Welcome from the Athletic Director: Whether you are a Hoban fan, a visitor or an opponent, welcome to this winter athletic event. I am confident that you will enjoy watching these fine young athletes display good sportsmanship while engaged in a hard fought contest. The players and coaches have worked tirelessly to prepare for our fall sports and their expectations are high. These student athletes you are watching are forming friendships, learning life’s lessons and creating memories that will last the rest of their lives. So make it that much more special for them by cheering them on in a positive way. Have a great time, make some noise, and show your support and enthusiasm. Finally, many thanks to the parents of our athletes. The assistance and support you give to our coaches and their staff is much appreciated. Most importantly, thank you for the sacrifices you make for your sons and daughters so that they can experience high school athletics. —Michael J. Del Medico ’73

Faithful Fathers at Hoban Men’s Prayer and Faith Sharing Group

>

Purpose: This men’s group is a great opportunity to keep up with your son or daughter’s spiritual progress at Hoban. These fathers discuss a wide range of topics, from scripture passages to the challenges of growing up in an electronic age. These dads support each other, teach each other, console each other, and rejoice with each other. We have some fun too. What:

• Song • Scripture • Discussion of cultural issues families face that affect spiritual growth

When:

Every other Saturday during the school year, 8 to 9:30 a.m. (can come any week)

Project:

This year we committed to support Hoban’s Project Hope (We plan to bring food to the homeless with Hoban students.)

Working to support our students in sports and activities since 1973.

HOBAN BOOSTER CLUB The Booster Club is an organization of parents of past and present students and friends of Hoban who wish to support the activities of Hoban students. Funding is through the 300 Club, a ticket purchasing program. Participant numbers are drawn at the monthly Booster Club meetings. The Booster Club’s contributions are used to provide uniforms, equipment and financial assistance for athletic teams and school clubs and organizations. We help make a difference for our Hoban students by supporting a well rounded high school experience. See what we are all about! We welcome your input and suggestions. The HOBAN Fund 2012~2013

The GAR Foundation will match dollar-for-dollar all increased and new gifts, up to $50,000.

For 58 years Archbishop Hoban High School has been that rare place where you can always be yourself, where you can stay true to you. You can be a high-achieving student, a musician in the making, a future priest or religious, an aspiring artist or just a young man or woman discovering who you really are. Hoban students excel beyond what they and others thought was possible. They can surprise themselves. They can and do succeed and lead in college and beyond. They learn what it means to be true to you – to become the people God calls them to be. Most importantly, they can find their faith. We not only teach religion at Hoban, we live it. We empower students to truly find and embrace their faith, so that one day, perhaps long after they’ve graduated, it is there for them when they need it most. Hoban has done this for nearly six decades. But we need help. Tuition does not cover and never has covered the real cost to run the school and educate our students. We need you to remember the last line of our alma mater: “We shall be true to you.” Please consider a gift to the HOBAN Fund.
