Kristina Dančetović The Revolution of Rock and Roll This research paper explores the implausible beginnings and development of Rock And Roll. The aim is to illuminate the ignorant humanity, and to, in a most appealing way, explain the grandeur of, one of the most popular genres in music history. One of characteristics of this research paper is diversity of sub-genres which is thoroughly explained and examined. The transformation of Rock and Roll will be analysed chronologically, starting from multi-cultural components which influenced the creation of this genre itself. The technical definition of rock and roll music is not of a great importance. or true fans, rock and roll music can not be defined. It is in the musicians and it comes out before the music even begins. Natural speculation suggests that rock n’ roll would never had been so controversial had it not been for the sexual revolutions and conflicts going on throughout the mid 1900’s. This paper gives striking descriptions of the conflicts of the rock n’ roll movement. It argues rock n’ roll, and its opposition, which was reflective of the Civil Rights movement. The research, not only draws examples from the popular artists of the time, but also incorporates the reactions from those who listened to and experienced the rock n’ roll movement. Further analyses will be on to inform the reader of the unique events and people of rock n’ roll, while exploring how the rock n’ roll culture roughly integrated with, replaced and conflicted with preceding cultural values. Keywords: rock and roll, conflict, sexual revolution, Civil Rights movement, popular artists, sub-genres.

Dragana Zornić Mythopoeic Pantheism and the Quest for the Self in Neil Gaiman’s Graphic Novel The Sandman If we accept the idea of the 20th century literature as the portrayal of the modern man’s detachment from religion which subsequently propelled him into a feeling of alienation and isolation, we may come to realize that postmodernist literature, conveyed in the form of the graphic novel, offers transfigured “religion” to secular society. This metamorphosis in terms of “religion” – reflecting Morpheus’s epic journey, in the graphic novel the Sandman, from the captivity, over liberation, to the eventual rebirth and self-realization – is needed not for the sole purpose of believing in the supreme deity as such, but for the notion of order and purposefulness which both stem from man’s natural striving to fathom the meaning of the world he is living in. Based on the critical analysis and the evaluation of the Sandman, this paper aims at exploring the ways in which Neil Gaiman brings this order out of chaos recounting mythological stories, which, projected from the past, interweave with the stories of the present. Furthermore, it will explain how he deems this alloy of “old” and “new” essential to the modern man in his quest for the identity, for it creates the pantheistic universe in which every entity is the part of the divine and in which everyone serves his/her purpose. Keywords: graphic novel, the Sandman, Neil Gaiman, identity, pantheism, mythology

Dejan Stojanović The Decline of Reading This erudite paper’s chief objective, when decked with valor my laconic wit exultantly suspired amongst the recondite opaqueness of my tremulant spirit, and me supplicated to prove my puissance in battle brave, which would indubitably foment all the Orient to sneer, is to exhume the piteously interred interest in literary reading, reminding the populace of the salient significance literature has had since the dawn of time. Engulfed by the brooding darkness of human torpor and lethargy, this paper shall strive to, if the Omnipotent his supernal consent vouchsafes, perforate into the inimical consciousness of his flock and steadfastly infix its incandescent hope of revitalizing what once loitered there and illuminated, with a far deeper zeal, the eclipse of their mental surroundings. Purposefully employed quantitative method ought to yield, when sufficient intelligence is ripe for the picking, the answer as to why the literacy percentage is on the ceaseless decline and hopefully divulge the iniquitous miscreants and wastrels wreaking havoc on people’s ardor for reading. With this laborious undertaking, I hope to manage to imprint an indelible insignia apropos the importance of literature and reading, though, to me, its durability seems inauspicious. Keywords: literacy, decline, reading, literature, intelligence.

Jovana Jovanović Character Flaws in Shakespeare’s Plays The main purpose of the paper is to present, in the most illustrative way possible, character flaws throughout the plays of the most famous playwright. The paper covers some of the greatest works of William Shakespeare and his perception of the human mind. Moreover, some of the modern authors, such as Tom Stoppard and Harold Pinter prove that nothing has truly changed since the Shakespearean era. People have lived and still live in the world, in which the poisonous doctrines have a great influence on human beings. Previous research has documented Shakespeare’s characters and their flaws, but the most important research for this paper is a book by Harold Bloom, which depicts the greatness of Shakespeare’s characters. T he author suggests finding the roots of many modern issues in Shakespeare’s plays. Summing up the result, it can be concluded that human beings are still influenced by the poisonous doctrines, however, the paper shows that there is still hope for mankind; there is a way for people to resist the system and to develop moral values free of injustice and corruption. Keywords: character flaws, William Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard, Harold Pinter, the poisonous doctrines, Harold Bloom

Aleksandra Negojević The Importance of Proper Grammar on the Internet What this insightful paper concentrates on is just how important it is for proper grammar to be omnipresent on the Internet, which is vicariously exemplified using a number of online posts written by various individuals who tend to make serious mistakes, thus spreading their illiteracy all over the web. The areas the research covers are internet domains that are most often visited by youngsters, especially students, bearing in mind the fact that it is they who shall inherit the Earth, a celestial body where the gravity of grammar is becoming extinct (much like the pun used just now). The design of this project took a quantitative approach, meaning that there is a questionnaire developed to gather information from the very erring students who are in desperate need of a grammatical safe haven, followed by a statistical analysis of their responses. Notwithstanding the fact that a disquieting number of online posts written in bad English might be found to cunningly await the meek, this revolutionary research is meant to snowball the overall awareness of such wicked posts and make one discern that they cannot leave such grammar to future generations, hopefully resulting in the improvement of the same. Keywords: grammar, internet, students, mistakes, bad English
