Volleyball Festival to Bring Major Competition and Fun

Beginning Sunday, June 23, Phoenix will host a six-day volleyball competition and festival. Over 7,000 female athletes from 25 states are expected to participate. Themed “Totally Awesome ‘80s,” competitors are encouraged to dress in clothing and accessories from the 1980s. This competition is for females ages 12-18. It is opened to all school and club teams and no prequalification is necessary. The festival will begin with an Olympic-style opening ceremony at the U.S. Airways Center from 5:30 – 7 p.m. on Sunday with the tournament beginning at 8 a.m., daily from Monday, June 24 through Friday June 28 at the Phoenix Convention. There will be guest appearances from volleyball alumni as well as pro beach celebrities. All family members are encouraged to attend as there will also be live entertainment and familyfriendly activities such as a Kids Zone, a Special Olympics division, indoor sand courts, massage therapy stations, awards and more.
