a really tough time and was refuging myself in any kind of music.

This is not an easy process but with Christ all things are possible. Deuteronomy 31:8 “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” No matter how much you may have sinned or separated yourself from God, He is always listening and waiting for you to go back to Him. And every single time He will be waiting for you with open arms. God is not one to judge you and decide His love for you based on your sins or bad decisions. His word says “nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39). Jesus already died for all our sins and has forgotten them all. Doesn't mean you should live your life sinning all the time expecting God to forgive you each time so easily. If you are sinning with the intentions of it, the repercussions are worst. Luke 15:20 “...His father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.”

Songs that, in the moment made me feel good and pumped and ready for anything, but once the song would end, I’d felt miserable once again and even guilty because I knew they were no good for me.

Music is one of many things that can be a weakness. Anything can become a drug or a weapon to kill your spirit and lead you far from God. But the choice is up to you if you will fight the good battle, hold on to Christ and do what your spirit asks from you, and not what your soul wants.

I decided to make a slight change in the middle of my day and listen to music that I knew would probably make me feel better. Then the unexplainable occured. The change of music made a complete change inside of me. Something that had never occurred before. It was as though a white fluffy warm blanket appeared and completely covered the dirty, wet, black rock that was forming within me. In that moment I experienced my spirit taking over my soul and my decisions.

John 3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” 55

FAITH

l l i t S e B

“THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU; YOU NEED ONLY TO BE STILL." EXODUS 14:14 It can be difficult to be still and have faith when we’re in the middle of our trials. When things just seem to be getting worse, when things don’t seem to be going your way, or maybe when you see nothing moving in your life at all.

We might feel pressure from ourselves, from others, or from the world in general, to have certain things or be in a certain place at this point in our lives. Sometimes we try to take control over our situations and make decisions that we think is best. Then we find ourselves going after things or wanting things that may not be for us. We let ourselves be overcome by our own emotions and we don’t stop to ask ourselves if this is something that God wants for us or something that we want for ourselves. The truth of the matter is that waiting is not easy nor is it supposed to be because this is where our faith comes in. God waited through all our stubbornness, denial, rejection, anger, worry, and ignorance. He waited when we did not want to hear or see what it is He had planned for us. He waited when we went to seek comfort and consolation elsewhere. For some of us He waited for years, until we had to hit rock bottom. He was always so good and so patient with us, even when we weren’t with Him. Do we think that it was easy for Abraham to believe that God was going to give him and Sarah a child in their old age? For Joseph, when his brothers sold him into slavery and he was later imprisoned for a crime he did not commit? Or for Job, when he had lost all his family, his belongings, and was gravely ill? It wasn’t. They even questioned and doubted God’s plan behind it all.

“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire —may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” 1 Peter 1:6-7 In His time, Abraham and Sara had a son. Joseph became the second most powerful man in all of Egypt and helped his entire family escape the famine in Canaan. God had given Job double the fortune he lost, more children, and allowed him to live another 140 years. He has planned out every little detail of our lives, before we were even conceived. We may not be able to see or understand God’s plan for us but all we need to do is have faith that He knows what it is that we need. The Bible says that His plans are not to harm us, but to prosper us (Jeremiah 29:11). When we begin to feel impatient or uneasy, it’s important to hold on to our faith and our prayers. He wants us to trust Him with our lives and trust that He knows best, not us. He fights our battles for us when we can no longer fight for ourselves. He sees you, He sees your battles, and He hears your prayers, so trust and have hope that He is working. “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

ACTIVATING SPIRITUAL GIFTS

By Fernando Martinez

I thank God for this moment of being able to share His word and to glorify His name by witnessing to what God has done in my life. Job 8: 7 “And though you started with little, you will end with much.” I identify a lot with this verse because when I remember my life more than 11 years ago, I see the condition in which I was and in which God has me now. Due to life circumstances I had a childhood without my parents, I did not have a father figure and family (home) love. Growing up without my family filled me with complexes and insecurities. I got to the point of thinking that I was useless and that there was no purpose in my life. I didn't feel useful for anything or anyone, until I met the Lord Jesus Christ, my Father whom I rejected because I didn't believe there was anything good for me in Him. Until one day I let him in my life and I gave in to the opportunity to start a new life in Christ, everything changed.

I want to tell you that you have a Father in heaven who has given you wonderful gifts and talents and that today the Lord Jesus through His Holy Spirit wants to activate in you, all you need is a little faith. The Lord has given us diversities of gifts, according to the capacity and growth in which we find ourselves, with the purpose of being able to edify others and be used to bless, to potentialize others and to give more of what we are receiving from God . The Spirit of God 1Cor 12: 4-6 “Now, there is a diversity of gifts, but the Spirit is the same. And there is diversity of ministries, but the Lord is the same. And there is a diversity of operations, but God, who does all things in all, is the same. ” At this point I imagine that you have to ask yourself, “but what gifts are there from God for me? What do I have? And if I have, what am I doing with them?”

1 Cor 12: 10-11 Some receive power to work miracles, and others have the gift of prophecy. To some, God gives them the ability to distinguish between false spirits and the true Spirit, and to others the ability to speak in tongues; and still others have the ability to interpret what has been said in those languages. But all these things are done with his power by the one and the same Spirit, giving each person what he thinks best.

1 Cor 12:28 God has wanted that in the church there are, in the first place, apostles; Secondly, prophets; thirdly, teachers; then people who work miracles, and others who cure sick, or who help, or who lead, or who speak in tongues.

These are some of the gifts mentioned in the Bible and that I am sure you must have more than one of them. Some Gifts mentioned in the Bible are: Wisdom Knowledge Faith Gifts of Healing Prophecy Discernment of spirits Speaking in tongues Interpreting tongues Teaching Evangelism Help Service Administration Support Leadership Which ones do you have? Today I would like to talk to you about a specific gift that as Christians and believers of the Word of God, we should all have. The gift of FAITH: Hebrews 11: 1 Now, faith is the certainty of what is expected, the conviction of what is not seen. The word of God says that without faith it is impossible to please Him. Once we have taken the first step of praying to accept Christ as our Savior we are putting into use the gift of faith, because our spirit has been the recipient of that act of faith. Faith is the total confidence in the promises of God that does not yield in the face of adverse circumstances.

If you remember at the beginning of this message, I shared of my decision to take the opportunity to start over with Jesus Christ. That decision was a small act of faith, of believing in Someone who I did not see and perhaps did not feel. But from that moment on, my life began to change, I didn't notice it but as time went by, I began to see and feel the miracles of God. The Lord gave me the privilege of serving Him in His work and for the first time I felt that there was Someone important who looked at the result of my service and that received it with pleasure even though I had my problems and my struggles. In the service of His work, I found my restoration, I could feel how the Lord prepared me for many things that I never imagined achieving. Now after my decision, I can testify that I have many of those gifts & and that I am useful in the hands of God.

I want to invite you to make that decision like the one I made a few years ago, and if God has given you promise, wait on Him and keep believing because the day of the fulfillment of those promises is approaching. Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, to lie, nor a son of man to repent. He said, and will not do? He spoke, and he won't execute it? I hope this word is a blessing to your life. We will be talking about the other gifts in the next edition. Now to finish this message, I would like to have the opportunity to bless your life and if you want to be activated in these gifts wherever you are, raise your hands & repeat these words: “Lord Jesus, here is my heart before you. I am willing to receive you in my heart as my Lord and Savior, and I wish that by mercy with your Holy Spirit you activate my gifts that are asleep and that you light the flame within me to serve you with all my being. Amen."
