owned by Rohara and the R. Kirk Landon Revocable Trust, was Gold Champion and Best Male in Show at the 2012 European Breeders Championships. For Hart, however, his value is especially apparent in his pedigree. He is by QR Marc, who began his career as a sire at the farm before being sold to Belgium, and offers the modern sire line of Marwan Al Shaqab and Magic Dream.
Nearly 50 years ago, Rohara’s breeding program grew out of the ultra-competitive Region 12 circuit, and for Roxann Hart, that is still a good place to start when taking on the world. ■ below: Michael Hart and Joe Alberti at Region 12 Show. bottom: Rohara foundation mares Emenee, Rohara Tsultress and Rohara Tstatusque.
Pavarotto’s damline, Hart says, is just plain “supreme”— and it also recalls lines instrumental from the beginning in Rohara’s success. The stallion’s dam is Palanga, 2003 European Champion Filly and 2004 Junior Reserve Champion Filly at Bialka. She is by Ekstern (a Monogramm son tracing to *Bask), and out of the top class Panika, whose show credits include, among others, 2006 All Nations Cup and European Senior Reserve Champion Mare, World Top Ten Senior Mare at the Salon du Cheval, and 2007 Polish National Reserve Champion Senior Mare.
