In the area of eastern Herzegovina, between Mostar and Stolac to the coast of Trebisnjica River, the Illyrian tribe Daors were inhabited, that had religious, administrative and political center in Oša nići near Stolac. Due to its favorable geographical position, between the Adriatic coast and the mountains hinterland, they were engaged in trade. From the 3rd century BC, the strong influences of Hellenic culture in Daorsi were noticeable. Following the examples of the Adriatic and Ionian co astal cities, they began in the 2nd century to mint their own money; after the defeat of the Illyrian king Ballaios, 168 BC. This is the first coin minted in areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina Only 10 copies of Daorson coins have been saved. On the obverse side, a male portrait (god Herm) is shown with the oblong hat, petasos, whose surface is filled with tiny protuberances, with short and combed hair. On the reverse side, a recognizable ship is shown and along the edge the name DAORSON is written in Greek letters. It is probably the representation of the warships of that time. Usually its lengths was 15 meters and width 4,5 meters. Ship’s side height of the water is estimated to be around two meters, depth gauge about 1,5 meters and payload about 15 tons. Coins of Daors were cast in bronze, weighing about 5 grams and a diameter of 17 mm. (Radoslav Dodig)

Shrine of the god Mithra was called mithraeum. Many of these shrines were in natural or artificially constructed caves. One of the most complete monument of the Mithra’s cult, 16 of theme in B&H, was found in 1894 in Konjic, near the train station, on the right bank of the creek Trstenica. The monument with the relief scenes on both sides was found at the shrines built on the plateau (9x5 meters). On the front side, the scene in which the supreme god Mithra kills the bull is shown, and on the arch above the inscription: DEO SOLI INV[ICT]O METER[I] = to the invincible god of the sun Mithra. As it was about a provincial carver, instead of MITHRAE, carver wrote METERI. The back side shows the ritual feast (communion) of Mithra’s followers. In the middle there is a table and two persons sitting around it, first in the religious hierarchy – Pater and Heliodrom. In front of the table there is small tripod with four breads. Other participants in the feast represent certain reli gious orders, some of which have masks on their face (Corax, Nymphus, Miles, Perses). When the

There is an inscription error on this m/s: the country name have to be "Kazakhstan" instead of "Kazahstan"

Since its opening, the Museum of the Krapina Neanderthal Man has not ceased attracting an ex ceptional attention - from field experts equally as from the wide public; already a mere number of over 100 thousand visitors in the first year of its existence suggests the possible conclusion that the conceptual and investment project has fulfilled its scope. Museology practice, i.e. the intention of collecting, preserving and presentation of the remainders of natural and cultural heritage can be performed on different interest levels and from different interpretational aspects that are subject to change in accordance with changes in social, ideological, aesthetic and even economic domain. Each museum enterprise -or more precisely said, the act of musealisation has the goal to archive but also to present and as such is an expression of a particular standard of approach to material and non-material heritage, but also - through its interpretational aspect it is a public act, and thus also a reflection of particular contextual facts, whereby the exhibits are just the „objects of cogni tion”.

Tulum (Yucatec: Tulu'um) is the site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city serving as a major port for Cobá. The ruins are situated on 12-meter (39 ft) tall cliffs, along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayans; it was at its height between the 13th and 15th centuries and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico. Old World diseases brought by the Spanish settlers appear to have been the cause of its demise. One of the best-preserved coastal Maya sites, Tulum is today a popular site for tourists

The postage stamp displays a part of the embossed decoration of a Roman plate, the so-called lanx diskos from the 2nd century BC which was a part of the equipment of a randomly discovered tomb of a Germanic chief in Krakovany during an excavation of clay in the brickworks of Stráže from 1933 – 1938. The decoration of silver plate depicted various stories from the beginning of Roman history; especially the events connected with the expulsion of the last Etruscan king in Rome, Tarquinius Superbus, in 509 BC.

On the postage stamp is a scene of visit king’s sons, Titus, Aruns and their cousin Lucius Junius Brutus (in a carriage), to the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. They travelled to Greece for the prophecy on who would be the king after the death of Tarquinius Superbus. Oracle Pythia prophesied that it would be the one who kissed the mother first. While the brothers were drawing lots on who would have the honour to do after arriving to home, Brutus understood the meaning of Pythia’s words and kissed “the Mother Earth”. After returning to Rome, an uprising against the king broke out, led by Lucius Junius Brutus, who became the first consul of the Republic of Rome and the prophecy came true. The ceremony of oath connected with the protection of the republic located in the cen tre of the plate is actually the main motif of FDC. The discovery of this extraordinary item in the territory of Slovakia confirms the fact that Slovakia has never been on the periphery of cultures. Not even during Ancient Rome whose borders stretched until the Danube and the Romans were visi ting the Germans and gave them exclusive diplomatic presents in order to keep their favour. The displayed artefact from our art history implies various important messages. It does not only mean the popularisation of our cultural heritage abroad, because we know only two plates all over the world, but it may lead to visiting our regional museums e.g. Hornonitrianske museum in Prie vidza which has this plate in its collection.
