hould every pool have a cover... yes. Should it be automatic… if the budget allows, absolutely. Of course bubble and debris covers have their place but the huge advantages of automated offerings are many and varied. An automatic cover can be installed in a number of different ways that will ‘hide’ any signs of mechanics to suit the layout of the pool and customer preferences. They look good, no flapping about in the wind, they stay put when open and neatly hide away when closed. They come in a myriad of colour choices and materials. They save money too as they require less pool chemicals and maintenance and if they are of the solar or thermal variety, they actually help to heat the pool. What’s not to like? And with so many new innovations and a variety of prices to suit most pockets, automatic covers should be automatically included in any new build or refurbishment quote and we take a look at what’s on offer.

to match the pool. Along with this RolloSolar have the automated in-ground dry pit system which is becoming very popular. Slats are of the highest quality and available in three widths – from the 9/50mm entry level slat to 13/60mm and 15/80mm four chamber PVC or polycarbonate slats, which maximise floatation whilst reducing the possible build-up of algae. Lighthouse are also able to offer foam filled slats from the Eco cover range. A range of slat colours are available including White, Blue, Grey, Ivory, transparent plus various coloured solar versions. A RAL colour service is also available for customers looking for that special effect in the pool of their dreams. The in-roller motor used is a product of RolloSolar’s in-house design team. Built on site, it boasts a minimum use time of over 3,000 hours which in turn offers an operating life span of over ten years. Being built on-site has significant advantages as the quality control is second to none and it adds assurance that customers are buying into a high quality brand.
