A Swing for a Cause American Mission Hospital held the 22nd year of its Island Classic Charity Golf Tournament.
AMH CEO/CMO Dr. George Cheriyan said, “Golfers look forward to playing at the Island Classic every year as it is the only opportunity to experience this one of a kind golf course. We are honored by the tremendous support from the community of Bahrain. We are extremely grateful to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for once again giving us the unique opportunity to conduct the Island Classic at his private golf course. he 2019 AMH Island Classic charity golf tournament was held last November at the private golf course of His Majesty the King in Saffriya. The 3-day high profile golfing event held under the patronage of His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa raised funds for the community outreach program of the hospital. The event, which teed off at 7.30am on its first day, was played in the Florida format and included several side contests adding to the fun and excitement of the event.

The Championship Flight was won by Al Hawaj 2; Gulf Air 2 won second place; in third place overall was Bahrain Confidential, a birdie short of winning! The Premier Flight was won by Independent –US Embassy; in second place was the AMH Amwaj 2; and RCSI 1 won the third place. The event ended with the Annual Gala dinner at The Diplomat RadissonBlu Hotel & Spa to honour the sponsoring organisations. Bahrain Confidential was one of the Gold Sponsors for the 22nd AMH Island Classic. n
