2020 National Meeting Report Like so many things this year, we had great plans for our National Meeting and then had to make adjustments …
and adjust we did.
to fill the open positions on the Board of Directors. Elected were Jerry Gatlin, Commander of the Austin Chapter and Rich Kehoe, Commander of the Monterey Peninsula Chapter. Grand Commander Buddy Hagner also announced the appointment of Janet Hamilton to the Grand Council. It’s a bit early yet to make plans for 2021 and we shall remain flexible to the changing times. Let’s hope it is in person … and we can all come together and celebrate!
Those great expectations for our getting together in Sonoma in April with tastings and dinner included what would have been a lavish evening at DeLoach Winery, hosted by the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter. Instead, we held a two hour “virtual” meeting on Zoom on Saturday, May 23. Every chapter participated and the feedback was that although we would have preferred to be together in person sharing great times, of course, this did work pretty well. Every delegate was sent a package of information in advance of the meeting. Following our normal agenda, the Grand Officers gave their reports and then every Commander reported on their chapter. It was good to hear how members across the country are staying connected either in small groups or virtually. After the reports were complete, there was an election
