MAHB Fall Festival

tarted in 1981, the 35th Minnesota Fall Fest has many great attributes, but one thing that sets this first-ever futurity show apart from others and makes it exciting for all those involved is its auction classes and over $200,000 in prize money offered at this year’s show to halter and performance amateur-only exhibitors. It is a highly anticipated show for breeders and amateurs from all over the country who love coming to the Fall Fest and competing with the best.

This 3-day event from September 30 – October 2, is heavily supported, both by its Minnesota Arabian Horse Breeder (MAHB) Members and yearly exhibitors who know it is a proving ground of past years’ auction breedings and a great opportunity to create more future champions by bidding on over 80 of the top stallions in the industry today in their annual breeding Auction held on Saturday night. With the weather at its very best, helpful and efficient office and show staff always available, and the show’s inclusive atmosphere, this year’s Fall Fest show never failed to provide those who participated with opportunities to gather together. The competition was fierce with rider/horse numbers up significantly from 2015 and the annual Progressive Dinner was attended by many. The stallion auction, housed in a new setting in the Ag Center, was beautiful, well received and productive with revenue also up from the year before. Always up for a fun time, patrons were generous once more with entertaining events to raise money for charities, including the Saturday afternoon Pro Stick Horse Race, which was hilarious and raised a lot of money. “At a time where everyone seems to be looking for answers to cure what is ailing the Arabian horse industry,” Greg Brown summarizes, “perhaps we should take a look at one answer that has been leading the way for 35 years. We provide a reason to breed Arabian horses and a forum to present, merchandise, and reward Arabians. We live for the purebred Arabian horse.” The Minnesota Fall Fest truly has it all!
