Skogens og utmarkas historie Norsk Skogmuseum er et museum for hele familien som omhandler skog, jakt, fiske og friluftsliv – det eneste av sitt slag i landet. I flotte omgivelser ved Glomma i Elverum finner du Norsk Skogmuseum, som omhandler utmarkas n aturog kulturhistorie i Norge. Museet har f aste utstillinger om skog, skogbruk, jakt og fiske, og et levende akvarium med ferskvannsfisk fra hele landet. tstillingen «Det fantastiske treet» gir s pennende U opplevelser knyttet til trær og skog. Museet, de naturskjønne uteområdene og de spennende friluftsamlingene ved Glomma er tilgjengelig hele året. Museets restaurant, Forstmann, og vår innholdsrike museumsbutikk er populære tilbud hos våre gjester. Gjennom hele året besøkes museet av skolebarn, familier og turister. Det årlige arrangementet «De nordiske jakt- og fiskedager» i august er blitt Norges viktigste møtested for friluftsfolk, jegere og fiskere.

The History of the Forest and the Wilderness The Norwegian Forest Museum is a museum for the whole family, devoted to hunting, fishing, outdoor life, and the forest. It is the only museum of its kind in Norway. You will find the Forest Museum in beautiful surroundings on the banks of the Glomma River near the center of Elverum. While many Norwegian museums tell of our farmsteads and their cultivated farmlands, our story concerns the forests and wilderness. The museum has permanent exhibits about our forests and their use, about hunting and fishing, and it includes a living aquarium with fresh-water fish from the entire country. The exhibit “The Fantastic Tree” provides an exciting experience of trees and forests for both children and adults. The museum, with its beautiful museum park and historical buildings by the Glomma River, is open year-round. The museum’s restaurant, ”Forstmann” and our extensive museum store are both very popular with our guests. School groups, families and tourists visit us throughout the year, while the annual event “The Nordic Hunting and Fishing Days” in August has become Norway’s most important venue for hunting, fresh-water fishermen, and those who use Norway’s great outdoors.
