Fall 2012 The purpose of this project was to design a weather observatory utilizing a selected site on Philadelphia Unviersity campus. The site is located towards the far corner of the Ravenhill Recreation Field, where sunlights acts of the observatory at critical points in the day. The position of the observatory on the site towards the trees, reduces noise and naturally cools the building for its inhabitants. The design was planned around the concept of being as least invasive to the field, but spacially functional. -------------Site Details------------location allows access to one side but is hidden by the site on the other side. -positioned so the focal point is the recreation field. -little interference with site activites -sunlight for most of the day (heat during the winter months)
