INTERLOCKING SPACES This project was an exploration in form, space, and surface. Using S-shape pieces of poplar wood, a building block was created that became a 6” x 8” x 9” form. When a section was taken at any level, it revealed a beautiful variation of depths. The drawings and renderings were created using Rhinocerous, Luxology Modo, and Adobe Illustrator. Final Model

URBAN ACTIVITY CENTER The Urban Activity Center was a combination of a fitness and community center, complete with a basketball court, public pool, and public meeting rooms. The organizations of spaces began as an arrangement or modules on the site. It then developed into an examination of how these modules could interact in plan and section. The resulting plan is shown to the right. The diagrams were created on Adobe Illustrator; and the plans and renderings were created on Rhinocerous, Luxology Modo, and Adobe Illustrator. BICYCLE PLAYGROUND This project was created during a studio course in Copenhagen. The premise was to create a temporary pavillion that included a bicycle information center, library, and workspace. The main problem with the site was the amount of wind that passed through the location. This was mediated by studying the wind patterns and developing a structure that responded to the site condition. This project was completed with the use of AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. SUMMER

HALF & HALF This photography collection was the final project for a visual studies class where students learned the basics of using a digital cameras. This class focused on using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for editing pictures. The images were edited on Lightroom and then exported into Photoshop to create the second layer. The “Half & Half” collection was printed on 8.5” x 8.5” photo paper and bound into a book format.

Scans of the “Half & Half” Book

“A picture of ourself never quite says what we want it to. After seeing Jim Goldberg’s ”Rich and Poor,“ I was fascinated by the idea of taking a photo of someone and handing the print back to the subject for feedback, comments, or criticism. However, I took a slightly different approach. With inspiration drawn from Cindy Sherman’s “Untitled Film Stills,” I photographed my friends through my first impression of them. I then created a second layer over half the image and allowed my subjects to write as they pleased.”

MATERIALS RESOURCES MAP The Materials Resources Map was created as a cartography project for the UC Berkeley Undergraduate Peer Advisors. It is designed as a pamphlet that could be used by new architecture students who need materials for their studio classes. The stores are separated by material types and the relevant bus lines are shown. This map was created using a combination of ArcGIS and Adobe Illustrator.
