Beaded Fabric Pendant Necklace
Materials ■
The advantage of using muslin as a substrate in mixedmedia artwork is that it is flexible. This advantage quickly becomes a disadvantage, however, when you want to make a pendant that needs to be flat and stiff. With the portrait pendant, this stiffness was achieved by sewing together multiple layers of fabric. This method is difficult to use, however, when you’re working with irregular shapes. For this pendant, we apply a layer of material often used to help ball caps retain their shape, to create irregularly shaped pendants that are stiff enough to use for any necklace.
