4 Product description •

The control system of the RAINCENTER PRO checks and manages the rainwater harvesting system.

The Raincenter Pro Basic supplies rainwater for use such as WC-flushing, garden irrigation and washing machine automatically with rainwater or mains water. As long as sufficient rainwater is in the storage tank, the consumers are supplied with rainwater. With lack of rainwater the changeover takes place automatically to mains water operation.

The mains water operation meets the requirements according to DIN 1988 and EN 1717.

If necessary the control can operate in a manual mode. Then the pump takes exclusive mains water out of the mains water storage tank in the device.

In a cycle of 30 days the control arranges automatically a water exchange in the mains water storage tank.

• Level the wall holder with a water level and screw the wall holder tight. Now take the screws to

mount the device ➆. Place the device on the wall holder and screw it loose. Therefore are 2 holes on the bottom of the device. The screws make the thread by themselves.

• Mark the upper fixing point. Replace the device again. Now you have to drill a hole on the marked place. For preventing a offset of the holes it is better to drill at first with an 8 mm drill bit and after it with an 14 mm drill bit to make the hole for the dowel.

• Now take the screw, sound protection dowel and flat washer ➅. Place the device on the wall holder again and screw the upper screw loose. Now take the screws to mount the device ➆ and clamp the device. Do not angle the device directly on the wall. For finishing you can screw the upper screw slowly. Ensure that the device is not connected directly to the wall. For making the device quieter we suggest to use the silent kit. There you have to glue a sound protecting mat into the cover hood.

The module can have a weight of more then 40 kg in usage, so it is necessary to use special dowels or thread bars to mount the system on the wall.

5.3 Mains water connection • The mains water connection is on the left side of the device. Replace the cap. Take the flexible hose ¾ " with a flat gasket ➀. Put in the gasket and connect the hose to the mains water connector on the device. It is important to hold the float valve while you tighten the mains water connection.

Please note: During connection to the mains water line with the device you have to hold the float valve.

If the pressure on the line is more than 4.0 bar or there are pressure tops or it is possible to have pressure blows it is necessary to use a pressure reducer. It has to reduce the pressure down to 4.0 bar We suggest to use a stopcock in the mains water line to stop the water for maintenance or breaks of usage such as holidays. The mains water line should be cleaned before connecting with the device. If there is no fine filter in the utility line of the house we suggest you to install a fine filter in the mains water line. Therefore the best way is to use strainer made of brass.

5.4 Suction pipe connection • The suction pipe connection is on the top right. Replace the stopper. We suggest you to use a flexible hose to connect the suction pipe. It is Important to hold the suction socket while you clamp the line.

Please note: During connection to the suction line with the suction socket you have to hold the socket.

Please ensure that the suction pipe is vacuum-tight. Do not use a fine filter, water meter etc in the suction pipe. These units are unnecessary flow resistances. If you use filters it can be possible that they clog and damage the pump. ➙ The usage of a floating tapping device is enough protection to the pump. During the laying of the suction pipe please ensure that no dirt enters the pipe! If you can not exclude this you have to clean the pipe before you connect it to the device.

5.6 Overflow • The overflow is on the right side of the device and is made as a connecting sleeve for a HT-pipe DN 70.

Examble for connection

To protect the device from backwater you have to use a free outlet in the sewage pipe. It is not allowed to connect the elbow pipe without a free outlet to the sewage pipe. If you connect the overflow to the sewage system you have to use a siphon trap. The free outlet in the sewage pipe has to be higher then the level of backed-up water. If this is impossible you have to use a pump station to dispose of the water. It is not allowed to block the emergency overflow. Otherwise the mains water can be contaminated. The DIN EN 12506 and DIN 1988 / EN 1717 are to be observed.

6 Starting up Before you use the device you must read all installation and operating instructions. Install the sensors (Basic: ➇, Comfort ➈ + ➉) as explained in the installation and operating instruction of the control unit.

The earthing contact socket for the device has to be protected with a FI protective circuit. You have to consider the VDE regulations and safety specifications.

1. At first you have to fill the pump and if necessary the suction pipe with water. The easiest way to fill the pump with water is to unscrew the control unit of the pump. In the open pressure socket you can fill water with a watering can or a tube. If the pump is filled you have to screw the control unit to the pump.

Unscrew this connection

2. Open the mains water intake. The mains water tank in the device will start to fill with water. 3. After the float valve has closed by itself you have to check it for closeness. If there are pressure variations in the system it is possible that there drops or leaks of water. This process takes some time. You can check the process by opening the float valve for a short time manually.

4. Plug in the power plug and program the control unit as explained in the installation and operating instruction. Therefore the sensor has to be installed in the right way in the rainwater storage tank.

5. Set the device into the mains water operation: ➙

Press the ON key (LED TWN manuell will light)

6. Open a permanent consumer. Push the red button on the control unit of the pump to let the air in the suction line escape. Usually the pump will run now in the mains water mode. It can be necessary to push the red button several times. If the pump runs 1 - 2 minutes without pushing the red button you can close the consumer. The device is now ready to use the mains water mode.

12

Installation instruction Raincenter Pro

7. The starting up in the rainwater mode can happen, if there is enough water in the tank. If you use the factory settings you need at minimum 30 cm rainwater in the tank. Now you need to remove the air out of the suction pipe. This process needs more time the longer your pipe is. You can reduce this time by filling the pipe with water. Set the operating mode to automatic operation: ➙

Press the OFF key

Open a permanent consumer. Push the red button on the control unit of the pump until the sound of the pump changes and makes pressure by itself. This process takes up to 5 minutes. After this let the pump work for 3 minutes to ensure there is no more air in the pipe.

8. Close the vents on the device by using the yellow closing plugs. The device is now ready to use.
