PORTFOLIO

Primary research photographs – studying colours, patterns, formations and textures of lichens, mosses and fungi

Initial sketches of lichens inspired by primary research studies

Experimental watercolour paintings inspired by the colours and formations in my primary research

I scanned the original watercolour paintings onto a computer and cropped sections using Photoshop. These sections were then printed on a special paper using disperse dye inks. This paper was placed in a heat press with fabric to create disperse dye prints like the example here

Abstract drawings involving watercolour paintings and fine liner mark making – inspired by primary research on lichens, mosses and fungi

Embroidery

I have experimented and explored different techniques and processes in ceramics and textiles, to achieve varying textures and surfaces inspired by my primary studies
