Shor t F iction

Short Fiction is about culutral issues faced in society today. It is universal across cultures diolog used to enlighten and inform as well as touch the lives of others.

Understanding Democracy Democracy can be defined as to have the personal freedom to do as you please as long as you follow the guidelines and principles of government and law. Democracy means to have inviable rights and privileges under the constitution to free speech, religion, quartering of troops, the right to a fair trail and many more. Democracy states that all Americans have the right to practice personal freedoms as long as it does not conflict with the morals of society today. Democracy states that if you conflict with the law you will be punished for not following the rules and guidelines made by government. Americans exercise the right to vote or they exercise the right to a good education. The law recently issued that

prevents minorities from attending school based on affirmative action was a decry to the Brown vs. the Board of Education rule which allowed minority, poor students to having a good, fair education. A democracy stands with liberty and justice for all. Making Poverty History Poverty will always pertain to immortality. The poor remain poor, the rich will sustain wealth. God bless the weak and humble for they will inherit the earth. Man through his religion have mercy less fortunate than him because he cares for the victim. Slaves came from decimal state, poverty, limited education and thrived from third generation poverty

to encounter decease and fortitude to sustain reason and purpose into a fulfilling life. No one neglects there are people of poverty. There is so much to do with giving for support, sanitation with good intentions. Third world countries are inhabitant of misdemeanor which explains why we have people living in poverty. The fact America have people living homeless in the street and 1/3 people who do not have health insurance is differed. Poverty sustains upon one generation to the next because it is a standard and hard to fray from.

To believe in the American dream that anyone can prosper in self relent freedom is stagnate when it comes to the realms of structure.

Jesus in Politics Could you imagine Jesus as president? I can recollect how much attention. Jesus as a political figure? Jesus for president would win unanimously. He spoke with so much wisdom and convocation in his day about issues that mattered to man or how it would change history. Jesus was a maturer who spoke about love, life and wisdom. Jesus was an advocate for world peace. He spoke with so much serenity. Jesus fought for human rights as an advocate for sinner to

be relieved by saying they believe in something atrocious. I can imagine Jesus as a strong political figure. Where his image appeared in America, South America and Europe as and advocate for change and an advocate for hope. If there was a problem, Jesus could solve it with moral faith. Jesus made a promise that everyone would have a chance to be uplifted by believing in his wisdom. Jesus had so much charisma. Jesus had so much charm. He would make a good lawyer. He delivered man from evil. Jesus would make a good leader. Many have followed his word for centuries and still have been moved by his ethics today. Jesus challenged man with

common belief that there is a better way. He promised if you listen you will be saved. Jesus performed many miracles of healing and blessings. It was about spirituality in his moral teaching eulogies that made man realize he was a deliverer of hope and angelical freedom. Jesus died on the cross with a promise he would return and those who believed would be saved.

Chosing a College Major Most college student do not have an idea of which major to choose from. Some college students have an idea of which field of study they are interested in; but later continue college with a different major. When

you choose a major, one should find a subject that interest them and to find a major in the area they make their best grades in. If you find a major that interest you, you will find that you will stay dedicated to your field of study. Most students find after completing a four year degree at a university that they will go to a college to find a major in a career choice. A university provides you with the basic core knowledge in an area and a college degree focuses on one general field to study. People go to college to find a career choice. I finished an Associate of General Studies in Business and Fine Arts and later went to the university to major in Workforce Education. College is an academic career choice. There are high expectations in college. Employers want to hire the best students. There is a such thing as A student a B student and below. Who would you

want to operate on you an A or B student or a C or failing student. Grades are very important in your career choice in college. Most people would want an A student from the best schools to operate on them. Good luck in choosing your career goal. Dreams One day a young Andre had made a promise to a young Anna. "Surrender to me, my love and let me be your guide to salvation." The young Anna was overwhelmed when she first hear this and gave her soul to him. The next day the Anna felt empty inside and lonely. She had lost her every possession to be with Andre

who promised her eternal happiness. She began to think. She began to get more and more disturbed. She thought, "How does one grade ones happiness, when she has nothing to reflect upon." The next day the Andre appeared to have his head on his shoulders because he had everything he wanted: love, happiness, self-fulfillment. The Andre questioned and pitied the young Anna and did not seem to care. The Andre though he gave her what she wanted and she should fill her life complete. A tear fell from the corner of the young Anna's eye. The tear was from God. It was then Anna realized that after she thought she lost everything, she had God's love and she needed God to give her inner

strength to carry on. She began to meditate to God and God answered. Anna's conscious reminded her of trauma in her life. The trauma was sterile in her vision. She could not begin to execute the thought process without prayer. The conscious screams with passion of hope and love. The voice inside her cries for peace of mind. And time and time again hope nurtured the love she kept inside her soul.

Writing a Short Story When writing a short story one must develop a concept. The concept must have an origin, a setting and a subteens. The story can be make believe from outside resources - a origin. You may perceive

research on the topic - a setting. The story must be accurate having a sub tense. If the story is a love story, one must add dialog to the story. It the story is about a war, it must contain details and data pertaining to a war. If the story is fiction, one must include accurate data about the subject. If the story is non-fiction, one must have a sense of accurate data pertaining to real and surreal subject matter. If it is a love story, a story can come from your imagination of your thought love is based upon. Remember to include the 5 W's: who, what, when, where and how. Writing is a lengthy process where a writer may take longer time to getting the story how he likes it. Writing is fun. The more you practice, the more advice you get the better you will become as a successful writer.

Litarary Comparisons Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, in comparison, John Wayne captured an amusing relic time passage. What makes their stories so remarkable is that dispute unduly difference in character they succumb a bondage through friendship. Huckleberry Finn was a young boy full of bubbly kindness and young imagination. Tom Sawyer was an older man different in culture and class who was left to be amusing. The two characters are admissible and funny together in gasping adventure within a day. I find it amusing how their personalities did not conflict and instead were compressible. Tom treated Finn like his own.

He treated him like family. Whatever happened they lived it together and Tom watched over Finn to make sure he did what was right. Tom protected Finn from danger. He gave him encouragement. He brought laughter to the story. No matter how amusing the adventure was it was a time capsule enticing each moment with blissful entertainment. Like Uncle Tom's cabin, the story was told in the mind of Finn. Rather; Finn was seen as docelant and cunning. What would be an uncle tom? It is said to be a person who is a betrayer or is betrayed by his own culture. In the book, Huckleberry was a black man who made a friendship with a young white male. This relationship was unheard of during this time in history.

What is surprising in the story is their bondage. I recall the movie Roots in how perturbed of how culture clashes. In that despite cultural differences in character, Twain wanted to show how friendly and kind things were and that how everyone got along. In many times each defended one another. It was if the young male was very mature for his age. It was incomparable to think dispute differences in culture they cared for one another. It is a wonder why this book was band for finding fault in diversity.

Obsticles I feel strongly about life's true meaning to be about love.

Love is something stronger than just having a friend. It involves having a friend who is concerned and to have someone who cares a lot about you. When you have a friend to share your secrets, it adds a nominal meaning to your life. It is important in life to have someone there for you no matter what emotion, or whether you are happy or whether you are sad. Having this person in your life is credible. Sometimes you may want someone to cuddle up to you to cheer you up. Sometimes you need a friend to listen to you when you are stressed and hold you dear to his heart and give supportive advice. Love is a friendship bond between a man and a woman. It is the freedom to escapes the real world and enjoy it with someone who cares as much about you to care enough about him. It is a congenial effort

to getting along with the opposite sex. If this means that every time he makes a unkind, frivolous remark and you question his intellectual ability and it does not matter because you love him regardless, this is what relationships bonding is about. Love is a relationship where when there is a baby involved, you begin to bond even more to take care of your child. You want to be a positive role model for your own children. Making up is important role in the relationship where you just hug after you engage in an argument. I love you, Andrew. This is the true meaning of love that makes a purpose in life.

