What Are Paid Surveys? Paid Surveys are basically online questionnaires concerning studies on different topics. These questionnaires are given to everyday people like you and me, and we simply give our personal opinions on the study. Now maybe some of you are wondering "Why would they want my opinions?" or "What happens after I take the surveys?" Here's why: Paid surveys are operated by market research companies who dedicates their work in researching different name brand products, mostly new ones. They do this by collecting data which is our opinions we input into the questionnaires, and then uses the statistics to determine whether or not the products will fare well in the markets. So basically we influence the future of these products. This is why our opinions are so very important! Note: There are different kinds of Paid Surveys, but the most known ones are: Product Testing, Focus Groups, and Mystery Shopping. Here's an overview on them:
Product Testing is one of the most common paid surveys if not THE the most common on the internet. Sometimes when doing a survey, you're asked to test a new product in the comfort of your own home. When you do try out these products you're sent a follow up survey to answer questions concerning your experiences with that particular product. Focus Groups are a special kind of paid surveys. While normal surveys only requires one person to answer questions on a particular topic, focus groups require more than one person to answer these questions. Market research companies do this to collect data on people's opinions as a group, instead of an individual. Now the awesome thing is that Focus Groups pays more than normal surveys. These studies are done via internet, telephone, and sometimes in-person. When the group completes the study they are paid for their time. How much the participant is paid depends on the subject and the amount of time it takes to complete the survey.
Mystery Shopping is a completely different survey. You're sent an invite to shop at local stores, or eat in restaurants. You don't pay for the stores or restaurants you're sent to. The company does that for you! Once you 'mystery shopped' you're sent a follow up survey where you tell of your experiences of being a customer in that particular place. Once completed you're compensated for your time.
