TAPPING INTO THE SEASON partnerships for post-secondary linkages as we begin to have significant numbers of our beneficiaries transitioning into and out of universities and tertiary institutions. Let me thank all our partners and friends for their continued support and words of encouragement. Without them it would be difficult for us to fulfil our mandate. I commend the effort put by our lean management team under the leadership of the Trust Secretary & CEO who despite the limited resources worked diligently and with commitment. I also thank the executive board and my fellow trustees who continue to work selflessly and to serve with distinction. Finally, on behalf of the board of trustees and the entire Edumed family let me bid farewell and thank Dr. Solomon Mwangi, vision bearer, founder and trustee who has requested to step down as a trustee at the end of 2013, for his exemplary service to the trust. I can only concur with the writer of Hebrews 6:10 “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them”. To God be the glory. George N. Macgoye EBS, OGW Chairman Edumed Trust

Message from the Chairman The Edumed Trust journey continues to be underpinned by the faithfulness of God. We adopted the theme “Tapping into the season” to guide our programmes and activities as the nation marks its Golden jubilee. The year begun with a heightened political activity as the nation prepared for a transition general election. One of the effects of this political uncertainty was that some of our partners, especially individual supporters who are our core funders, delayed their support but once the elections were over faithfully honoured their pledges. We are grateful to NIC Bank Limited that renewed its partnership with us for another four years up to 2016 whilst increasing its support by 50%. As we welcome new partners both individual and

corporate who have joined us in this work, my plea to us is that we should intensify outreach to ensure that we recruit those that need to be with us. As part of the mid-term review of our current strategic plan 2010-2014, the trustees and executive board members held a retreat in November 2012 to take stock and re-focus. We are keen to consolidate our gains as we strengthen our corporate structures and position ourselves for a greater expanded role in meeting the needs of the needy amongst us and doing so with a stronger and sustainable trust. We are also actively pursuing