Reflections Self reflection is a positive way to find greater freedom through dialog. If you are a person who makes your own decisions and you need to reflect ideas, you should consider writing ideas in a journal. Dialog guides self thought that can guide you to make better decisions. You can write poetry, draw, have a journal of thought and insight, a song, log task daily or write an essay or short story to dialog thought. It is from a preconceived thought that need attention. You have better insight if you thought things through. Writing is a form of self expression. As you engage on writing, you will find it helpful. After you complete a thought, you shall review what you wrote. It gives you insight and appreciation for your accomplishments. It can help through difficult times

when you do not want to talk to someone and do not need the attention, write about your hopes, dreams and love. Writing is the greatest freedom of expression. Recognize your own self worth through creative writing.

The Value of an Education A question to ask most high school students is what do you want to do beyond high school. Education is an affidavit to getting a good job. A question most students may ask is how am I going to pay for college or do I have the GPA to go to college or have I passed the high school equivalence exam or ACT/SAT exam to make the cut to get into college? What does it take to get into college?

While all these things are necessary to get into an accredited college there are alternatives. I graduated from high school with a 2.12 GPA and opted to go to a community college. I did not have any SAT scores, 3.0 GPA requirement to go to the University of Nevada,

Las

Vegas

or

the

academic

class

requirements. If I had transfered into a university my major would have been dance with a dance background. There I went on to a community college and became a graduate with a 2.15 GPA. Beyond all obstacles of being learning disabled with a mental handicap, I graduated from school. I had this idea in high school that I wanted to be successful in that I wanted to study my way out of poverty and become somebody. I did not want to be a stripper or prostitute. With that dream I wanted to be

the first black American female on the supreme court. I had high expectations to fill. Assessing a college deploma is important to work. You will not earn a good living without the background education. Education prepares you for the field of work. Education makes a difference to building to success. The only obsticle preventing you from your future is your self confidence in your ability to succeed. I am now a student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas majoring in Workforce Education with 5 classes left to graduate. I hope that I am an inspiration to those thinking of dropping out of school, wasting their life away when they too can become productive.

Being mentally ill, my parents could not afford health insurance and I was on disability for 10 years. With the help from the government, I paid for college taking one class per semester and working volunteer work. Because of my disability and because I was put into a mental home after high school, work was hard to come by. This did not deter my dream of graduating some day. I worked for Arericorp, the campus bookstore and now the gaming lab. I would consider myself successful. If I could stay in school with average grades and go on to 100 college classes without failing, this should say to young students with higher grade point average that they are normal that they can do anything they will to do as long as they put forth the effort and not give up.

I will mentor students with Top Teens of America. I have to say to them that a good education is possible. Some people may try to break you, say you are nothing, spit at your feet, but you have to believe in yourself and your dreams to not let negative people bring you down to their level. Just because you are different does not mean you can not conquer hatred. The greatest gift God could give is the testimony and talent to share with others. You do not have to deal drugs, become prostitutes, steal from stores. If you want to be somebody, you have to stand up and be heard. Whenever in doubt, pray to God for guidance. I have graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education.

Standardized Tests There is a lot of pretense on standardized test scores in making the cut to graduate from high school. Do standardized test discriminate to the poor, disabled and minorities students? Why are students measuring up to compete against standards. I feel that students need higher goals to achieve higher achievement. Standardized test measure whether students are meeting the states educational goals in order to be successful. Each state has their own goals in which teachers are to meet this requirement to compete with other students to go onto college. Without goals, we would have no principles. Standardized test are not fair to the disadvantaged because they can not always compete with astigmatisms that will not allow them to prosper. Thus; the students with high IQ will

always stand out. It is difficult for an African American to meet graduation when their are obstacles hindering his level of education. If there are standards that are need to be met it should be for all the students at their level to compete with peers at their level. This is the only way students can meet over obstacles.

Marin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. day is honored in his name. Martin Luther King was an advocate demonstrating selfless acts in defense of civil rights. In comparison to Ghandi and Jesus, Martin Luther King fought a peaceful fight against discrimination. He represented human rights for minorities. It was not just a plight that would change civil rights for all minorities. The

problem with the world today is that there is so much racism amongst all citizens it is hard to define the plight to freedom. When civil rights was activated it created opportunity for women and other minorities. Civil rights activist were minorities as well as blacks who believed in opportunity and change. The underground railway helped not only free slaves but it was an underground railway for transporting aliens into this country secretly. It was a movement that was voluntary dedicated to the discipline and education to the struggle of Americans. Martin Luther King Jr. was a good leader where his philosophy is active today. He was an advocate for change. He was active in changing the status quo of civil liberties. Martin Luther King changed and affected the lives of many Americans. He defended the right to diplomacy. He empowered the right to vote. He influenced the right

to have a good education. To the blind, he made people aware that discrimination is not right. He led the path to freedoms never allowed in history. He created opportunity never before admissible. He delivered

apathy

to

Americans

towards

discrimination. He redefined invaluable right that blacks can contribute to society as effective participants in society. He gave blacks freedoms never before admissible in history.

Loneliness She hurried along to greet her friend trailing behind the group. She was expecting to be entertained for the next days hours. She knew to make the best of her time because she could only stay out until the lights

came

on.

It

was

her

curfew.

There was plenty of excitement for she was best friends with the group. Once contained they decided the first project was to go to the neighborhood school and to play in the court yard. There they could play hop scotch, which she was good at, playing in the sand and dangling from the monkey bars. There were so many tricks to do on the monkey bars that you had to try more than once to be good at it.

Next the girls thought they would walk through the dessert to the corner neighborhood store because all that play made them hungry. It was feared to walk through the dessert because there were stalkers and when they thought they were being followed they ran as fast as they could to keep up with the group. The

food they decided to eat was a big dill pickle with a hard candy to suck on in the middle. All the food made

them

tire

easy.

When they got back to the school, the group saw boys playing basketball. They felt they wanted a challenge the boys in a game of boys against girls. The girls were good; but not enough challenge against the boys. Before they knew it they were playing chase in the school yard from the boys. This began to tire them

easily.

The girls decided to play amongst themselves in a quiet game of initiation. So the girls took a needle and pressed their tiny figures together to become blood

sisters.

They

were

that

close.

At the end of the day, the girls wanted to play intermingle

kick

ball.

It was a day full of fun and excitement and it was

getting dark. It was time to go home. She did not want to leave; yet knowing she could play more in the days ahead. She rushed home to be with her family for dinner. At bed time she got on her knees and thanked God for the many blessings of having good friends.

