1.1 ABOUT THE STUDIO

STUDIO RUH Studio Ruh is young interior design firm established in September 2018. At Studio Ruh we believe in creating spaces that have soul, while passionately protesting mediocrity. To us every client is unique, and brings to us a very unique brief. We thrive on translating that brief and vision into a space that makes the client happy, every day of their life. Kavya Sheth Founder | Interior Designer

Bangalore raised and Italy trained, Kavya obtained her Masters in Interior Design from Scuola Politecnica di Design, Milan. After working with some prominent design studios in the cities of Milan, Reggio Emilia, and Bangalore, Kavya founded Studio Ruh in 2018. She is motivated to create spaces that make people feel good. She strongly believes that customer happiness is the ultimate goal, and takes pride on the level of service and attention to detail Studio Ruh provides.

Peninsula Height is a 4 BHK apartment that lies in a core residential area of Bangalore. The residential space is designed for a family of 3. The design language of the whole space is a good blend of modern and comtemporary designs. The spacious house is intented to have a good blend of various Italin marbles, teak wood and veneer.

3.1 MERCHANT RESIDENCE

Merchant Residence Is a beautiful apartment in JP Nagar. The BHK house is deigned for a senior couple where they could spend thier retired life is luxury and comfort. The design of the whole space involves carefully curated design elements and materials. They old couple has some of thier old furniture pieces which they wanted to retain, whereas there were a few completely new furniture to be custom made. The design intent of the furniture was thought through carefully and was given to Aanai Studio for curation. There is a good material play inisde the house. From stunning solid teak wood to the slate wall; rattan to silk fabic; light to handles and knobs, everything is hand picked.

3.1 AT RUH

My job description involves:

This description were mentioned in my internship contract; however, I have been assigned with more interesting and challenging job responibilties at work such as solo site supervision, inspection, pitching of my own ideas for projects, specing out project scope and making structure for BOQs, decision making on site, etc. It was sacry at first, but my mentor always motivated me to take decisions and pushed me to build up my confidence everyday.

• Design and developement of design and working drawings • Researching new materials and finding vendors for the same • Complete project coordination and management • Client interaction and meeting presentations • Contractor interactions and management .

I was assigned to make solo site visits for supervison and tile selection for differnt clients right after the completion on my first month at office. My mentor, the owner of the studio was travelling outside India and I was given the responsibility to take care of the on going projects. That was a very big opportunity for me to understand every project and take decisions on my own when in need. That

Right after two years of college, it felt surreal when I got in an actual office. Studio Ruh is a very young company. I had always wanted to work with a start up company as I had always imagined myself with my own firm some years down the line. My first day since office until today has been the most knowlegdeble and learning experience of my life so far.

was one of the biggest push factors for me to grow into a confident designer. Every single day at office has been very positive and full of good energy. Apart from work there something called a team bonding, sense of belongingness and personal morals and values. At work, we had a very good bonding amongst the team. We always restepcted each others norms and values. That is they key factor that has helped me keep myself balanced in between my work and my personal life. This also maintains peace in between the team.
