Project Description Designed to encourage sit-and-stand culture to enhance health and posture. Specifically designed for 5ft design students to work on 36� tables.


Prototyping Used chip board, small architecture wooden sticks, and glue to make small scale models of some intial sketches.

Human Scale Model Since this design is for 36� tables, it was important to make a full scale model before diving into the final model. This made me realize small changes that I should make.

Color and Material Finish

Form & Function Manufactured with baltic birch plywood. Cut with CNC Router to precision. Material used wood glue, oil based wood stain in the color cherry, grooved dowel rods, and water based polyurethane finish.

Features include: EASY TO TRANSPOSRT Fully detachable MULTIPLE WAYS TO USE The seat can itself be used as a seperate stool/seat. EXTRA STORAGE Storage space under the seat for laptop, small cups and note books.

Project Description The project is a juicer and is targeted towards taking an existing juicer and redisgining to improve it. The product has to be stylish and user friendly.

Problem Identification AESTHETICALLY UNPLEASING The design is very old fashioned and heavy. It does not have a modern take on a traditional juicer. NOT EASY-TO-USE It is not so straightforward to use. Some of the functions are not easy to use. A few features are also unnecessary. STRUCTURAL WEAKNESS Some parts were weak and could break easily. It also takes a lot of space on the counter.

Process Used reverse engineering in the process. Unscrewed all the parts and took the measurement of all the parts of the existing juicer. Keeping that in mind, designed a new juicer with better functions.

Function The function of this juicer is to get you the perfect juice you want. It has a pulp meter along with a retractable chord. The juicer is mechanical and hence the grinders will move on it’s own.

Form The body is slimmer with a less bulky handle, making the juicer more compact. The handle is a sperate part make it easier to wash.

Project Brief Biomimicry is a process in which you find inspiration from nature for your product, either in the form or function. It is using the elemnts of nature for problem solving through your design.

Solving Problem Watering plants can be messy and time consuming. The water pressure on the soil can make depression and splash some of the soil out. The pool of water on the soild also lets the water evaporate, hence wasting a lot of water and not much reaching the soil.