Hip Hop Dance The overview of Hip hop dances was started in a Las Vegas studio in 1986 - 1987 with a group of teenage dancers fooling around with dance moves. It was no different in how break dancing got started on the street in New York city. The whole hip hop movement started crump dancing a form of dancing through anger. When hip hop music touched the lives

of so many young people so did dance. A lot of old school dance started by either the performers, dance drill teams or from dancers in dance clubs and branched out in clubs around the world. I recall dance where certain Las Vegas dance squads where everything was segregated and you would have to be light skinned or mixed to be able to dance on the squad. There we had white dancers who did hand movement. I have not seen hand movement in a long time amongst cheerleaders. Then there was the Asian dance squad, the Hispanic dance squad who used foot movement. The black dance squad used seductive body movements still shown today. You would have to cross the line of dancers to imitate their dance form often resulting in fights. Later during the hip hop movement of newer old school dance branched out when dance combined hand, foot and body movement

to what is known today as hip hop dance. There was old school and there is new school. Some dance had a name to it like the wave, the bump, the shake, the PAC man, the locust, the rock, the bird and many other names. The dance got its name a long time a go. Old school dance started it and new school dance perfected it and gave it a different name.

College Tuition Prior to the eighties, the average college student used a form of financial aid to pay for college. Today many of the students find other means to pay for college. If you carry a high grade point average in school, many schools provide scholarships to pay for tuition in specific subjects. If you work at a college,

you can receive a grant in aid to pay for tuition. Some students take student loans and pay back the loan after they graduate. Americorp awards its student workers with a stipend to go toward tuition in college. Most college students work while in college and take a lesser class load or credits per semester. If you do decide to work, it grants work experience so when you do finish college you are ready for a promotion or a raise. Students can work as models, art class models or to sale paintings, poetry or work as volunteer work to pay your college tuition.

Salvation We live in a world where we try to justify reason with theory. It is inviolable to find fault in delousing

reason. And best of all we try to let by gones be by gones and go on with life. In life's tribulations we will come across problems. And it is with these problems we will try to come to justice with our actions. We will try to talk things through because we are caring humans. We want to understand our own actions. This is how we mature. It comes a time in life of letting go of pinned up emotions and finding the serenity to move forward. We must lie our burdens down and forgive one another. God said in order to see beyond fault, one must pull the beam out of his own eye. God did not make man perfect. Daily we ask God to forgive our trespassers and we would ask to be forgiven. Life is not promised

and so we ask for God to help us change to become better people. One would need to ask God to help you to ask for forgiveness and for you to ask the strength to forgive others so you grow closer to God. Sometimes we say and do things we do not mean or to what we do not understand. One must accept God in his life to overcome these obstacles or at least find reason to define and understand.

Athletics A young women must find the time to equate herself with other resources. I have been athletic my entire life. I did swim meets at the YMCA. I was in the junior Olympics in figure skating, gymnastics and volley ball. I won many awards. I decided to do dance

teams as squadron leader and choreographer. I played basketball as captain of the team in high school and college. My background gave me the leadership skills to continue a positive life. I also played college tennis and trained with the Serena sisters. I could have gone professional. I reflect back to many challenges and obstacles that could have prevented my dreams from coming true. I suffer from a learning disability that did not keep me from trying in college to getting a degree. There is a lot of team spirit that goes in competing in team sports. As a team leader you must demonstrate craft and have the ability for others to follow. I recall the coach telling me that conflict is apart of being a team leader. I had obstacles in coaching basketball with federation of college coaches. I recall in dance and basketball the team questioning my leadership skills. In dance I taught the

team that I will lead and they will follow. Sometimes people still steps before competition so I would use ideas and once they saw me lead they knew how to follow the routine without any other team knowing our steps. In basketball, I was pushed down and fowled many ways because they wanted me on the bench. Coach taught me to fight back through discipline in that I do not knock others over but I demonstrate craft in playing the game. As captain, I learned that if all plans fail you must improvise and make up as you go along. Never give up. I almost drowned in YMCA last meet but I won in the long run. Sports has a lot of discipline in it. I spent many hours after practice developing technique and skill to do each sport. Never give up. The first cheer leading championship won with my steps in which because of my race unfortunately I was unable to attend. The

second championship our team won and I was there as captain proudly leading the team. I could have lost my life in gymnastics on the balancing beam. It did not stop me from trying. Do not give up. Life has many challenges in its core, one must demonstrate the ability to believe in herself to pursue her dreams. The first women's professional basketball player was shot in the left side of her neck. She did not give up. We must thank the people who paved the way. Do not give up on your dreams.

Afirmative Action Affirmative action derived solely on the basis of creating equality employment for minorities who are victims of discrimination. Our past history as a nation

did not have equal statutes granted to all its citizens. It is said to give America its huddled masses. Some people feel that their race is superior to other races in that minorities are subordinate to man. When the slave were brought to America he was considered 1/4 human thus creating the sale of a man for economics pretenses. It is written in history that it is an outcry to state that a man can be owned by another man. Minorities throughout history were not always treated fairly. In the fifties and sixties the Jim Crow law was put into effect to a level of discrimination. Blacks were not allowed to eat in diners, were not allowed to use public bathrooms, were not allowed to sit in front of movies or theaters, were not allowed to have an equal education, were not allowed to sit in the front of the bus. Blacks were considered second class citizens. Martin Luther King Jr. fought for equality

amongst its people. Thus; we have affirmative action. Affirmative actions grants opportunity to find employment. Some people disagree that affirmative action is fair for hiring practices to grant employment solely on the basis of race over someone who has more experience and knowledge to fulfill the job. Some people feel it is unfair to recruit minority students to college applications to support their athletic teams, while other students are denied their application who has better academics to enter an ivey league college. Affirmative action allows minorities to articulate their voice in a political manner whereas the voice would normally not have been heard or as effective if they were not their. Some employers would use affirmative action to hire a minority to not discriminate if they had no minority employees at their firm. The question in the hiring practices if the

employers or schools were not recruiting based on race bust also on character and past influence in what the person can offer or add to the business after they are employed. We live in a world where racism exists. When we learn to overcome practices that eliminate discrimination, racism and predjudices then there will no longer be a need for afirmative action.

Police Brutality Police brutality targets minorities when you consider there are more blacks in prisoned than any other entity. When I think of the reckless activity of police brutality, I am reminded of events like the Rodney King beating. There is considerable more brutality on minorities in America. It is written in text books that

black people need more discipline than any other race. There is a high number of high school drop outs in America. There is a high number of blacks on welfare. There is a high number of blacks homeless in dependency of their relatives to survive. What does this mean? Are black people negatively effective by barriers that lower or in prison them so they can not sustain a higher lever of achievement? Why is there not peace in the community? Do blacks subjugate themselves to man handling drugs by living a thug life and killing their own race to the point the police lack interest of helping promote change? Are families so dismembered that the church does not care? How can the police monitor neighborhoods while not understanding the activity that takes place there to the point they do not want to get involved? They say it takes a village to raise a child. It may take the police

to nurture a village and not be the people's enemy and fight to guide towards trust in protecting civilians. Is it that the police fear blacks to the point that brutality is necessary. What happens where a minority is afraid of the police and its outcome where they do not want them around? How do we develop change where discrimination is not allowed by the police? Can we pass tougher laws that regulate a less hostile environment where minorities can live in a safe environment? We should create tougher laws to restrict the police from being in harm to minorities. A scenario is a young child who is arrested wants to run from police and is shot. The child did not have a weapon. Is this right? Are minorities really a threat? A scenario is a young lady is in disturbance to the community. They call the police. In fear the lady does not want to cause a scene and wants to leave. The

