For Such A Time As This by Tarishan Esters

One Night with the King (2006)………the title of my all-time favorite biblical movie. For many reasons here lately, this movie captivates me from the very moment I click the play button. This movie is a parallel reflection of the book of Esther. If you are familiar with this story, you would know that this young lady is a reflection of the beauty of God’s heart. As fate would have it, she is taken into captivity with other virgins, to be prepared and adorned as a candidate for queen. She spends one night with the king and instead of giving him reasons to choose her as his future queen; she gives him words from the holy bible and in turn, wins his heart. Little did she know that her steps were predestined and orchestrated by God. Psalms 37:23 tells us that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delights in his way. There are many rewards for being a Christian. When we become sensitive to the move of God, he will lead and direct our path and steps so that his perfected will can be accomplished in our lives. God always seek to use hardships and bad situations in our lives so that he can get the glory for the outcome. When God does the leading and directing, we can expect to be in the right place, at the right time, for such a time as this. Esther didn’t think her captivity was a bad thing….she was confident enough in the God of Israel, that he could deliver. Esther knew it had to be a God-thing. I can remember reading a quote that says….if God brings you to it, he will bring you through it. He always provides for where he guides you just have to meet him there, in that place of position. Esther didn’t rely on her own strength; she relied on the strength of her God. Esther 4: 15 reads …..Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” When some situations seem hopeless, we have to push away the plate and feast on his word. Jesus said, this kind only goeth out except by fasting and praying. Fasting makes us sensitive to the voice of God, his promptings, and maneuvering. Fasting is an Old Testament and New Testament ritual that many Christians don’t practice. Fasting weakens the flesh, stirs the spirit, and energizes our faith. Now, tell me who wouldn’t want to enjoy such fruit. This is the type of fruit that remains. These principals are still applicable in this lifetime and the results are just as astounding as ever before. The good thing about God is that he changeth not. He still is all powerful, all wise, all resourceful and indeed almighty!!!! Position yourself for God to maneuver you and orchestrate your path for such a time as this. It’s an awesome and beautiful thing to be in the perfected will of God. He is the true master builder…..unless the Lord builds the house, they that labor, laboreth in vain Psalms 127:1. Esther didn’t fight against her hardship, yet she embraced it and relied on what was planted within her and that was the word of God. She used what she had and in-turn was majestically chosen as queen. Sons and daughters of Zion…..be sensitive to the move of God. Get in position. For who knows, you may be chosen for such a time as this.
