Chalcroft Completes New Facility For Searles Leisure Resort Situated on the Norfolk coast at Hunstanton, Searles Leisure Resort has been offering family breaks for more than 80 years. To cater for the unpredictable British weather, the resort boasts both indoor and outdoor pools and for the challenge of upgrading its facilities ahead of the busiest period of the year – the school holidays – it selected specialist construction contractor Chalcroft Building Services. Ensuring poolside fun even in poor weather, Chalcroft worked collaboratively with Searles to design and build a new indoor interactive splash pool with dual slides, as well as the provision of a new reception, activity areas and a viewing space for parents. The scope of works also covered refurbishment to the popular outdoor pool, which included a new external surround for safety and enhanced landscaping for aesthetics with the new facilities representing an investment in excess of £1m. Rob Copeman, Operations Manager at Chalcroft Building Services explained: “As the holiday season was looming, there could be no compromise on timescales and from the point of re-design, we had only 18 weeks in which to complete the project. As we’re well-versed in live-site and deadline-driven

construction, we were confidently able to meet Searles’ important schedule and the facility was opened to eager holidaymakers on time – a gratifying moment for us all.” Resort Director Paul Searle added: “Guests choose Searles not only for our beautiful location, but the huge amount of amenities we can offer to keep families amused, active and happy. Wet weather activities are crucial to fulfilling this promise which is why we chose to invest in upgrading our indoor splash pool – and having it ready

for the holiday season was non-negotiable. Chalcroft impressed us with their pedigree of working collaboratively with clients to design and build bespoke facilities within tight timescales, and holidaymakers who join us in 2018 and beyond will not be disappointed with the results.” Chalcroft 01553 776543 www.chalcroft.co.uk

Pool Rental Partnership Boosts Child Swimming Lessons And Pool Servicing Business It’s no secret that private pools are often under-utilised, for example, because children grow up and no longer use the family pool or busy family members only take an occasional dip. Such scenarios leave pools unused for many hours per week, but this could become a thing of the past. Two leading businesses – London Swimming Pool Company (LSPC) and Sports Generation – have combined their expertise to market Pool Rental to a wider audience. Pool Rental enables pool owners to rent their pool for private swimming lessons for children whilst

simultaneously benefitting from enhanced servicing of their pool and the potential to earn a significant annual income. Programmes are flexible, allowing pool owners to rent their pools for as many or few hours as desired. Sports Generation is a high calibre swimming coaching company founded in 2012 to

deliver superior quality shared private swimming lessons to babies, toddlers and children. LSPC designs, builds and services luxury pools, spas and wellness facilities in London and the Homes Counties, identical geographical territories as the Sports Generation venues. Both parties will invite pool owners to join the Pool Rental programme, giving them the opportunity to increase the number of pools offering swimming classes to children and babies. LSPC will help to widen the number of pools in Sport Generation’s pool

portfolio by offering Servicing clients the opportunity to get involved and benefit from renting their pools. Chris Walker, Head of Servicing at LSPC said: “Our service engineers will conduct surveys on pools as they come into the programme, and if required will undertake any remedial work needed to bring the pools up to the standard required for swimming lessons. Subsequently, we will provide regular servicing of the pools.” LSPC 020 8605 1255 www.londonswimmingpools.com
