Hello, Bold-Thinkers. Welcome to the holiday season! I am so excited to share this carefully curated holiday guide with you. It has been fulfilling to work with and support other bold women who are dreamers, business owners, mothers, artists, activists, and change-makers. As we all know, the holiday season is filled with shiny things, festive decor, merry sentiments shared between people, and joyous events that put most people in a happy mood. There is also the decadent side of this time of year that has people overspending, overdoing, overeating, and overindulging. Before you pump the breaks on the good and bad side of the holiday season, let’s look at some bold and proper ways to overindulge so you can wrap up this year feeling well rested, nourished, and ready. Enjoy this holiday guide and support yourself in having a happy, whole and bold holiday season by starting with these initial steps. Prioritize yourself Gift yourself with the best things that make you feel healthy, happy, and whole. Eat great foods that nourish you. Sleep in. Take time off. Do less in areas that unnecessarily zap your energy. Be your true self. Get the help you need. Remind yourself that you deserve the best. Indulge in healthy pleasures What are you denying yourself? Do you need a massage? Will investing in a healthy meal delivery service support you in prioritizing yourself? If so, do these things. Overindulge in opportunities and services that support your self-love habits. There is nothing you need to justify when you make space and room for healthy pleasures. This type of decadence is always needed and on time. Focus on strong connections As invitations for holiday events roll in, say yes to the ones that involve the people you love the most. Say no to any events that make you feel stressed, pulled in too many directions, or worried. Saying no is acceptable at this time of year. You don’t have to provide any excuses or over explain why you are passing on this event. Do something on your “When I have more time, I will…” list Instead of overspending money on stuff and things, work on allowing room and space for experiences. If your “dream list” involves travel, figure out how to go on your trip or get closer to it. If you’ve written a goal on your list to achieve something - invest in training or support that will get you closer to it. Your time is now, and yes, you’re ready and deserving. Happy Holidays!

How do you mentally prepare for the arrival of the holiday season? A great way to set yourself on your right path to have a bold, happy, and whole holiday season is to create your own manifesto. A manifesto is a declaration on how and why you want to be fully engaged in a holiday seasons that fills you up - instead of depleting you.

Below are some steps to help you create your own holiday manifesto. Take some time to write one for yourself. You can also get your team or family involved and come up with a manifesto together. • Set aside 15-to-30 minutes to write your manifesto • Identify your top five values. • Think about the ways these values honor your needs. • Select the parts of the holiday season you enjoy the most. • List your top 3 intentions for this holiday season. • Capture potential challenges or obstacles that can arise. • List how you will lean into these challenges - and how you will use this for purposeful lessons. • Propose a timeframe. • Use clear language. • Capture your thoughts in the affirmative. • Keep your manifesto to 300 words or less.

Bold, Happy, and Whole During the Holiday Season – A Manifesto

I welcome the holiday season with a clear intention to thrive and not just survive. I will choose happiness over busy-ness. I will make time for people who I love and enjoy. I will be honest, open, and vocal about what I want and need. I will be proactive in asking for help and supportive. I will nurture holiday traditions that are joyful and fulfilling. I will focus on deepening connections with those who matter most. I will love my body at all times and in all situations. I will say YES to holiday activities that fill me up. I will say NO to holiday events that cause stress or tension. I will spoil myself with patience, understanding, and compassion. I will take breaks that help me refuel. I will not internalize the words or criticism from judgmental relatives. I will be bold, happy, and whole during the holiday season.

Rick & Suzanne Bell | Real Estate Agents at Compass Whenever Rick and I are preparing a home for the market, we spend quite a bit of time and focus on making sure the bedrooms in a home reflect a beautiful and cozy space. Beautiful bedrooms shouldn’t be reserved for marketing brochures. After all, we spend a third of our lives sleeping, our bedroom should be a luxurious place to rest and enjoy. Step one in creating a sumptuous bed is linen selection. I recommend purchasing the best linens you can afford, starting with the ones close to your body. Once you have your basic bed set up, decorative shams and pillows are the icing on the cake and will give your bed a welcoming and chic look. My step-by-step guide, How to Make a Beautiful Bed, includes designer tips beginning with linen selection, thread count (does it matter?), pillows, and shams along with photos of six luxurious beds to inspire you. Your home should be a place to relax and enjoy life – your Happy Place. Strive to create spaces that make you feel at peace and if something’s not working; make a change. Often it’s the smallest change that creates the biggest impact.

