BRANDING IDENTITY “WAFFURU: THE HAPPY FAMILY”

Waffuru is a Jakarta based waffle brand. Waffuru’s main concern is ‘happiness’, means it will bring happiness to everyone who eat their waffle. Waffuru is Wawa, the passionate chef, Fufu the joyful farmer and Ruru the quirky artist. It uses cats to present the brand, inspired by the Japanese ‘manekineko’, the cat who brings luck.

The project is concentrating on branding identity. I use bright colors to bring the happy muse and simple design to keep it classy. The graphics are applied on stationeries, social media promotion and packaging as explained on its graphic standard manual book.

SUSISUKI

THAI NOODLE AND SOUP Susisuki is a restaurant which has the best Thai Tom Yum soup in Syahdan. The task is to enhance its characteristic and the aim of students as the target by branding identity. The logo represents three main icons from Tom Yum; a bowl, a chili, a shrimp. The shapes are simplified in purpose to reinforce the image created.

The main colors of Susisuki is inspired by the colors of Tom Yum; red is the spicy taste, yellow is the freshness and orange is the soup. The font used in this branding identity is sans serif to be more dynamic and ‘young’. Overall, the design of this branding identity project is made to be more relevant and communicative to the target market.

#RASIS, stands for Ragam Narsis, is a movement which invites the youth to upload a photo that shows a diverse trait (skin color, eye shape, hair type, etc). After that, they should nominate their other friends to join the #RASIS movement. All the photos will be used to create various print ads, TVC, and also Web Banner. The campaign is meant to give a sight that these days we no longer see diversity as an issue but as a beautiful thing which is worth to be proud of, and that’s what makes us whole as a nation who believe in “Bhineka Tunggal Ika”. This project was nominated as BG Award Citrapariwara 2014 finalist.

The campaign intends to urge the young generation to start being active on social media. Ats the net generation grows very rapidly until today, It is a big advantage if we can gain appreciation, notice and self branding through postings or followers in social media. It is predicted that the online and internet world is our next promising future. The campaign is applied in print ad which will be displayed on magazines for youth.

The campaign aims for high school graduates who will continue their study in School of Design Binus University. There are two series; the first one is using satire approach, portraying the common issues of DKV that usually happen when graduates decide to choose design major.

The second one is using ‘no words’ approach, where the idea is SOD Binus University teaches us to be a complete expert in design field, not only excellent in making visuals as the rumor about DKV Binus spread in society.

“ARTBUG”

The task is to make a tabloid design. The theme of the tabloid, ARTBUG, is ‘paper crafting’, so the issue I summarized is all about paper craft. I use minimalism style design to make it simple, modern and informative. The pictures are mostly presented in two tone colors, orange and blue.

Syahzine, which stands for Syahdan Zine, is a form of a campaign material about habitants of Syahdan (Binus campus). The habitants are represented as animals which has the same character, using the antropomorphism method. The campaign aims for everybody who spends a daily routine in Syahdan, so that Syahdan would feel like a second home. Both the contents and context are explained in the infographic.

“the longest bread in jakarta”

Nyam Nyam is a culinary webseries from malesbanget.com, hosted by Michi and Yoora. The interesting food testing in every episode is presented with doodles as cute as them. In the sixth episode, they were about to try the longest bread in Jakarta. Doodles appeared in every emotional and interesting part in the video.

This infographic tells about how much calories Idul Fitri’s food may contain. It is published on malesbanget.com on the day of Idul Fitri 2015. The cuisine told in the infographic is the most common favorite Idul Fitri food such as ketupat, opor ayam, rendang, etc. I use flat illustration to simplify the visual look so the infographic will be informative and easy to understand.