police tazer her and she dies. Is this right? A young poor child from the neighborhood country store, runs out of the store with a piece of candy without paying and she is shot in the back. Dead at age 8. Is this right? When do minorities begin to ask for change. Is it that minorities are poor and do not matter. We should offend stereo types of minorities. They want the same rights as everyone else. Slavery Slavery began in the 14th century and continued through the 18th century for 400 years. Today men are still embodied with racism. More than half the population of black men are being incarcerated in prisons, while women are left destitute to raising their children alone to support through prostitution. Young children are raising themselves without a parent

attending their needs. The young children make their own decisions they are treated harsher discipline in survival in society that does not care. This is still institutionalized slavery where black people are withdrawn from a society that dictates hatred. It is relevant that the racism of the past does not exist in the same form today. Every time I hear racist slurs, my feelings are hurt. I wish I could scrub my skin color off and it stays with me. My skin pigment is a part of my identity. The hole person in me becomes withdrawn. I feel that the skin determines how one is looked upon. Stereotypes are attached to skin tone. You belong to a gang, you are on drugs, you belong in prison, you are uneducated, you are an alcoholic, you are a whore...No blacks allowed, you are different. Racism is a catalyst for emancipation. Racism defies true character. When people begin to

label man, he is denying his true essence from the beauty within. Through my lifetime I heard these comments being said. Words can cripple the sole inside of man to want to turn away to deny his self image. How does one overcome his ability to succeed when he is encased in slavery. Society states you need a good education. Three strikes you are out and depended on homelessness. Women can not afford to raise their children it becomes an never endless cycle of welfare to each generation. College tuition is very expensive and once you graduate there is no determination you can use your degree to work remedial jobs. The leaders in society help doing volunteer work for the church and organizations to benefit the community. For positive change; is inevitable. It is an never ending cycle of poverty passed down from each generation to face the

consequences to become the stereotypes and labels brought upon them in society to look upon. Church is an insolvent answers to be a reborn Christian the first step in asking for help to survive on current issues going on in your life. Lord please grant me the peace of mind and the serenity to live my life in accordance of God...

Unsafe Work Practices Americans should be aware of unfair practices of human labor in China. Unsafe practices in factories is a well know practice represented in the Industrial Revolution of the late 1800's and early 1900's in America. It was an unpopular act to hire young children to work in factories that had bad influence,

unhealthy and unstable work ethics. It is now illegal to hire children to work at an early age. The factories then were so evasive that people were dying or faced being harmed working in those factories. America should learn a lesson from its past on its own homeland that labor practices are unjust in China. The Chinese helped America build its railroads. America should be supportive in helping China solve its issues. China need to create a union where their factories members can vote on how to apply safety standards as a work ethic. Americans look at the underground prostitution rings in America and unsafe importing slaves from China to work in our factories as unconstitutional. It should be the same way in China; unconstitutional practices. Americans should not support factories that support China by not importing their products unless they change their

ways. America does a lot of business in China. Unsafe practices should not be overlooked. America can mandate laws that prohibit unfair litigation that may future impede and support China unless they are willing to change. The Idea in Brief Should companies needing a new CEO pick someone from inside or outside? Insiders know the firm and its people, but they're often blind to the need for radical change. Well, we're looking for someone to create a bridge back to China for the Chinese diaspora. The site should inform readers about contemporary China, including the arts, pop culture and the nation's rapid development. It should also help those growing up away from China learn about the roots of the culture, such as family life, mythology and religion. Content should primarily provide deep background and reference on Chinese culture and current events.

Although the site is not primarily a history site, articles on China's rich past will naturally be included. Since news services operating within China deal with censorship, there is some call to cover major news and put it in context. From the prison cell where he contemplated an executioner's bullet, a migrant worker named Wang Binyu gave an anguished account of his wasted life. Unexpectedly, it rippled across China like a primal scream.

Global Climate It is the responsiblity of the U.S. to create ways for a higher environmental global climate agreement as an example to the rest of the world.

America is an example to the world when it comes to protecting our environment. The U.S. acts as a doctorment to change. The role of the U.S. has been to find ways in using energy, find ways in using coal efficiency, finding ways to recycle products, controlling waste and consumption. The U.S. is an example when it comes to storing energy. Hoover Dam was built to restore energy. Factories sine the 1800's monitored ways to improve the use of coal admisions in the air as we created safer car emisions. Cars are biodegradable when made out of plastic instead of hard iron. Collections of cans, plastics are waste prevention. Since the 70's, there has been a litter control

prevention towards fines for littering neghborhoods. Animals like the eagle species create habitation from distinction where animals have the right to live. There should be a use of oil and coal control to protect the environment from depleting. There should be a better global climate agreement in the U.S. solely because Americans care about the world. If we do not protect our world, we will cease to have one. If we are role models, others will follow knowing that it is an important issue that others see examples and they respond caringly as well. Global protection is a rhetoric that needs to be addressed. Global warning is important when we see ice glaciers melt at rapid rates leaving pinguins and polar bears to multiply with a lack of food. The weather can change the habitat we live in. The

weather has an effect globaly on crops. If the weather were to change climate, it would be impossible for the soil to graze properly that can lead to famine. Some land could become dry or too wet. If there were a climate change in the world, it could effect the industry sell of animal products. People would have to adjust to their living habits, if there were a climate change. Something needs to be done.

HIV/AIDS American youth are engaging in sex acts as teenagers. This is dangerous to think about. Over the years Americans were addressed with Aids, while primary decease of having herpes, scabs or virginal itching were more aware than Aids.

Aids was started in Africa where the virus was wide spread and troubling from exposed monkeys. Aids existed prior to when it was first known. The health care crisis made aware that Americans had Aids, only, it was not as detrimental as it is known now. The epidemic created a natural prevention measures to disturb the spread of Aids. It is known that Aids kills. Celebrities like Johnson, made it aware that anyone can fall a victim from the disease . Aids is active participants with gay men and lesbian women who do not practice safe sex. It spreads with having multiple sex partners and unsafe sex. It can be a result from using bad needles intervening in drug addicts.

It is important that people practice safe sex. It was noted in high school students that condoms are distributed to prevent sex deceases . Like Africa, I feel that the Caribbean should protect themselves from a decease that is detrimental to survival legacy. They deserve expertise advise to over a quarter million people it could effect. Like Africa, the Caribbean should be involved in education to make aware of Aids. In the Caribbeans, there should be precautions where vaccines sent out. In the Caribbeans, medical precautions to test for Aids should be available whether antonymous or out in the open. A young innocent girl, wanted a boy friend. He pressured her into being with him. He wanted sex. One night after a date, the young boy offered to kiss

the young girl. She thought she show him how much she cared for him. They engaged in a kiss that led to him having a discussion with her to his next move to take her virginity. Enthusiastically; he told her he whispered in her ear that loved her. He told her he was on medication. He told her he had a disease that he may have given her from swallowing his spit from kissing him. He admitted that now he had trapped her in being with him because she now shared the disease. She will now be medicated from this predatory effecting her for the rest of her life. A desease that may take her life. Precautions are not enough. It is everyone who suffers of victums of Aids. Kids are born of aids. Aids is a battle ground. Aids causes hostility and addictions. It is clear this is an argument that raises

questions of how to be a good resource to handle the pressure of safe sex practices. Is awareness consistent with the spread of the desease in the value of preventing the desease .

