Julia Reitz Web and Graphic Designer
Hi, I’m Julia and here is why you want to hire me: I love to design. It is what I enjoyed, experienced and perfected most during the past 41.66% of my life. I love working in a team, I meet deadlines and my designs are pretty wicked. Due to my German nature I am very organised and punctual (unless there are leaves on the track). German is also a very funny language, so if you need a great designer who offers a bit of entertainment, you might have just found your new employee!
Education 1990 – 1996 Birth and early life Apart from being super cute, I developed my drawing skills on my parent’s furniture (they kept it until I was 14, so it must have been pretty awesome).
1996 – 2000 Primary school (Heideschule, Cologne) When I wasn’t busy beating Mario on my GameBoy, I loved everything about school. Especially Maths and Geography (don’t ask me why).
2000 – 2009 Secondary School (MKG, Cologne) German certificate qualifying for University entrance Advanced courses: German and English With 13 I started to create my own websites. I also fancied Jude Law (well, who doesn’t?), which is why my first layout featured him (I didn’t know much about copyright infringement). With 16 I won a full time scholarship for a Design University, so I didn’t have to worry about that, which was nice.
2009 – 2012 Cologne Design Academy Diploma in Graphic Design Apart from the first lesson “How to turn on a Mac”, I learnt amazing things, including: • Art history • Print technology • Typography • Web Design • Editorial Design
2012 – 2013 Middlesex University, London 2.1 BA in Graphic Design I moved to London to finish my Bachelor’s degree and decided to stay after falling in love the city. During my studies I took part in D&AD (shortlisted), YCN (shortlisted) and RSA (shortlisted). My seminars included : • Web Design • Haptic Design • Magazine Design • Advertising Design
