography and want a particularly special memento, the refuge offers a personalized photography excursion that allows participants to closely, yet safely, capture lions, tigers and cougars on film.

Fairy tales spring to life for couples opting to stay in one of Eureka Springs’ treehouses, Hobbit caves or castles. A whimsical, upscale interpretation of every child’s fantasy, the treehouses perch on cedar logs, nestled high among the foliage. Each treehouse features a different theme and strikes the perfect balance between nature and creature comfort. For those who prefer earth to sky, the Hobbit caves provide a cozy alternative, while couples seeking the royal treatment can elect to stay in one of the castles.

Stoneflower, E. Fay Jones’ Cottage on Eden Isle, Greers Ferry Lake An iconic example of the work of E. Fay Jones, this wood-and-glass structure with a 30-foot wooden deck was built as a summer cottage in 1965. Native stone boulders were used to create a cave-like lower level with bathing grotto. A spiral staircase leads to the main floor and continues up to the cozy loft, which overlooks the mod-style living room.

Diamond old West hotel Cabins, Murfreesboro This modern replica of a frontier town, complete with a bank, blacksmith, brothel, jail, livery and saloon, is three miles from Crater of Diamonds State Park, the only diamond-producing site in the world open to the public. After a diamond dig, return to your cabin for a hard-earned soak in the Jacuzzi tub.

Shady River Treehouses, Pocahontas A hidden gem, each house is uniquely decorated and well provisioned, complete with a golf cart that can be used to explore the trails or drive to the river for a swim. Arkansas.com/Weddings