‘Tis the season to be your boldest! Gift yourself and those around you with gifts, resources, and tools that support a B.O.L.D. mindset and a B.O.L.D. way of living. What does it mean to be B.O.L.D.?

What is Hyggë? Hyggё (pronounced hue-guh) is a Danish word used when describing or observing a feeling or moment of coziness, tranquility, serenity, and luxurious nesting. Hyggё is part of a conscious slowing down so you can focus on what matters, (re) connect with yourself and those who are important to you, boost your happiness, practice nurturing rituals, and allow yourself to live simply. Top 5 hyggё rituals people from the Bold Living Today community enjoy: • Reading for pleasure by the fireplace (real or fireplace on TV) • Sipping hot cocoa or tea while listening to music • Burning a crackling candle that smells like pine while meditating • Baking cookies, scones, or muffins - and enjoying them with loved ones or sharing with neighbors • Knitting or doodling while listening to an audio book or an inspiring podcast

Sanctuary Blend Essential Oils Bold Living Today

How do you maintain your morning routine, restorative time-outs, or “sit and do nothing” sessions when the pace of holiday season ramps up? I encourage my clients, loved ones, and myself to create pop-up sanctuaries. The beauty of a pop-up sanctuary is that you can use it anywhere so that you can slow down, take a break, refresh, and refuel. Even when you have a house full of people or you are running extra errands, your pop-up sanctuary can be your refuge for staying happy, whole, and bold during the holiday season. Want to take your pop-up sanctuary to the next level? Add some essential oils. I’m grateful that during the time my mother-in-law lived with my family in Colorado, she cultivated and nurtured my knowledge and interest in essential oils. This is the blend that I named Pop-Up Sanctuary.

Pop-Up Sanctuary Diffuser Blend • 3 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) • 3 drops Tangerine (Citrus reticulata) • 3 drops Bergamot (Citrus bergamia)

IO Insights - Health and Fitness Healthier Living Tips • Review restaurant menus before going to the restaurant. Decide what you are going to eat and drink. Make yourself accountable by telling your “date” what you are going to order and drink. • Put on clothes that makes you feel good about your body and inspires you to stay healthy. • Have healthy “to-go-snacks” readily available in the fridge. • Measure yourself by using tight jeans/pants/dress and try it on every week to manage your size. If it gets too tight...you know it’s time to slow down on holiday feasts and up the exercise routine. • Swap unhealthy food for healthier food.

• Park further away when you go grocery shopping... and take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. • Do a quick abs/arm circuit before jumping in the shower - 2 minutes will do it! • For more quick tips leading to healthier living, see my blog on “healthy holiday habits” here.

Mulled Apple Cider Recipe Bold Living Today

Mocktail for any age One of the things that excites most about the holiday season is spending time with special friends. I have some great neighbors and we refer to ourselves as the Unicorn Council (aka Mom Squad). We often treat ourselves with a biweekly meet up at the hot tub, so we can relax, catch up, and support each other in navigating challenges. About 5 years ago, one of the moms started bringing a pot of mulled wine and mugs so we could enjoy the mulled wine during our soak. This is a restorative tradition we have maintained. Here is my alcohol-free version of mulled wine. It’s perfect for all ages and serves as a cozy treat to keep things happy, festive, and fun. Idea: Pair this recipe with the Conversation Starters found in this guide.

Recipe: Mulled Apple Cider Makes six-to-eight servings Prep time: Six minutes Cook time: 20-to-25 minutes Ingredients 2 quarts apple cider or apple juice 4 to 6 hibiscus tea bags 2 tablespoons of mulling-spice blend (you can always make your own blend, too) 8 orange slices ž cup cranberries for garnish (fresh or thawed frozen cranberries) Directions In a slow cooker or a large saucepan on the stove, add apple cider/apple juice, tea bags, and mulled spices (best to put the mulled spices in a cheesecloth baggie). Simmer on low heat for at least 20 minutes. Remove tea bags and use a mesh skimmer or straining ladle to remove mulling spices (if they are loose). Pour into a heat protected or insulated container/pitcher. Float orange slices or cranberries on top. Serve, sip, and enjoy! 22.

Gather, Discuss, and Connect Conversation Starters Gathering with the special people in your life is a gift that warms the heart and provides the opportunity to create new memories. Continuing to learn about each other is a great way to support current traditions and create new ones.
