Provincetown Conservation Trust Map
Welcome to Appearances: Provincetown Green Arts Festival,
a celebration of arts and the environment. We are honored to present the works of over 100 visual, literary, conceptual and performance artists, focused on the theme of ‘Green Art’. Sponsored by the Provincetown Conservation Trust, our hope is that this event will not only bring fresh, diverse artistic perspectives to Provincetown, but will also raise awareness of the natural beauty and delicate environmental balance for which we are the stewards, so that future generations may also experience this amazing place. Thank you for your participation and patience in this event’s first year – Enjoy APPEARANCES Event Committee Members Dorothy Palanza – Founder, Chair Dave Brunetti Judy Cicero William Fittts Celine Gandolfo Jay Hall

Do you like to walk in the woods, bogs, dunes and beaches? Do you have a special interest in birding, wildlife, flowers, gardening or photography that you’d like to share? Join the Trust and have fun doing important conservation work! The Provincetown Conservation Trust (the Trust) is a non-profit organization that has been protecting the natural landscape of Provincetown for over 30 years. We accept donations of land, buy land and manage properties – ours, and those owned by Provincetown -- in order to conserve wooded slopes, heath lands, bogs, swamps, marshes and gardens, outside of the Cape Cod National Seashore. These provide essential biodiversity and preserve the treasured landscapes at the heart of our unique quality of life. As important as it is to acquire new land, our careful stewardship of resources and lands already protected is just as vital, as is promoting education and awareness of our fragile environment. The Trust’s long-term strategies include directing growth away from sensitive areas towards sites better suited for development, and making strategic purchases so that newly preserved open space contributes to a pattern of conserved land that includes wildlife corridors and a greenway of managed preserves, footpaths, and pocket parks from east to west. We were founded by local residents, and always welcome new members and volunteers from anywhere, who share our appreciation of nature and our vision of a sustainable, healthy ecosystem for Provincetown.

Although human subtlety makes a variety of inventions by different means to the same end, it will never devise an invention more beautiful, more simple, or more direct than does nature, because in her inventions nothing is lacking, and nothing is superfluous. --Leonardo DaVinci