Role Play I believe the curtail of submissive drugs anywhere should become illegal. Drug trafficking involves negative criminal activity where ever it is. Drugs involves gangs and gang violence. The thought of allowing drugs filtrate near neighbors fowl represents in a negative manner. For example; drug use in America has filtrated havoc and hatred wherever evil lurks. In America; drug trafficking controls gang territory where it becomes unmissable. The drug lords

who control over people keeps threat to the controversy of poising the minds of the youth. Drugs are easy and it works. It becomes easy to get drugs anywhere because it is universal and illegal. Drugs are so subversive I have seen 3rd graders bring it to school to share with their friends. Weed is is not a burden when used as a pain killer by common people instead of going to the doctor. Cocaine illegitimacy is in favor amongst American athletes. The media uses drugs in movies and sports as a distraction and a burden that everyone is aware of. Once used in the media it attracts drug use amongst junior high and high school students. Drugs are so easy that a family can earn a decent income of over $30 grand in a half a year and with this choice real work does not matter. Where there is drugs, it attracts prostitution. Gangs will use girls to help promote the use of sell of drugs.

The young girls sell their bodies to get drugs. Young girls will act as prostitutes at even an early age of 8 to attract the sell of drugs. If Americans are aware that drugs are a problem, how will we control the problem anywhere else? Proper representation should be considered. In Las Vegas, the west side originally had no drug problem until the projects brought drugs into the neighborhoods. In the ghetto where you see them drive BMW or Jaguar cars and no one in the family works, you wonder why police become suspicious of how the poor black could drive this car. It is where you have leaders of the church like pastors, ministers who want men out of jails who commit these crimes and they promote the use of drugs in some of the churches. It is where innocent people are killed through drive bys to debate and ask for truth and God's calling. How could we in this country support

the use of drugs when the drugs are being poured into this country by whites or people who have the money to support drug trafficking by the police and politicians. Any government who defines drugs illegal we need to find ways to stop the sell of drugs. If drugs became legal nothing would change. People's lives would still be effected negatively neutral. Do we want the same for Bolivia and Afghanistan? How do we control drug popularity and sells? Is there an answer by example? Police profiling should be allowed there with the same tough laws we have in America to clean some of the mess up. We need to be by example to promote ways of peace with its people.

Obsticles We Face

The situation faced now in Africa is from a long course of fighting disputes that have gone on for centuries. Tribes in Africa are known to being rebellious over frivolous things such as gain power over the other entity. Gaining power means gaining control over another's resources. What is going on in Africa is called a civil war. It is a war where thousands of people are hideously dying for the cause of property. Africa is a big country that is divided into many small countries. When one country becomes rich in resources the others get jealous and instead of communicating and sharing Africans go to war to control over the resources. It is such a shame this is a third world country. Gaining power says a lot of how money is generated. If Americans wanted to fight for peace in the Congo, they should negotiate reasons behind how unification of power can lead to

upward mobility and fornicate reasons for positive change as an outcome to peace. War is a means of demonstrating power over another. War is won like a fight; whomever loses is the weakest where you make up and move onward. War does not really solve conflict it ravishes over the idea of control. War is a power struggle. If America can promise the Congo a good deal in the devision of power; the war will stop. The fight over oil, food, resources, diamonds is worth the controversy of who is in control of the riches. Wars like this have gone on all over the world. This is nothing new in Africa. Africa should want a country where they can unite the devisions of power to eradicate change. Africa can sustain into a first world country if they all knew how to get along. Americans came to American for personal freedoms. These freedoms are a priviledge. Americans gathered in

masses to create trade with other countries. The slaves helped build America in comercial labor of minding the fields for free labor to raise money for Americans. Africa too has a history where Europeans moved there to control the resources of Africans. Europeans took control of the Africa, devided the country and left it as many small villages where they could not sustain within themselves. The Struggle I believe everyone in the world is entitled to clean air and water and a bill of good health in the pursuit of happiness. America is a first world country that has all of the above that matters in sustaining a good bill of health. Other countries like Kenya and Ethiopia do not have access to the same conditions. Third world countries like India, China and Africa have people

who are under nourished and poor that live in an unsanitary

environments. We need to govern

countries by provided aid to the less fortunate. Sure there are homeless that live on the streets of America that are living in better than the people in third world countries. America plays a good role in protecting our environment from erosion. Helping third world countries by supplying food and health care are established to change the system. America throws away enough food that could feed the needy of poor countries everyday. God made this world for us to take care of it. I feel proposals for an irrigation system to lay pipes and wells to provide clean water should be an effort to provide clean water to Kenya and Ethiopia. I do not know why it is taking so long to cure the deceased water. One thing they say about blacks is that they will never learn how to govern

themselves because there is always someone against it. Africa needs to curtail a government that would mandate healthier living conditions by laying out a plan to do it. All over Africa there should be a irrigation system to provide clean water. Sanctions should be made where healthier living conditions are important where they all find a way to work together to have this done. Africans in America are an example of what Africa can become. Leaders should be led by example to help not only themselves but to govern each country in Africa proper and growth. Africans need to educate their people on how to create an economic system where they can build Africa. By securing health care we can secure a nation. There is no excuse that there is places where clean water is not available. Africans in America at one time did not have the resources to survive but we

overcame. Africa can do the same to create a government that provides health care to each African. I dream that in Africa an immigration system where pollution is out lowed. I have a dream in Africa people are no longer living in shacks or on the street where housing developments are made to house the poor. I dream in Africa where people are being educated on their health in ways to sustain a community of poor so they do not have to live in poor resources. America has communities where the people have to go outside their area to find jobs and go to school and later come back to the community to help development and advancement. Africa can do the same to endorse programs that will help and not hurt them. All Africans should be computer literate. India as a third world country is computer literate. The African economy would improve with the use

and knowledge on computers. This is one way Africans can give back to their community. African citizens should protest for a better Africa. They can protest for better health. Education is the key to opening a closed mind.

Uniforms Controversy Public school students should wear uniforms. There should be a code of dress ethically for students to follow. Students who wear uniforms are committed to the school. The dress code protects poor students from rich students. The dress code limits gang affiliation. A student who wears a dress code shows stature and belief in his school. A dress code is a uniform stating that the student belongs to an

institution. A dress code makes everyone look alike to deter discrimination. A dress code prevents any affiliation to religion, race and creed. A dress code allows individualism amongst students. A dress codes illuminates social groups on campus. Uniforms are good to distinguish different schools to promote school color. Dress code is a part of school pride. It shows everyone has one thing in common.

Summer Summer is filled with so much beauty. The climate is pleasant. The forest scenery is always plush and green. The birds chirp, squares frolic through the trees and the rooster call his spouse. Everyday is full of

so

much

warmth

and

light.

Nancy could hardly wait for the plain to land. She was going to visit her papa and grandma this summer. She would receive so much love from them, she missed not being around them for so long.

There they were with loving arms ready to greet her. The weather was damp from rain. The weather would deter her plans to go fishing. It is usually a sunny day. Her grandma had prepared a healthy meal when she arrived home. The scent from inside their house brought memories of life and love of cooking. Gamma had surprised her with apple turn overs for dinner desert. This hearty meal filled her tommy. Only she had prayed for better weather the next day. She spent the remaining of the day in front of the fire place. Papa had plenty of wood for the fire to keep

everyone warm. They spent quality time reading the Bible

for

Bible

study

the

next

day.

She awake early the next day to prepare for church. God had promised her better weather. She could gaze at the sky, the heavens above covered with gaseous clouds with sun light beaming through the sky. It was a

beautiful

scene.

She had Sunday school and church and after church she quickly dressed to go fishing. She had a specific wear to go fishing. It was an old pair of jeans and tshirt. Her papa took her to the family grocery store. He lived in the forest. It was then she could pick her choice of fishing rods. She chose a shiny blue rod. Papa had this one on special stock prepared for when she

came.

