about Angela A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Angela spent her formative years visiting art museums and festivals with her mother. Angela’s mother, also an artist, exposed her to many cultures and creative environments. “My earliest and most cherished memories are of hanging out with my mom at the St. Louis Art Museum and visiting local art fairs in the summer. I credit all of my creative foundation to my mom, she inspired and nurtured me in the arts and ultimately into a career in design.” After graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Angela began her design career developing graphics for corporations. Her years of professional experience includes identity/brand development, graphic and environmental design.

In addition to her professional design career, Angela volunteers her time and talent in underserved neighborhoods and organizations. She has taught art classes in after school programs for the Chicago Public Housing Authority and volunteers her design talents to non-profits. Angela was one of the founding team members of Project Osmosis—a design mentoring not-for-profit organization. “Project Omosis is doing incredible work mentoring and exposing kids to careers in art and design that they may have never considered.” In addition to her professional design career, Angela exhibits her fine art at several Chicago-area art galleries and festivals. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Noyes Cultural Arts Center in Evanston, Illinois.

my work “My art explores the rich palette of colors, symbols patterns and history of ancient cultures. Inspired by my love of the African aesthetic in a contemporary expression and working primarily in watercolor, I create assemblages that tell stories”
