DESIGN PROJECTS COVERING PUBLIC AND SEMI-PUBLIC GREEN AREAS IN A RELATIVELY SMALLER SCALE. PROJECTS WERE COMPLETED DURING BACHELOR AND MASTER UNIVERSITY STUDIES BOTH INCLUDING STUDY-RELATED WORKS AS WELL AS PUBLIC COMPETITION PROJECTS.

B I OTOP E DE S I G N AT LINNÉ ARBORETUM VÄXJÖ, SWEDEN In terms of the master’s course Dynamic Vegetation design we designed the southern part of the Linné Arboretum in Växjö. The main focus was on the design of biotopes wrapped up in a theme of education and recreation. Due to the central location of the arboretum we created an educational path among the forest to show different biotopes of forest, wetland and open landscape areas in Sweden and other northern locations. As for the recreational purposes we combined the path with places to stop, rest, barbecue or picnic.

PL A N T I NG DE S I G N F O R C I TA DE L L S K A J E N MALMĂ–, SWEDEN In this small-scale design project perennial planting designs were made for a soon-to-be-built project at Citadellskajen in MalmĂś. The framework has been designed by the municipality for the waterside pedestrian area, the planting design had to apply for an area within that. The perennials had to be chosen according to soil type and environmental conditions. Matrix plantings as well as perennial block plantings were used here to give various effects on the different elevated levels of the design. I chose plants according to colour combination and texture.

M A L M Ö B OTA N I CA L G A R DE N MALMÖ, SWEDEN Within the currently ongoing project of Malmö Botanical Garden, the goal was to design an area called ’Gardens of the World’. These gardens are aimed to show vegetation systems from different system. In this design the inspiration is the North-Eastern American deciduous forest, with special focus on the seasonal changes and dynamism. Thus a multilayered woodland is created with multistemmed species for character, as well as a woodland glade showing moist meadow species. As a Botanical Garden, education was also an important feature when creating the design.

SMALL-SCALE TEMPORARY DESIGNS IN TERMS OF LAND ART OR SCULPTURE-LIKE FEATURES IN PUBLIC SPACES. MOST DESIGNS WERE DONE WITHIN INDIVIDUAL PROJECTS OUTSIDE STUDIES.

M E M O R I A L O F T H E L O ST F O R E ST LOMMA, SWEDEN This temporary installation is reflecting on the forest areas lost during real-estate developments at the coast of Lomma town. When asking older residents, they reminisced about the former forest being an important meeting point. This design is supposed to „bring back some of the forest by using reflective mirror parts, set opposite to the remaining wooded areas, thus multiplying the sight of it. The installation itself is meant to be interesting for observants withouth the historical contexts as well, as it allows for playing with reflections.

BA L C O N Y S H OW G A R DE N BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

For the annual Hungarian Garden Design Competition we have designed and built this balcony showgarden. Together with a group of students, the project was carried out under the project ’Balkon Aranya’, which is a city-greening competition founded by us, where people from Budapest can enter with their re-designed, greened balconies. This showgarden acted as an example of how to use cheap materials and plants to create a cozy balcony. The showgarden was awarded with silver prize.