It

was

no

secret.

Nancy began looking on the ground for bait for her endeavor. She found many ground worms and bugs to

use

as

live

bait

to

hook

her

fish.

It was not a problem for her to go to the back of the house. The worst fear was the live snakes and wild animals who hunted their prey in the forest. There was a pond in the back of papa house that papa would raise cat fish throughout the year for the sole purpose

to

take

his

grand

daughter

fishing.

Nancy began to hook her line with fresh bug. She planted the string attached to the fishing pole into the water waiting for a hungry fish to be trapped. Catfish is Nancy favorite fish to eat so she engaged in a worthy treat when she got home from fishing. It did not take long, the fish began to pull on the string as she began to wheel in the bait. The fish must have been heave and gave a good fight. Papa began to help Nancy wheel the fish in. To her surprise the fish were big catch as she began to savor how it would fill

her

tummy.

By the end of the day, Nancy and Papa caught at least 8 fish which grandma cleaned and fried with a pot of spaghetti. This was a spacial day indeed for her family for God had answered her prayers and being blessed with hope and love from people who cared.

The Clasics There

are

many

literary

classics

that

are

revolutionized by nature and content. When I think of the Scarlett Letter, it reminds me of infidelity and trust and honor within a couple. It was considered a sin in Salem to have a child out of wedlock that took reason for her punishment. She had to be committed by principle and ethics to keep her

lover a secret and withheld her father was the baby's daddy. When I think of Shake spear play Romeo and Juliet, I think about how young kids are with first love. This romance drama still carries over today where a young couple falls in love and runs away to end with a sad note that they committed suicide because their parents were against the marriage. This is how immature love can result in a tragedy. The film The Color Purple is a metaphor for a soliloquy. It story line occurs in the early nineteenth century where prearranged marriages were permitted. This is an example of fatal love can have a positive ending. Children were taken away from their mothers then and men married young teenage wives. It was thought a man needed a good women to perform sex

and to keep up the household. Sometimes sex is a pod to pee on when it is not with your baby's father. I would see Ma'Dere ask to pour oatmeal on this man she wed because today it would be called spouse abuse. It is like the one lady who cut off her husband penis for spousal abuse demanding sex. If by any means, then marriages were to be kept until death as vowed. It is good she found out about her family and God allowed hope that she could be reunited with them. This film is also a literary classic. When I think of The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin and Uncle Tom's Cabin, I am reminded on the barriers of racism that prevents sharing relations amongst races. It is a shame many of these books are banned from schools when students can learn from the mistakes of

past experiences by opening a book and letting their minds explore different topics.

Media or Hype t is very important for us to protect our environment from depleting. Global warming is a threat to our environment. We must sustain our way of living. The global warming ensures that the habitat of its species is cared for. We know the earth in how it has involved over the years. We must find ways that will insure climate control is permissive for every species are met on earth. We must preserve our forest in natural setting. Cutting down too many trees, hunting endangered species, causing to much heat in the glaciers, can negatively effect the living habitat. We

must find new cost effective and safe ways of using fuel. The current way destroys the ozone. More parks and up keeping of lawns is good for the environment atmosphere. Energy safe products must be managed to protect our environment in safe methods. This is our world to live in. Every nation should be given safe health care, clean water, a good education and nutritious food to sustain a healthy lifestyle. We must care for our own action to help one another.

Player, Spoken Word

I thought I had a man. A BMW. Ooops; but he fooled me into believing he was a good man. You see, I was not good to myself. I was not true to myself when I trusted my body to be used for free, for good conversation, for lust. I had been living a lie. I dreamt of the fairy tale wedding, having kids, a house, a good car and good job if I met the perfect mate. I thought worldly on him but you see he played me with his mind control act, that I believed it. I was his slut. You see, the player was a class act. He had it going on. He was all that. When I thought I had him

wrapped around me pinky, I turned out to be a freak under neath the sheets. Brother had it going on. He was fine to me. He had a bank roll that he loved to spend on me. His personality was smooth. His conversation was intellectual. He had class. If he asked me to jump, I would say how high. For this man I was willing to go the distance. Sex was so good, I aint lying, I thought he was the one. You see, each moment of ecstasy was a lie. I was fooled into believing sex would make him special. Sex would make him all mine. Sex was the foundation of our relationship. Sex would keep him coming back to me. I had to have it. It did not matter where I did it. We could have sex in the jeep, sex at the crib, sex on the counter, sex at work, sex at school. I had an addiction to giving this man what he wanted, wherever he wanted whenever he wanted it. He wanted it so much; sex was the mind game we played. He tricked me into believing he needed me. He needed my loving as a token of chastity. With that said, I found the truth about sex after each child. He left me bare foot and pregnant year after year. That all those years of commitment, I was played. That I was a warm hole to pee in. that I was the kick on the side with a concubine to raise alone, no but by his cousin or maybe he said to give our child to his girlfriend or wife to raise.

He said I was about nothing. I felt like nothing. There are 3 sorts of women to a man, his loyal wife, his loyal friend and his loyal freak. I was the freak he came too when his wife was not there to submit to him. Men are control freaks and if you are foolish enough to believe it, you have been played. I thought I was good enough for him to come back to me. I was a bag of tricks. Now all I speak of are commitments and having just one true love. All the men I knew were like this. I did not ask to be a hutchie mamma playing tricks by a bunch of high rollers. I wanted to be the innocent virgin who was respected and treated like an African queen. All I am saying is do not make the same mistake sleeping from man to man, when you deserve better.

Color

If a color pertains to a hue How depth of the hue pertains to light While a mixture of hues define a contour How much contour is needed to define beauty If I were black, brown, yellow, white or purple It would make solid black however you define it The beauty in is if opal is in fashion Black goes along with everything.

Reunited

Take these worn shackles off my feet You are wearing me down With your controlling episodesof remotion You do not own me Let me be free to express myself I felt you hold on to remit a fantasy of yours When I don't feel the same way as kids do I want to feel free from being tied down I am tired of being reminded of you When I don't exist, time does not persist And I must move on, becausethere is a soul Inside of me peeping out wanting to be free But you won't let me escapefrom your spirit You are not my soul mate, not the one I want Not the one I dream of and still you wait for my return Your ghost hunts me, stalks me follows my every mood

Now, I must go to the pasture to hide For I can not love anyone now that you have broken my heart

Four Colored Girls, Poem Script

I cry many tears of endearment Many sleeplessnights

I speak loudly in anger Bitter harsh feelings of denial

Confusion asking for respect When emotions lost its meaning

I cry many tears of rejection Their words speak louder than words

I whisper, I whisper, I whisper words of wisdom A freedom of expression

Pondering in fear

I cry many years for forgiveness I have wrongfully sinned

I pray for the strength to protect my soul For my fate to determine my keeper

Woman’s Voice: Happiness‌is joy. Being able to share laughter at your faults that are both embarrassing and demeaning. It means to come to realization that God made humans that a couple has the ability to mess up. It means to confront with each others insecurities to admit to your faults when you are wrong and praise glory when you are right. Happiness means to accept each others feelings to trust them. Happiness means to let your fate grow as whole.

Man‘s Conscious: I wanted to confront you. It had been something I held within for some time. I ask why I feel alone when we are a couple. I want you to understand I miss the ways things went. Now, I feel hurt in my heart. You come along with a different personality. My brother died and I feel things are different. We do not hang out the way we use to. We do not talk like we used to and sex is not the same. I feel why we can’t talk this out. If you lost all reason for what we have I must leave.

