CONSTRUCTION OF BOWLING GREEN’S NEW AQUATICS FACILITY BEGINS MONDAY, OCTOBER 15 BOWLING GREEN, OHIO - October 10, 2012 - The construction phase of the new aquatics facility at the Bowling Green City Park will kick off on Monday, Oct. 15. The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation would like to remind the community that the City Park will remain open during construction. Please be aware that large vehicles will be entering and exiting the park for the duration of the project. The new pool, voted on by the local community, is being built by McGraw Hill Construction and is estimated to cost $4.25 million. The facility will offer amenities that the old pool, built in 1963, didn’t feature. A few of these amenities include: a lazy river, separated pool areas to assist with cleaning, a new bath house and room to conduct swim meets while still holding open swim. Depending on the winter weather, the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation hopes to open the new facility in June 2013. “We are really excited to give the community a more practical facility that will allow us to provide them with more recreation and wellness programs than ever before,” said Josh Chatfield, aquatics/fitness manager at the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation. The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department provides programs and facilities that enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Bowling Green. For more information, go to ###
