WORK EXPERIENCE

I am an architect, recently graduated from the Master’s Degree in Architecture in Superior Technical Architecture School of Barcelona (ETSAB) (2019). During my studies, I have been interested in understanding the relationship of architecture with its context: the culture, identity, surroundings, whether natural or human-made; to bring it all together in the final design.

1TEATRE ARNAU Reopening Teatre Arnau, Spring 2016 Individual Project, ETSAB Main role: Student Project concept: Enhance the original image of the Theater, which was an icon in Parallel Street in the ’30s.

Arnau Theater is located in a privileged place such as the Paral·lel Avenue and it shows the character that the street has lost over time. That is why this project does not modify the image of the building’s façades, in order to preserve its essence.

Going in the main hall of the Arnau Theater brings the spectator to the Barcelona of the 30’s. Having seen that the Main Room is the one that keep the elements of the time, the objective is accentuate the existence of this one. This is realiced by the reconstruction of the lateral existing building, now completely fragmented. This new building is taken from the facade creating a terrace of entrance to the theater, thus entering the EMPLAÇAMENT 1:2000 street in it. Separating from the past but at the same time collaborating with him.

Structure, Model Details The new lateral building is designed with steel structure following the rithms of the wood structure existing in the main building. Due to the increasement of the program it was necessary to increase the space, thats why the scenic cashier is reused, diving it in two floors, as it is unuseful nowadays.

Main role: SD, DD, CD RE SCT 2 Project concept: Transformation of an establishment into an H2 apartment, increasing the among of light that comes inside creGA and reorganizing the interior ating new openings in the façade space. CI

The proposal turns an existing establishment into an apartment. The establishment was partially underground resulting in different ground levels.Instead of seeing it as a problem, we decided to create different each level. First, we opened H1 atmospheres in B2 the terrace to the interior creating a new huge entrance of light. Second,we placed the dining room next to it, from which the exterior was visible. And finally, shifted the living room to the LT 1r2a inside. 3 AFFORDABLE HOUSING Housing and city, Spring 2015 Pair project, ETSAB Main role: Student Project concept: Generation of one empty space more, through extending the volumetry of the existing building.

Ground floor

Development of housing in Ciutat Vella. The neighborhood analysis shows that, part from a high urban density, there is a concatenation of squares that create a wide net of empty spaces. From this premise, we plan the generation of one empty space more, through extending the volumetry of the existing building. The main space builds the geometry that will be part of the new community. From the beginning, we had the idea of a neighborhood with pleasant areas, luminous, airy... we accomplish so creating the «cracks» in the volumetry from the second floor, letting the light enter and, at the same time, respecting the own compactness of the surrounding buildings. In terms of public housing, Barcelona is trying to transform the city through the active participation and purposeful action of the people who live in it. The “39 Cooperative dwellings” in Cardedeu is one of these projects on course. LaBaula was in charge of the design. Our contribution as architects was not only designing the new block, but also translating all the steps we took to the new community “La Serreta” to make them subject to debate and discussion. From the relation between the public space and the future block to the activities that were going to be communal in order to reduce the footprint impact (laundry rooms, kitchens, gardens…) to the materials we were going to use. 5 LA GUARDIA PRIVATE RESIDENCE Housing project, in progress l In collaboration with LaBaula arquitectes Main role: DD- CD- CA Project concept: Design a Studio-House that allows go through it from one of the lowest zones of the village to the central square. The Studio-House is located in La Guardia Pilosa, a village from l’Anoia region in Catalonia. All the families living there are from the same one, this was a starting point of the design, because it was going to be an open house. The clients were looking for a Studio-House to not only be their home, but also to design recycled music instruments. For that reason, the house is divided into two through the exterior stairs: protecting the living space from the noise of the studio, and allowing the exterior “public stairs” to be the access to all the levels of the Studio-House.

After analyzing the neighborhood Safaretjos in Santa Coloma de Gramenet we saw that one of the main problems was that the size of the Parc del Molinet did not encourage activities on it. This situation created an abandoned space and feelings of insecurity in the neighborhood, which avoided going there.

The 10 hectares park in front of one of the Barcelona rivers, presented itself as a unique opportunity. We proposed a new public building, which gives the much needed space for the neighbors and the inhabitants of Barcelona.t the same time, it creates a new gardening school that gives studies opportunities for the young people of Santa Coloma. The mixed program aims to create new relationships between the different groups of the society, in order to avoid the actual segregation and to promote a better social network.

The project consisted in develop a new psychiatric hospital for Laaskso area designing a building including the hospital ones that already exist and are protected. Massing 125.000m2 in total and detailing the 25 000 m2 that will be psychiatric hospital and forensic psychiatric department.

SECTION 1 - longitudinal section

We starded the project with a pentagonal unit in order to face the big size of the project, proposing and unified composition but at the same time flexible. In addition, that allowed as to give a more organic answer to the green sur-rounding area.

9 AIRET KINDERGARTEN Restoration and enlargement project, 2018-2019 l In collaboration with LaBaula arquitectes Main role: DD Project concept: Design a new annex building that includes the main entrance giving more space and creating a better relationship between the street and the kindergarten.

When analyzing the existing building, we realized that the rhythm created by the inflexible structure suited the lecture rooms; however, it limited the possibilities in the common spaces. We decided to create a new annex building that included multifunctional rooms of the kindergarten and also the entrance of the building. The existing building remained for the classroom and logistics, while the designed annex allowed the families for a more comfortable pick up of the kids.

The project was born from two needs. First, to provide a family meeting space. And second, to solve the need of 10 neighour families with children that have to take their car to get to the playground. The orographic configuration of the neighborhood and the disposition of spontaneous growth of buildings make it difficult to provide public spaces for neighbors in this area of​​ Torre Baró. As a main objective, we wanted to design a modular geometry that allowed flexibility and diversity of uses, being designed for the different citizens, putting emphasis in the most younger ones, and creating a furniture that allows them to play with it.

We aimed to create a new iconic model of furniture for Barcelona, avoiding the current imperceptible furniture designs.

The new bench is a place to read, to relax, to talk… But at the same time, a low table, a climbing surface, and a cabin for the children of Barcelona. To sum up, a design that promotes places for children in the city.
