Generally speaking, most of the fairy tales consist of the nature and human society. So the basic idea of this Pinocchio Children's Library is to weave the nature and the library together. By preserving, and renovating the abandoned green houses, the new library found its base on the site. The library grows systematically from the left parts of the old green houses. As a result, within the areas on the both sides of the river there are a series of glass houses, holding the nature, the library, and the other essential programs together inside. The children would not only learn from the books but also the natural elements. At the same time, a continuous exterior space extists on the second level, which would bring the visitors the feeling of the small towns in the fairy tales. It's the place where they can experience the storys outside the books.

SITE there are some old greenhouse structures remaining in the site.

RESPECT AND EXTENDING we choose to respect the atmosphere and current strutures, extending them to a mass that meet demand of library requirement.

GREEN AND EXPLORING since nature is the best thing we can explore and learn from, we decide to make good use of the existing greenhouse, setting green inside the building, enabling children to play under trees and learn from nature.

ADDING AND SUBTRACTING we add a small-scale path on the second floor with transparent glass covering. the library space are divided into more proper-scale and playful for children.