Woman’s Voice: Sadness… is silence. To allow your feelings to express anger. It is to feel anger is not in control. Where dramatic outburst come from the heart asking to be forgiven. It is the ability to cry out outburst for forgiveness to acknowledge your feelings are heard. To cry is to say words you wanted to say and to feel the things you could not feel alone.

Man’s Conscious: Your ability to not love is my inability to trust you. How can I allow us to grow when we distance ourselves?I feel you do not want me to trust you after your brother died, because, you shut me out when I

am trying to cope with him not being around. There is a line between us, between fate and faith. If we are both willing to make this choice, we must both be willing to walk the distance together. The words we choose not to say, is what we fail in this relationship.

Woman’s Voice: If you are the man I thought you were, the man I fell in love with, I need you let me to love you.

Man’s Voice: I want to be a man. I am a man. As I reach this right of passage, I need you to be there cheering me on as my partner in life.

Silence…asthe couple held each other and stared in each other eyes in silence.

My Favorite Poem

The world is a quilt and each patch is a nation

Bound by a thread since the days of creation Adorned with great color and radiant splendor Though divided by race and religion and gender In some eyes, it is handsome, in others contorted The patches are different, unmatched and unsorted Incongruous in pattern, in shape and in color Not one is much similar to any other So some try to imagine one great design But in truth our uniquenessis really just fine Nations and patches of all kinds and all sorts Customs, religions, languages, sports This is okay if each patch has its space And on the quilt of the world, each nation has its place But the stitches that bind us are easily shed By the wars that are fought and the words that are said We must realize the appearance of no patch is inferior

And the ways of no nation can make it superior Divided by oceans, united by a dream The world is a quilt and our love is its seam

Stood Up, Structured Poem

The Beginning A sigh of reprisal was an ambivalent cry My aching heart dispels anger of being told no Over and over again - the denial

The Middle Longing for your acknowledgement To be accepted into your realm of social life I wait for your arrival to return my soul you took

The End With every word lost in speech I yearn to express the pain my heart feels To not be loved by you

The Cult

Locked up Ungrateful minds Neglected by their peers Just a matter of time Papa don’t claim him Mamma can’t save him Bargain with his own life Just a matter of time Ill doctrine lessons off the street

Idle minds dwindles about their peeps Money laundering swindles of what to keep Just a matter of time Hustling cash on the dime Got to get paid, got to get mine Took another life an innocent child Just a matter of time Battling life’s struggle Gang bangers style Hope I live to see 21 Just a matter of time

The Negra Saga of a Ghetto Queen

Harassment and denial From opposing religions

To either flunk her out Or to face rational decisions Drive bys, car bombs, and parents threats The unreachable child Had many regrets Angry crowds knock out car windows Vengeful gangs kicked in doors All against one student from reaching Her educational goals God would not judge her But grant her creed

Stereotypes, Spoken Word

Stereotypes, is that a gesture? Are you entitled to pass judgment based? On preconceived thoughts? Is the circulation of thoughts based on? Rumors? Do you judge because you do not care to understand my position? Is it because you never got to know me and do not care? Can you really tell by first impression that I am different? Is it my outward appearance, you base judgment that I fit those stereo types? Can you tell by looking at me, what you do not like about me? Is it my outward Appearance you hesitate to retaliate towards? Must we bargain with a Liturgy? Is it something I said that you’re against? Is it over something? Someone said about me that has got you all fired up? Did I not follow?

Through based on your ideology of reasoning that frustrated you? Is it Right to judge, because of how I acted out that you must try to change To your preferences? Shall I admit something is wrong with me? How Doesone respond to stereotypes?I am who I am.

To Love Oneself, Spoken Word

To love is to embody emotion to penetrate deep down in your soul. It is The emotion to love oneself; because one must love oneself in order to Allow others to love you. Love is feeling of greatness that you place God above oneself; because God it the gatekeeper of your soul. Are you

Feeling me? Loving one means you are blessed that you feel good About you and you are doing right by God. Loving one means That you have an attitude of pride. You represent that feeling of Revelation that you have reached redemption of the mind, body and Soul. The way you carry yourself is how others will judge you. Love God, Love life and love one self.

To Dream to be an American

I am an African American And a composite of many dreams I am a patriot of God's faith And an antedate of a black reverie I am an American Born and reared From different attributes of people Who have each bled or shed a tear From the battlefields To the highest court From the past until now Have stood like true patriots

With hope a new hope for all humanity to be found I am a true American Though how difficult it must seem But I am one true African American Who dares to dream?

Imagine how we sported our bikes down Lance Street With polished spokes as wheels spinned As the chrome stood out balanced in the wind Imagine the decor of red and white ribbons pom pomes That decorated the handle bars The plastic horn that beeped pedestrian warnings That you have arrived Imagine the sounds of a hand made engine wheels Sung from the tongue of a card Pinned from a clothes pin to the spoke Humming, humming, humming Imagine your wheel rider was bold red Proclaiming your mark to the streets That everyone fan acknowledged As you performed tricks One wheel and no hands Gaping over the side walk to the street In and out speeding through traffic As you proclaimed your glory

In your hand made car, your bike It and I a young road scavenger

Vegas, Prose

Let me introduce you to my small world. I grew up in the seventies, in a poor neighborhood, in the ghetto where poverty prevailed. It is where dreams meant to either be teachers, made or trash men or to be imprisoned or homeless one generation after the next. I attended a parochial school in North Las Vegas. My parentsworked two jobs to make ends meet. I adapted to gang violence in the streets. Where shooting and drive bys were common. Gangs would hang out at the schools drinking 8 balls, throwing broken bottles as I passed by. Young gang members wouldrespect older ones while they hosted neighborhood meetings. The cutest gang member would be the straight A students who would go on to professional athletes whodealt drugs. It is where clubs would be shot up after each week. Some neighbors mentality meant to do roguish things like trashing street signs and writing gang graffiti on walls to mark their territory. Teens hung out in groups to watch thestreets smoking weed until driven off

by police officers. It is where there wasa Conner liquor store and church could be found on every corner. Where gangs were not invited in the church and the store owner knew its neighborhood kids thatshopped there often and would not dare rob the store. Throughout the year, boysplayed on the basketball court training future stars as girls watched the boysplay hoping to catch one. There were street drill teams thinking of rebuttal routines for competitions. Prostitution was elevated until they got pregnant to trap a man to marry them. Girls knew who as kids who they would marry, how many children they would have, what kind of car they would drive, what type of house they would live in and knew imagined impoverished career they would work. Block parties would go on every summer where anyone could go to their block neighborhoodparties or hang out at the park block parties. Kids would have water balloon fights at the end of the school year. Neighbors would sit out playing loud music, while playing dominoes and young girls braided hair while talking girl talk. It was a time where everyone would support one another prone to peace when we were all one family.

Player, Spoken Word

I thought I had a man. A BMW. Ooops;. but he fooled me into believing he was a good man. You see, I was not good to myself. I was not true to myself when I trusted my body to be used for free, for good conversation, for

lust. I had been living a lie. I dreamt of the fairy tale wedding, having kids, a house, a good car and good job if I met the perfect mate. I thought worldly on him but you see he played me with his mind control act, that I was believing it. I was his slut. You see, the player was a class act. He had it going on. He was all that. When I thought I had him wrapped around me pinky, I turned out to be a freak under neath the sheets. Brother had it going on. He was fine to me. He had a bank roll that he loved to spend on me. He personality was smooth. He wanted it so much, sex was the mind game we played. There are 3 sorts of women to a man, his loyal wife, his loyal friend

and his loyal freak. I did not ask to be a hoochie mamma playing tricks by a bunch of high rollers. I wanted to be the innocent virgin who was respected and treated like an African queen. All I am saying is do not make the same mistake sleeping from man to man, when you deserve better.

