A Winter Addition From Jacuzzi® – The New J-225™ With winter setting in, the colder months are the perfect time of year to benefit from hot tub hydrotherapy massage to keep muscles flexible and aches and pains at bay. With Christmas just around the corner, Jacuzzi® has delivered a brand new addition to its product portfolio that will enable even more people to enjoy the relaxing benefits of water therapy during the festive season. The brand new J-225™ hot tub from Jacuzzi® is one of the iconic brand’s most affordable tubs to date. Offering a pivot bench seat for flexibility and comfort, the tub is ideal for patios or small spaces, with its low profile seating able to accommodate up to five adults, so owners can enjoy the benefits of a hot tub with friends and family. The hot tub’s tested jet placement utilises classic jets set within its ergonomic seats

to provide great levels of hydrotherapy, which is especially important heading into the winter months. With features including 23 jets, a relaxing waterfall and a LED lighting system, the J-225™ is also low maintenance and energy efficient. In addition to a two-stage filtration system, which includes surface skimmer and pleated filter, the CLEARRAY® system in the tub uses the same UV-C technology that drink manufacturers, waste water plants, hospitals and other health care environments use to filter their water without the need for added gas, chemicals, or other by-products to clean the water.

Catalina Spas Brand Under New US Ownership

Headed by Boyd Cargill, one of the USA’s bestknown industry personalities, Catalina spas and swim spas have been manufactured in the same California based facility by the same family for nearly 40 years. The brand have been at the forefront of design and innovation and were one of the first to introduce many of the features that are now standard on a lot of today’s spas and swim spas. Since 1978, Catalina USA has established its reputation of hand built high-end quality spas on reliability, great design and value for money. In 1997 Catalina Spas Ltd was formed to represent the brand both here in the UK, and in other parts of Europe, and the Wiltshire based company are proud to be entering their 20th year of continuous trading with their success and longevity based on the same production principals and customer service. Boyd Cargill recently took the decision to retire and sell the company that he has loved and cherished for over 39 years. The business interests have been acquired by LPI inc, a company that specialises in mid-range spas who were looking for a high-end spa and swim spa manufacturer to acquire. This then is both a perfect end and beginning that opens a new and exciting chapter in the future developments of the Catalina brand and product range. Factory production will be relocated from California to a new 318,000 sq ft facility in Tennessee, where production will not only continue to use the best materials available, but will also use a number of components manufactured in house too. Going forward, the spa, swim spa and pool range will have some exciting new models and the spa range will be expanded with the introduction of more entry-level acrylics. The developments will allow Catalina to increase production to keep up with demand whilst reducing production and shipping times. Catalina Spas 01980 611555

Strato Blends In Perfectly With Modern Living Spaces RivieraPool has completely overhauled its spa range so as to address the current trend of outdoor living. Available as built-in or portable spas and for indoor and for outdoor use, the company’s new Strato model is offered in two sizes and looks like it will set new standards with respect to looks, features and functionality. One of the new features on the Strato is the Lounge2Cover feature – a hard-top that becomes a daybed. The weather and winterproof cover made of vinyl fabric insulates and protects the spa. It can be opened and closed effortlessly thanks to its lightweight construction, yet it is robust enough to carry two people and turns into a daybed for chilling out after a spa session. RivieraPool has also used new materials for its spa cabinets – in particular for portable spas that are used outdoors – the manufacturer is offering cabinets made from weatherproof Resysta panels. The material, which has long been used in architecture, shipbuilding and furniture design, consists of special polymeric composites with rice husks. As the material is water

resistant, it is perfect for use outdoors or in wet areas. Resysta panels are available in a wide range of colours with a stylish wooden look. This development is part of an integral design concept: “As Resysta is also frequently used in façade engineering as well as for pool or terrace decking, it is possible to harmonise the look of the whirlpool with the overall design,” explained Marketing Manager Uwe Rengers. The technical spa equipment is hidden behind the removable panels and is easily accessible at all times. Optimal insulation of the equipment compartment is provided by high-tech polyurethane insulating boards. The waste heat of the pumps is recovered to help heat the bath water.
