We all have a gift to express and through these Self Work exercises, you will gain the Self Knowledge & Creative Confidence required to consistently Bridge The Gap Between Your Aspirations & Your Reality.

This Zine is a practice in creating! It’s Spiritual wisdom in action!

There are a total of 5 chapters & 4 exercises, each exercise is designed to be practiced for a week before moving on.

You may be already on your journey back to your True Self or just starting, either way, this book of exercise will help you tap into the creator in you. You were made by the Creator so that makes you a Creative. Now it’s time to activate!

CHAPTER “0 STATE”

We all have a gift to give and that gift comes through our expression. Our expression flows through our creativity and our creativity is nourished through our ability to be vulnerable with ourselves. I remember the days when I was scared to express myself fully. I lived with a fear that I couldn’t name & rarely acknowledged. I was a slave to it. That fear played out in every part of my life. It manifested in me only being myself around close friends, living with a boiling temper underneath that chill persona. It manifested in me not being able to love my lady in full because I wasn’t used to expressing joy or love for myself.

One day my lady, then girlfriend and now wife, told me “you’re so cold’.

She was addressing my ability not to feel and also make decisions from that chilling lack of feeling. I knew she was right, even though I didn’t want to admit it. The coldness and lack of expression was also hindering me from parts of my being that I now know are so beautiful. A part of the expression I was holding back also included my gift to the world.

After digesting that conversation, I went on a quest to become more vulnerable with myself! That journey led me to a wealth of creativity & self-knowledge. From that well, I created art, businesses, and community activations that empowered people to tap into their gifts. It’s funny to think back and know that all those gifts to myself and others were always inside of me patiently waiting for me to find my way back to myself. This journey allowed for me to see myself clearly and live out my divine purpose by creating my reality intentionally.

Creating became a spiritual practice & expressing became my way of gaining knowledge of self.

Chapters one through five will help you align with the Creator in you while passing you wisdom that will help you understand who you are beyond your conditioned responses and wavering emotions.

Each practice exercise starts with an anchoring philosophy and step “Zero State”. “Zero State” will give you my experience with the practice so you can have relatable context to its benefits before you take your own journey.

I’m excited for you to see who you become.

CHAPTER ONE

I AM

Before we enter into these creative exercises, we have to establish some foundational understandings - truth about who you are. This wisdom is anchored in indigenous African wisdom traditions that are the seed for global wisdom traditions.

You are a creator by design, that is who you are at your core.

Within you exists a divine you and a primal you. Sometimes your divine self and primal self have opposing desires. The goal is to align your will (your choice) with the Divine You (sometimes referred to as your higher self). The Higher Self is the you that operates from a power and wisdom that comes from the Divine intelligence, The Creator, The Universe, God, or whatever you choose to call It. Your primal side is anchored in the ego which is fear based and limited by your conditioned responses and learned habits. Your primal side isn’t bad, it’s just limited to what it has experienced or can experience through the 5 human senses.

Because you are a spiritual being housed within a human body the ego seeks to protect. Your mind has learned to use fear based logic to keep you physically safe. The good news is, you are far greater than your physical body and your mind is for you to control and not for it to control you. You are greater than your name. You are greater than your prescribed mental illness. You are greater than your anxiety. You are greater than your fear.

You are a manifestation of the Highest Power reincarnated on Earth.

A being with infinite creative potential - that is who you are. Your true identity is constant, not fleeting like your emotions. Learning to align your self-perception with being a creator on Earth, opens your life to a version of self-identity that exists above temporary mental hurdles. It aligns your self perception with your abilities as a creator who by design creates reality, even when you are not aware of it.

Now that we’ve established a basis for a more accurate self perception, let’s begin the practice of creating.

CHAPTER TWO

Seeing The World With Your Divine Eye Your intuition is Universal wisdom speaking to you with an all seeing eye. Because we are one with divine intelligence, our spirit is still able to perceive what our five senses can not see.

Think of intuition like a parent who sees what an infant cannot perceive because the baby’s consciousness, or focus, is locked into the present moment. The infant may run out into the driveway, chasing the ball, not able to predict the danger that is in the street. So the parent says, “ get your butt back in the driveway”. Okay, you may say differently, but you get the vibe.

