World Leisure Completes £1.5m Refurbishment Of Ribby Hall’s Facilities Leyland-based World Leisure has completed a £1.5m overhaul of the wet leisure facilities at Ribby Hall Village Holiday Park in Wrea Green, Lancashire. Opened in 1997, the park’s pool is well known for its water slides and was given a refurbishment eight years ago, but bosses at the attraction decided the time was right for a complete revamp. One of the highlights in the revitalised pool area is a new 48m interactive play slide. As guests and members come down the slide, they can play an interactive touchpad game, with scores recorded once the ride is complete. Results can then be uploaded to social media platforms, with the top three scores displayed in the pool area. World Leisure also refurbished the splash pool and added an interactive aqua deck play structure, with tipping buckets and integral slides. Mark Leech, Senior Manager of Ribby Hall Village, said: “It is important as a business to continually invest and improve the facilities we offer to our customers. We believe the new interactive slide and new splash pool features will be real talking points that will bring family visitors back again and again. “The project was a challenging one, because the pool forms the centre of the building and, as a result, new access ways had to be created for members and guests, so they could continue to use the other facilities while works were in progress. “World Leisure has been excellent in really fast-tracking the installation with zero compromise on quality – with work that would normally take between 6 and 12 months completed within 12 weeks.” pool, with a slide and steps to open the pools up to all ages. A new sauna, steam room and feature showers, with all new filtration and controls were also installed by the company.

Hippo Bring A Splash To Exmouth Leisure Centre Hippo have recently worked in partnership with Alliance Leisure to install a range of interactive splash toys at Exmouth Leisure Centre. The bright and vibrant play features have been designed to increase water confidence in toddlers and young children of all abilities. Features include a colourful under the sea themed toddler slide with port hole mirrors. Toddlers can race up the steps at either side of the slide to see who can reach the top to slide into the pool first! Four aquatic themed play panels are mounted onto the pool wall at water level. They feature a selection of underwater visuals as well as mirrors, which children will enjoy peering at to watch their reflection. Two extra large interactive play panels infill the two central handrails leading down the steps into the pool. The panels

will encourage toddlers and less water confident children to enter the water. Each two-sided panel features a colourful underwater design with a series of moving sea characters, games and mirrors which provide tactile, visual and auditory stimulation. Alliance Leisure provides a unique solution to Local Authorities and Trusts wishing to develop quality leisure facilities with or without the need for capital expenditure. Alliance’s Business Development Manager, Julia Goddard commented: “The play feature installation aims to enhance the appeal to children and encourage more families to visit the centre

regularly, therefore boosting visitor numbers and revenue. The team at Hippo have been a pleasure to work with. Hippo has worked hard to ensure the design of the play area accommodates Exmouth Leisure Centre’s specific needs. The play features have been specially designed so that they can be installed around the pool, ensuring that

activities and classes within the pool are still able to take place. We will look forward to working with Hippo on more water play projects in the future.” Alliance Leisure 01278 444944 Hippo Leisure 01752 771740 28/05/2017 17:42
