Asantae Java HAS up to antioxidants than other gourmet coffees Asantae has set a new standard for measuring the antioxidant value of coffee. ORAC is a popular method many people use to measure antioxidant levels in food. The challenge is that ORAC scores do not indicate whether the antioxidants are actually absorbed or do anything beneficial in the body. Asantae measured a specific antioxidant, chlorogenic acid (CGA), because it’s the major one found in coffee and studies have shown that CGA is absorbed and metabolized by the body. An independent third-party laboratory measured the CGA level, as well as the total antioxidant level, of Asantae Java in comparison to other gourmet coffee brands. Frequently Asked Questions Is coffee already rich in antioxidants? Unroasted coffee beans are one of the richest sources of antioxidants, particularly potent plant-based antioxidants known as polyphenols. Unfortunately most of these powerful antioxidants never make into your coffee cup because the traditional roasting process destroys them. Asantae Java is made with an exclusive roasting process that preserves the natural antioxidant value of coffee beans.

What is the HealthyRoast™ process? Asantae Java is made with an exclusive, triple-patented HealthyRoast® process. This 100% natural process is the culmination of years of research and development from food scientists. The HealthyRoast process extracts and concentrates the antioxidants from the coffee bean into liquid then carefully meters it into the coffee at the end of the roasting process. Essentially, we take the antioxidants out, roast the beans, and then put them back in without affecting the taste or aroma. Every batch of coffee is also measured for antioxidant content by a third-party laboratory before it can be called Asantae Java.

What are antioxidants and why are they important? Free radicals are naturally released in our bodies when our cells use oxygen but can easily become damaged. Stress, poor diet, metabolism and environmental factors like smoking and air pollution can contribute to the amount of free radicals in your body. Antioxidants help protect your body from damaging free radicals that can cause disease and health issues. Our bodies cannot produce enough antioxidants without some help from food and dietary supplements to combat these potentially dangerous stresses.

How are Asantae Java coffee beans harvested? We’ve scouted the pristine tropical rainforests of Central America for mineral-rich soil that is worthy enough to produce coffee beans that exceed our demands for robust flavor. The coffee beans are grown at high altitudes with less oxygen so the bean has time to mature and develop a full, rich and delicate flavor. The coffee is actually a small cherry that is made up of two coffee beans and is picked at ideal ripeness. Within hours of picking, the cherries are de-pulped, fermented to remove the fruit film, washed, and then sun dried.

The beans are extracted from the cherry. Only the finest quality ones make our cut. Samples of the beans are examined, roasted, ground, brewed and tasted by experts to certify their quality. The beans are roasted to our unique blend specifications using our proprietary process. Our roasting professionals “cup” or analyze our coffee for aromas, texture, sweetness, acidity and flavor to ensure it meets our high standards.

Is Asantae Java good for the environment? We respect the land and the people that share in our passion for great coffee. You won’t find any pesticides, commercial fertilizers or chemicals of any kind in our coffee bean process which has earned us the distinction of being certified USDA organic.
