Showing Wet Leisure In Its Best Possible Light

Over recent years, lighting technology and know-how has developed at a fantastic rate and a wide range of wet leisure facilities have benefited from the advances that have been made. Innovative fibre optic and LED lighting solutions are now enhancing both commercial and domestic environments across the country and in this issue, we focus on just some of the illuminating options that are brightening up the market By Jon Wadeson

ith a vast number of options currently available for a wide range of wet leisure settings, it’s no exaggeration to say that the latest lighting technologies have literally transformed the look of many of today’s wet leisure installations in both domestic and commercial environments, allowing them to be seen in their best possible light. Super efficient LED’s have become the accepted choice of professionals across a variety of projects and their use has meant that the plain yet functional white lights, with the occasional filter on show, have almost been consigned to the dustbin of history. Well, almost – their time is certainly running out and it’s easy to see why. LED is a far more sustainable lighting solution. They do not generate toxic waste, they have a longer service life and they consume significantly less energy to work resulting in a greatly reduced environmental impact. In addition, a mix of well thought out lighting can provide some stunning effects inside swimming pools, spas and more, enhancing certain features and a project’s aesthetics, plus they can also be used externally to soften walls and other finishes too.
