Survived by wife of 62 years, Ivy; three daughters, Zeida (Ted) Rohrs, of Bayside, N.Y.; Ivy (Alan) Downey, of Atlanta, Ga.; and Anna M. Shepherd, of Longboat Key; two sisters, Armantin Hernandez of Utah and Lucia Payne, of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. There will be no services. 3/9, information, 100 block of Gulf Drive. The complainant told the deputy he saw some kids with a BB gun and heard some pellets hit his lawn furniture. He yelled at them, and they stopped right way and apologized. The homeowner looked later and saw damage to some windows. The deputy talked with the kids, and they agreed to pay for the damage, so he took no further action. 3/13, information, 100 S, Bay Blvd., Anna Maria City Pier. Friends of a visitor to the Island said she disappeared while they were out, and she suffers from dementia. A search was conducted, and a trolley driver said he delivered her to Bridge Street. Officers found her and returned her to her family. 3/10, assist, 521 Spring Ave. The deputy was forwarded a report from New York State Police in reference to a fraud. The trooper she spoke with advised they took a fraud report where a prospective renter sent a total of $3,600.04 in Money Grams to rent the property. This turned out to be scam. The trooper wanted Manatee County Sheriff’s Office to be aware of the scam in case this is an ongoing Craig’s List problem at this address.

3/11, disorderly conduct, Coquina Park Gulfside, 1800 Gulf Drive South. Police responded to Marine Rescue’s complaint that an intoxicated man was causing a disturbance. Witnesses said the man drove his car into a pole and parked it. He was arrested. 3/12, theft, Via Roma, 2804 Gulf Drive N. 'Fancy' Nancy DeTurk Nancy DeTurk, aka "Fancy Nancy," went to heaven early Saturday morning, March 5, leaving behind her love, Tim Hubbard. She is survived by her mother, Sally Brigstock and her sisters, Judy Marini (Joe), Kathy Crafton (Scott), Sharon Smith (Bob), Rhonda Starner (Jeff) and her very best friend Michelle RuizdelVizo “Bella.” Her nieces and nephews Mishael, Ruth, Nathan, Jennifer, Alan, Amber, Heather, Ryan, Bryce, Brynne, Lyndsay, Derek, Megan, Sarah, Brandon, Cody and Whitney loved their aunt Nancy. 2/25, found property, Manatee Beach Café, 4000 Gulf Drive. The reporting party found a ring in the sand and turned it over to authorities in Anna Maria. It was placed with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department. 2/29, larceny/theft, 600 block of Dundee Lane. The victim said the house is his mother’s, and he lives in it. The house was recently sold, and he gathered his belongings and set them out on the lawn all weekend so he could get them ready to move. There was a garage sale that weekend, and a lot of people thought he was having one too. He found out later that he was missing a telescoping boat ladder. 3/1, theft, 5600 block of Marina Drive. A bicycle was stolen from in front of a store. 3/1, lewdness, disorderly conduct, 500 block of Manatee Avenue. The officer responded to a report of a disturbance in the parking lot of Regions Bank. The officer found a man, but not the female who was reportedly arguing with him. He told the man to wait until he got out of his patrol car, and when he looked back at the man, he saw the suspect urinate on some bushes. He placed the man in his car and handcuffed him. The officer then located the female in front of the bank. He said he smelled alcohol in her presence and saw two bicycles
Barbara Weaver and nephew Chris Wiltshire. She was very loved and will be missed by many including friends, neighbors, American Legion, her cat Riley and her precious dogs Sasha, Ally, Nugget and Captain Morgan. She loved life and laughter. She loved campfires, rock n roll and high heeled shoes. We are so happy that she had the chance to travel out West this past summer RVing and visited Virginia for Christmas. It meant so much to everyone involved. Her celebration of life was March 19.

He sent another officer to the store where he saw a surveillance video showing the man steal the shirts. He was arrested. 3/1, possession of marijuana and cocaine, 2900 block of Gulf Drive. The officer answered a call about a loud truck driving up the street and two subjects who were walking in yards along the street. He found them and called for backup. He noticed on of the subjects had a bulge in his pants pocket and his hand was inside the pocket. The suspect said it was marijuana, When he turned the suspect around to get to the pocket, the suspect ran. The officer caught him and they wrestled. The suspect called for his partner to help, and the office yelled for him to stay away. The other subject finally helped out and the officer lost his grip on the first suspect, who fled in one direction. The other suspect ran in another direction. Just then, the backup arrived and spotted one of the suspects. He was found to have a bag of what was identified as cocaine. He also found pills, a scale and other paraphernalia. They failed to locate the other subject, but they charged the one in custody with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. 3/2, driving with a suspended license, no registration, attaching a license not assigned to the vehicle, no proof of insurance and failure to wear a seatbelt. The officer stopped the man for not wearing his seatbelt and found all the problems that led to the charges. He was given a notice to appear. 3/3, burglary, 600 block of Hampshire Lane. Gertrud Erika Mueller Gertrud Erika Mueller, 93, of Bradenton, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Three suspects stole a bottle off whiskey, according to a surveillance video. 3/4, disorderly conduct, Publix, 3900 East Bay Drive. A man became verbally abusive inside the store and refused to leave. He was arrested. 3/5, disorderly conduct, trespassing, Citgo Gas, 3015 Gulf Drive, Mike Norman Realty, 3101 Gulf Drive. The clerk at the gas station said a white male came in and started asking questions about heating food in a microwave. She told him the store’s microwave did not work, and he started yelling profanities at her, He walked outside and started yelling profanities at two young girls who were walking. The clerk went outside and told him to stop, and he yelled at her and then he threw his cup to the ground. When the officer arrived, he found the suspect and the clerk identified him. The officer found out there was a trespass warning for him at Mike Norman Realty. He was arrested. On the way to the county jail, he became combativ, and the officer had to put a hood over his head due to his spitting in the patrol car. 3/6, DUI, 5200 Gulf Drive. The officer was on patrol, and he noticed the suspect’s vehicle was going into the bicycle lane. He got behind the driver who made an immediate right turn onto 50th Street and sped up. The office activated his lights and the suspect slowly came to a halt. While talking to the suspect, he noticed blurry eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcohol. When asked how much the suspect had to drink, he said a couple of beers. The officer found 15 empty beer cans in the bed of the truck and a shotgun with ammunition inside the cab. The officer had the suspect perform a field sobriety test and arrested him.
