Our annual Whitehouse Country Manor Holiday Open House will be held on Thursday, December 8th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This annual event is put on for our residents and their families to enjoy. There will be a delicious holiday appetizer buffet set up by none other than our Chef Gordon, our Whitehouse Country Manor Dietary Manager! Please make sure that you call and let us know how many people in your family will be attending. Please RSVP to our WHCM Receptionist at 419-877-5338 Monday thru Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM. We all hope to see you there!

Whitehouse Country Manor Holiday Craft Bazaar Friday, December 9th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturday, December 10th from 9:00 AM to Noon there will be some exciting holiday activity here at Whitehouse Country Manor! We will be having a delicious soup and bread luncheon (only $2.00!), handmade blankets made by our very own

December 2011 WHCM Red Hat Ladies, Sewing by Marnie, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Avon, Tupperware and other crafts. We’re also having a bake sale! Make sure you take some time to stop by and eat lunch and browse through our bazaar and pick up some Christmas presents!

Don’t Forget Community Bingo!

Community Bingo is coming up Wednesday, December 7th at the Community of Christ Lutheran Church from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. Come and join us for BINGO, refreshments and some really good BINGO prizes! We have a great time with our Whitehouse Country Manor residents, some community participants and even the Margaret Hunt Center who comes by with sometimes 15 to 20 guests! Our little community BINGO is becoming quite popular! Come and join us!

Christmas Lights Outing! Wednesday, December 14th come and join us as we travel along the river in search of the best holiday display! Our destination? Why it will be 107 Birch Street in Rossford where 80,000 lights blink and dance to the music of the Trans Siberian Orchestra! If you would like to see this display for yourself, just tune your radio to 97.7 and enjoy the show!

Christmas Celebrations! Residents at Whitehouse Country Manor will be celebrating Christmas with special visits from the North Pole! West Christmas Party will be on Wednesday, December 21st with entertainment of Bluegrass/Christmas by “Just Us 2”. East Christmas Party will be on Friday, December 23rd with entertainment by Laurie Burdine. Our Christmas Day will be made even more special again this year as we are joined by the Masters Family for a Holiday Sing Along with our residents! Paul Masters is an STNA who is employed here at WHCM and shares his talent for guitar! Paul always gets rave reviews for his guitar playing!

• Seasonal mobiles, pictures and/or a bulletin board to hang in a loved one’s room • Gift certificates to a favorite restaurant (include a date) • Pre-addressed and stamped envelopes with note cards and pen • Sun catcher • Bird feeder to hang on window and offer to refill it on a regular basis • Warm socks or slippers with non-skid soles • Sweaters that can be laundered • Specialty product from your part of the country • 2012 calendar that ties into loved one’s interests • Washable shawl or lap quilts • Audio books or large print books

Holiday Gift Suggestions: You don’t have to spend a lot of money to give someone a gift! Here are some suggestions of low cost gifts for senior citizens! • Offer to write down or record memories or stories • Poem or letter describing how much that person means to you • Offer to mend something that needs it • Photo album or scrapbook of pictures of “favorites” (people, places, flowers, animals, food) • Hand printed invitation for dinner • Donation to a charity or cause in a person’s name
