Itinerary for 8 day tour in Central Italy - 16 people max.
Option for 4 additional days – October 24 - 26, 2014 (Assisi - Cortona - Self Exploration Workshop) You and an intimate number of guests will spend 8 days immersed in the art, food, beauty and history of Italy, through this tour designed just for you and your friends “Amici”. ! You and your friends will visit the “must sees” in Italy and also interact with, and learn from Angelo (your guide), Elizabeth (your eating meditation leader), Britta (NY Chef), and the folks, foodies and craftspeople of Italy. Every day, you will have your own time to shop, explore, and discover what makes Italy such a beloved destination. Oct. 15: Arrive in Italy' Arrive at Fiumicino Airport in Rome & travel by private bus to Villa Pieve! Quick lunch on the way or at Villa Pieve! Relax and unpack! Tour of the Estate and Castle, “Castello di Pieve del Vescovo”! Dinner at Villa Pieve!
Oct. 16: Introduction to Umbria & ' Visit Corciano and Lake Trasimeno' Italian style breakfast! General Introduction to the Umbria Region and Italian Culture by Rossella Vasta! Cooking Class and Lunch at Villa Pieve ! Visit of the medieval village of Corciano (one of the most beautiful towns in Italy) and its museums:! • The “Antiquarium” (Etruscan Museum) ! • The Farmhouse Museum (Anthropological museum)! Lake Trasimeno: Visit at Oil Mill “Mancianti” - Dinner on “Isola Maggiore” (the Big Island) at “L’oso Ristorante”!

Oct. 17: Visit Deruta & Dough Kneading Therapy Class at Villa Pieve' Italian style breakfast! Visit of Deruta: The Grazia ceramic Factory (oldest in Europe) and the factory museum! Lunch in Old Deruta! Return to Villa Pieve for “Impasto Terapia” (Dough Kneading Therapy) with Renowned Master Baker Andrea Pioppi! Dinner at Villa Pieve
Oct. 18: Food & Wine Day' Italian style breakfast! Cooking Class: Fresh Pasta & Mediterranean Diet! Eating Meditation Lunch at Villa Pieve! Tour of the Carini Winery Estate and Pig Farm! Dinner: Exquisite Tasting of Carini’s Wine and Meats !
Oct. 19: Visit Orvieto Italian style breakfast! Visit old Duomo! Possible visit to Underground Orvieto! Visit “Pozzo di San Patrizio” ! Lunch in Orvieto “Grotte del Funaro”! Relax and Shopping (Don’t forget “Gelato”)! Lemoncello Class with “Don Michael”! Dinner at Villa Pieve.
Oct. 20: Montepulciano Italian style breakfast! Piazza Grande – Pleasant piazza surrounded by great architecture! The clock tower of the Palazzo Comunale (optional)! Wine tasting – in the “Cantina” of the Contucci Palace, on Piazza Grande! Visit to “Rameria Mazzetti” One of the Oldest Copper Cookware Crafters in Central Italy.! Lunch on your own!

Oct. 23: Goodbye Villa Pieve or extend your stay through Oct. 26 Price includes: ! • Bed & breakfast in double occupancy! • 1 Dinner at Carini Winery, 2 lunches and 7 dinners at Villa Pieve, 1 private dinner tour on the lake; all meals to include wine.! • Transportation for day trips as described in the program! • A tour of one of the oldest ceramic factory and museum “the Grazia factory”! • 2 cooking lessons with Donna “Bibi” and Donna “Rosa”! • 1 Lemoncello Class ! • 1 Dough Kneading Therapy Class! • 2 Wine tastings! • Entrance at the archeological and farming museums in Corciano & Florence’s David/Accademia Museum! • Introduction to the Umbria Region and Italian Culture with artist Rossella Vasta! • Final “Gala” with music and dancing!
If you would like to extend your stay by arriving into Rome early or extending your day through Oct. 26 at Villa Pieve – we can help you make these arrangements as well. Single room accommodation add $250 for one week.! NOTE: The itinerary may be subject to change depending on size of group and time of year. - Airfare and travel insurance not included -
Deposit & Cancellation Policy' Upon registration of the above proposal a $500 deposit will have to be paid. Should the participant decide to withdraw from this tour, he/she must inform UmbriaGroup USA tour coordinator in writing immediately.! If the participant chooses to withdraw from this tour after registration but 90 days or less prior to commencement of the program, he/she will be responsible for paying any unrecoverable tour costs that UmbriaGroup USA has incurred on his/her behalf, plus €100.00 cancellation fee (in addition to forfeiting the deposit). ! Such costs may include, but are not limited to pre-paid meals, pre-paid transportation deposits, rental deposits, bus rental fees, payments for guides and other group expenses.! For example, if the tour budget is based on a minimum of 9 participants, and the 9th participant withdraws, then a portion of the cost for some group services also becomes unrecoverable cost and you will be responsible for these costs to ensure that the entire trip does not fail or that additional costs are not passed on to the remaining participants. Thus, even if you have not yet paid the full tour balance or do not attend the tour, you may be responsible for paying these unrecoverable program costs.! For any cancellation, 120 to 90 days prior to commencement of the program a 20% of the amount paid up to date will be forfeited.! Should the participant withdraw from this tour after commencement, for any reason, including being required to withdraw for disorderly conduct reasons, no refunds will be given.! Should the participant need to return to the U.S. after commencement of the tour due to illness, UmbriaGroup USA tour coordinator will make every eﬀort to refund recoverable costs to the participant, but there is no express guarantee that this will happen.! Should the participant choose not to participate in any program activities (such as a field trip, excursion, cultural event, included meals, etc.) he/she will not be refunded any portion of such cost.