By design you are able to tap into an infinite source of wisdom. That divine intelligence can guide you in a way your senses cannot perceive or predict. The practice in Chapter Two is designed to make you familiar with that intuitive voice. It may come in nudges and hints and sparks of brilliance or a small voice that says turn right or go straight.

Key Concept: This wisdom is a part of you. It operated from a place of creative possibility and abundance. It’s not anchored in fear-based, scarcity-minded beliefs. So if you ever need to decipher if it’s intuition or fear talking to you, try and decipher if the message is anchored in scarcity or abundance.

Now, intuition will also tell you not to go down that dark alley. You should listen. Don’t say Dom said to take unnecessary risk and be a super hero just because.

Intuitive Roam | Practice

Anchoring Theme You can train your consciousness to align with your subconscious divine wisdom. Your intuition is always available to you, so you can call on it and activate it at will.

“Zero State”: I’ve practiced intuitive roams for the last eight years or so. Most times, I find water and I always find clarity. It has become one of my most precious times to spend with myself.

Step One: Leave your house with no end point. With no intention of being anywhere or getting to any destination, jump in your car, get on your bike, simply walk or take public transportation and just go.

Step Two: When you get the urge or intuitive nudge to stop or take a right, move to the left, go down that street or say hello to that person, do it. You’ll find that there’s a guiding voice, a force or feeling nudging you to go in directions. There are no wrong moves here. Feel free to take your time. Buy a drink, talk to a stranger, take in the scenery. You can either do this on a time limit or you can just roam without time.

Tip: If you find yourself overthinking your next move, breathe, take a look around and go where you feel called.

Step Three: Take note of how you feel. Did you find anything; a source of inspiration, a new trail, a part of the city you’ve never been in, clarity, friends?

Remember the point of this exercise is to become familiar with your intuition and that will take time. Keep practicing, consistency is a skill all on its own.

CHAPTER THREE

Finding Your Command Center There exists a space within yourself, that you can access, where you sit at the center of your Soul. Still physically on earth, but anchored consciously in the spirit world.

From that space you can visualize, find answers to life’s questions, feel what it’s like to have your consciousness unfocused on life’s mundane tasks. It is also a good place to receive guidance from souls who have lived a human life before you.

You can reach this space through meditation.

So with this practice, we will practice meditation.

Specifically, we’ll practice disengaging from everyday, mundane thoughts that cloud our mind. We will practice how not to chase thoughts so that our awareness can have more space in between thoughts, more peace in between thoughts, and eventually reach stillness.

It’s in the stillness, we find our command center! It’s a really fun place to know how to return to. I source most of my wisdom and creative ideas from this place inside myself.

Chapter Three | Practice (Practice)

Anchoring Theme At will you can turn your consciousness inward. You have the ability to release your focus from the outside world and turn your awareness on your internal world. Everything that you experience in your external world was first created internally, then you experienced it outwardly. For example, one day you had the intuitive nudge to go get a job. Once you made a decision, you went out and sought a job and a job was also seeking you.

“Zero State” I first started meditating 10 years ago after hitting my version of rock bottom. I knew something had to change and trying to force the physical world to mold to my will wasn’t working. So I was forced to look internally and work from the inside-out to create the existence I deserve. 10 years later, I love life! When folks ask me how I’m doing my response is “ Life is good”. It’s an affirmation and understanding that my speech is a directive for my present & future experience.

Step One: Find a place where you won’t be interrupted. Close your eyes. (You can do this with your eyes open but it’s a little easier to turn your focus inward when you’re not distracted by the outside world.)

Tip: I suggest you start your practice before you enter into the world fully. Try practicing meditation before everyone wakes up. Before you have emails to answer or before the kids get up.

Step Two: Close your eyes and begin breathing evenly and deeply.

Breathe until your belly is full, and exhale until your abs contract, this is a full breath.

Step Three: As thoughts come and go, you can return your focus back to your breathing when you find yourself occupied with a thought.

If you’re new to meditation, set a timer for 3 minutes and practice. Continue working your way up to 5 minutes, then ten, and eventually get to 20 minutes.

Some Extra Guidance: Breath is as important to your spirit as it is to your body.

When you breathe you’re taking in divine energy for your spirit & and oxygen for your body, all by breathing.

Remember, we’re practicing letting thoughts pass without following them. We will use our breath to direct our attention away from those thoughts, especially when a thought comes into our mind that you want to chase.

