Human Emotion Antonio Panzera


An Introduction... To define the pure divinity that it is to be human, you need to understand that every action, motivation, reaction and decision comes down to pure emotion. Each facial movement, physical act or emotional state is ironically controlled by something we have no control over. But by gaining control, you lose the ability to separate yourself from the other procreating species and ultimately lose the pleasure of something truly unique; the pleasure of being human.

To truly let go of control is to grasp the very moment your engulfed in. Whether it be appropriate or otherwise. The following pages will portray emotions we all use in the purest state they could ever be captured. The idea is to show that its okay to feel, okay to lose control and okay to be as human as we want to be as without that freedom. We will be only ever drifted to a pure satisfactory state of being.

Happiness... When a person is happy, your mind state is completely chaged. Socially you become relaxed, more respondent and show a side of yourself which reflects potentially the best that you are. However the feeling runs deeper then that. When a person achieves happiness they can become more efficient. more proficient and ulitmately every other emotion turns positive due to fundementally just one chemical release.

Happiness here is achieved merely by taking part of a fun social situation. It is in human nature to find companions, whether romantic or not, and when we find the right individuals there is a moment when people almost click into place and unlock each others happiness just by being in the other persons company. Ranging from contentment to extreme joy, a person can simply achieve happiness from a simple taste, an ideal relationship to achieving something beyond your own or others expectations.

Sadness... It is our feelings that allow us to connect to humanity as a whole. Sadness is the emotion which brings us together and enables people to connect when vulnerability is on display. When you feel sad, it is important to give your self permission to feel. only then can you start to let go of your initial feelings. Whether it be the loss of a friend, family member, job, pet or otherwise you feel overwhelmed, as if your heart has sunk or a lump in your throat is holding back tears. To feel sadness is to have a soul.

A childs sadness displays the emotion at almost its fundemetal state. A child is sad due to the fact he has lost something, confused, ambivilent but most of all unable to comprehend the overwhelming feelings. An individual with a better understnading of emotion would be able to identify and catergorise the symptoms however a child simply displays its effects without considering its origins. Whether they weep, scream, shout or simply mourn, when a child is sad you are shown visually, the foundation of sadness.

Love... The Greek language divides the definition of love into 4 words. Agape is the true type of the love. The side of love which runs deeper then attraction and is attained by friends and family and even long term partners. Eros defines intimate love. The type of love which ties in with sensual and sexual deisre and the wanting of eachothers pysicality. Philia is affectionate of freindship love usuallk reseved for long term friends and the equality towards eveyone. Finally Storge is the tolorate kind of love which familys need if they are going to stick and stay together.

Love is an incredibly powerful word. When in love, you always want to be with that person and when you not you wish you were as love makes you feel as if without them life is incomplete. Whether it be lustfull or platonic, love makes you do anything to keep it, makes you sacrifice to justify it and above all makes you feel whole with youself as you feel valued and treasured by another. The feeling overcomes you and leaves you with that feeling of serentiy. Whether its the love of family or partner, its unconditoinal affection with no limits and only trust.
