Kids Spree Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club

On August 8, more than 100 children from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale will get the chance to go back to school shopping free thanks to the Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club. Each child receives a $100 gift card to buy clothes at Kohl’s. The shopping helps underprivileged kids get the clothes they need for going back to school. Each child is paired with a member from Scottsdale Active 20-30 to help with the shopping. "Kids Spree" allow kids to start the new school year with new clothes, new shoes, warm winter jackets and a backpack! The Scottsdale Active 20-30 Club is made up of successful businessmen in their 20s and 30s dedicated to fundraising year round for Arizona's Children's Charities. Free Game of Bowling at Uptown Alley By Liz Lastra

Did you know that bowling is the number one participation sport in the country? With over 70 million people hitting the lanes at least once a year celebrate National Bowling Day on Saturday, August 8 at Uptown Alley! The family-fun, entertainment venue is offering free rental shoes and one free game of bowling from 8 - 10 a.m. Breakfast items will be available for people to eat as they bowl. Uptown Alley is a 60,000 square foot entertainment venue that features 40 lanes of bowling, over 80 video and prize games, and a two-story laser tag attraction. Natural Grocers to Open 100th Store in Scottsdale First 100 customers will each receive a gift card worth up to $100 Natural Grocers will open its fifth store in Arizona on Tuesday, August 11 — making it the company’s 100th store nationwide. The store, which opens at 8 a.m., is located at 13802 North Scottsdale Road Unit 110, in Scottsdale. As part the of the August 11 grand opening, Natural Grocers will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:45 a.m. and will then distribute mystery gift cards to the first 100 customers in line. Gift cards will be in the amount of $5, $10, $25, $50, and $100. Customers won’t know the amount of their gift card until they check out. The store will also offer a tasting of healthy and delicious food from the Paleo Wraps class. In addition, the all-female, Scottsdale-based mariachi band, Mariachi Pasión, will perform live on opening day from 7:30 a.m.– 10:30 am. Natural Grocers will provide the Scottsdale community with fresh produce that is exclusively USDA Certified Organic, as well as other healthy, affordable, organic, and natural products. The Scottsdale store will also feature a Nutritional Health Coach and offer free nutrition education classes to the public.