Sometimes, I’ll acknowledge a thought by internally saying “hi & bye” then returning to my breath.

When I say don’t chase the thought I mean; don’t expound upon it, don’t follow it, disengage & return back to your breathing - as a way of returning back to your core.

CHAPTER FOUR

THE POWER

OF

CHOICE

This earthly life is full of choices that compound into our present reality. Because we are creators by nature we create our own reality with every choice we make.

The only way to become who you are destined to be is by aligning your choices with the vision.

It may sound cumbersome, but it’s the gift of life. Free will!

We can choose to make decisions aligned with our divine plan or our primal desires. When you decide to be or do something great you will be presented with the opposing option. It’s at that crossroad where you get to decide who you will be. Isn’t that beautiful?

This practice will self-induce choice, so that we practice making the right decision at the crossroad moments in life. This is where mental fortitude comes in. We will learn to be mentally tough with this practice.

Chapter Four | Practice Practice (Practice)

Anchoring Theme You have to choose to stay in alignment with your divine plan and higher self.

“Zero State” I used to try and pray and meditate my way out of my problems. But when the temptation arose, I gave into old habits and decisions that kept me in a cycle. Once I learned about the Gift of Choice, I became aware of what moments of temptations were & I began to consciously choose my alignment over my old habits. I started rebranding temptation as an opportunity to be who I said I wanted to be.

Step One: Choose an area of your life you’d like to improve in.

It could be food, it could be your relationship with somebody. It can be any part of your life where you desire to improve.

Step Two: Choose a behavior that you will practice daily for a week that will get you closer to the goal.

This behavior may be something that makes you cringe, but if it’s good for you, the benefit will be worth the follow through.

Step Three: Do it despite your emotions. Do it despite the opposing thoughts that may occur. Choose to follow through with this action by any means necessary.

Step Four: Journal about it. How did you feel doing what you said you would do, despite feeling like you didn’t want to do it?

CHAPTER FOUR

The Art of Creating Your Reality This is where “Chapter Zero” - ‘Four” start proving themselves valuable. Creating is a spiritual practice that starts from within.

You are given a divine plan and you have to intuit it. You have to tap into yourself to figure it out. Before you came to Earth, you and God - aka The Universe aka The Supreme Being - decided your path before you arrived.

You can use your intuition to unravel that plan. Meditate to go into your command center and see it so you can be it,Utilize the gift of choice to make the decisions that align with your divine plan.

Now it’s time to create from the inside out.

This exercise is intended to help you discover what you are supposed to create and then start creating it. Your brain may not know what you’re supposed to do, but your spirit is always aware of it.

Tip: It may be good to use past or unfinished projects if they were left unexecuted.

Many of us desire a life of financial independence and abundance so we can live on our own terms. Those unfinished ideas equate to currency and impact. With that in mind, it may be a good idea to start with some things you didn’t finish.

Being Is Believing | Practice e Practice (Practice)

Anchoring Theme Following through on your creative ideas encompasses self-work, social impact, spiritual growth and helps you strengthen your confidence in your identity as a Creator on Earth.

“Zero State” When I began to own my identity as a creator, I became more self-empowered, confident and in control of my existence. It was also a pathway to me healing and knowing my purpose. It took a lot of self-work to get to this understanding about who I AM. I had to get over self-limiting beliefs, imposter syndrome and selfdoubt to assume the responsibility as the creator of my life experiences. But now I love it.

Step One: Choose a project to complete in seven days, or a piece of a large project that can be completed in seven days.

Step Two: Sit in stillness or go for a walk and allow your brain to slow down so your intuition can speak to you about how or what strategy you’re supposed to use to execute this project.

Step Three: Visualize the end. Visualize what life is like when this piece of the project or this project is complete.

Step Four: Set markers for accomplishment and get to creating.

Step Five: Journal your progress.

Take note of when you are able to continue despite your emotions telling you to stop.

Remember, you’ll be tempted not to finish by mental boundaries, lack of faith etc. That is your crossroad moment. So choose your Divine Self and continue creating.

The Start of a New Creative Existence For this challenge we dedicated seven days to each practice but it’s my hope that you continue gaining Knowledge of Self through Self-Work & Creation forever. Each one of these chapters, 1 through 5, can become habits that continue to help you grow into the highest version of yourself over and over again.