To my Unborn, Spoken Word

…sorry I disrespected you. All the times I lived longing for your daddy to step up to the plate, longing for your daddy to step up to the plate, longing for your daddy to step up to the plate to claim you. For he did not know of his Godly creation. His own salvation. Instead I saved you from the agony and distress before you were born into poverty, abandonment and denial. I protected you from neglect. It is what I thought I wanted. It is about me. It is what no one understands. And when I inhaled life, I felt the taste of your breath when I aborted you. I feel the selfish pain of guilt that I betrayed you. It has always about me what I wanted to have in life. It has always

about me what I wanted to have in life. It has always about me what I wanted to have in life. I could not support you. I thought I wanted us to grow together through fate to face rejection from ignorance and betrayal. I wanted my baby daddy to be a daddy. I wanted your daddy to be a daddy. I wanted your daddy to be a daddy. And so I kept you a secret. Sorry my decision was final with out much thought not knowing the inevitable of one day seeing you achieve. I chose this path, to not be born without reason but with just cause. And if I see purpose through reasoning, wanting to tell your daddy the secret that lies within me, our souls will be redeemed. Many tears, many tears, many tears; I cry.

Educating Minds on History

History is knowing our past Our history began as African cults Woven a refined unit of tapestry Conflicting faith The Muslims and the Catholics Bandaged woven men, women and children as slaves By fault we could not communicate, read or write We could not marry, we practiced no faith We worked for free, to tend to farming And in houses as maids or nannies We knew God, and we fled for freedom Under the mercy of being killed; we fled And fought for freedom of slavery; granted us Alone we were granted nothing but survival We built a foundation to live on We found a stronger fate We became soldiers, educators and proprietors We reached out and gave back to our community We paid our dues as slaves to this nation We helped build this nation Through fate, we persevered, we made progress

Do You Believe in Love There is something about you That caught my eye I fell in love with your spirituality To hear your voice I can not stop wanting you I am fallen for you Calling you, needing you, wanting you To meditate your next move Lost in words I feel you care Engaged in life struggle My weakness is To share your touch Hold me in your arms I inhale life And exhale passion,

Is There a Need For War?

Regards to War in Iraq Is war a power struggle? Here, we have two figures who are trying to control to dominate over the other. The great U.S. has conquered over many in battle in belief, according to the constitution, to create liberty for all. Is war just? According to the U.S. creed, war is justifiable by means to protect the rights of all citizens. It is right to fight for a good cause? It is good to defend your beliefs? It is good to protect endangered lives? War is necessary, to fight and defend for a greater cause. Or is it?

Oxymoron There is no racism today; but why affirmative action. There is no need for equality; but we suffer invaluable differences. There is no need for a sound education; but everyone needs a degree to prosper. There is no need for safety; but there is danger of violence. There is no need for celibacy; but we have abortion.

There is no need for protection; but we have aids. There is no need to struggle; but we want peace. There is a need to love; but we distance ourselves.

Loneliness Nestled upon a wooden bow quietly disdain from truth Seductive stare beneath the horizon Fallacy, justifies; yet, undermines reason

Poverty

Growing up in the Las Vegas Ghetto Poverty is not having the econonomic status to support oneself, having to wear hand me downs past from one generation to the next, having low self esteem in school because you are unable to compete with peers, being malnutrition, socially unbalanced, being illiterate, being mentally unstable, unable

to live a balanced life trying to cope with ones own deficiency, where the means to succeed means to survive according to ones self worth, making the best out of poor resources, living check to check, day by day on minimum wage

What a Word Implies Civil Rights are when... A word is a symbol that can be used out of context. To define a word is to emphasize meaning. A word can be a metaphor or simile or a gesture. A word can be used to describe. The fights for equality mean equal access. To define equality means to inherit opportunity: Opportunity to value a good education. Opportunity to have a good foundation. Opportunity to have the freedom once denied. Such words display hatred and degradation. We should not call each other a “Niger.

BLACK VOICE

Black people were brought to America as slaves. For many years slavery indoctrinated American life. Black people fought for their individual freedom to exhale to

what society is today. After Martin Luther King Jr. died, did the civil rights movement dissipater? It seemstoday many rights are taken for granted becausethe youth do not understand what the key principle in which the movement meant for blacks. Racism today is elevated where there are barriers. It is as if they raised the bar for black standards. It is not that black people do not care. I feel it is black people who struggle each day with no foundation to restore. Black America does not protest. There are no sitting INS in malls. Some do not care to exercise the right to vote. Many voices are detuned and not heard. Wake up America. The only way black America is going to achieve is if we care to help our own kind, by supporting our own race. The same politics used to hide statutes should be used to implement black standards. We should set our own standards and our own goals in order to advance. Some say there will be no more civil rights becausewe stand to back stab one another in the same struggle afraid of the outcome or just by wanting to get ahead. United we stand, divided we fall. We must educate our youth to know this principle so they can become the future leaders and our freedom will not dissipate.

Street code of ethics is irresponsible. It is a shame when kids have to find an outlet to turn to look up to kids in gangs as a family when the code of ethics should be taught at home and not in the street. Gang violence is steadily growing population. Gangsdistribute drugs, prostitution, graffiti and the highest number of deaths in the population. Kids turn to gangs to find a social commitment or a family. Parents need to talk to their children more. Parents need to find time to do activity with their children. Parents need to take time out to find out how their children are doing in school and how they may help their children's education. Children need to know how important an education is to having a good means to support their family and future. Kids need more activity to be put off the street where idol minds turn into the devil's advocate. An activity can be dancing, sports or recreation. An activity will provide a good source of positive influence they need to have the right discipline and code of ethics instilled in them to survive. Jail is not an option when positive influence can impact their lives forever.

Racism has many forms. Becauseof the formalities involved in racist acts, racism will always exist. Racism is defined as prejudices and discrimination is in effect. Prejudice is when have preconceived notion towards another group. Discrimination is when you act against a race becauseof prejudices. Becausetheir are so many types of influences that react to racism, it will never leave. Some racist feelings may be that all blacks are poor and steal. Some racist feelings may be ageist other minorities. When all minorities get together and try to come with a solvency for all racism there is no real solution that can prevent everything that goes on becauseit may apply in one form or another. As activist raise the bar for one culture it applies to everyone leading to the feeling of segregation.

America is the foundation of an ethic. Slavery is a part of this ethic. The slaves helped build this nation economically. Slavery helped with trade of crops and industry. It is indebted in some minds that no man should be sold for a commodity. In this theory some Americans regret slavery as wrong. Americans depended on slaves to maintain the upkeep of their plantations. Black people were noted as second classcitizens. Some people believe in this country that America was here becauseof the pilgrims and it is there country. It is regarded after the American war the black slave protected the country from being taken over while the Muslim raided their homes. It is a statement that at one time there were more slaves than white men. It was becauseof the industrial revolution that President Jefferson realized there was no more need for slavery and thus we had the Civil war that came to the end of slavery. There has been no apology until today from the government that institutionalized slavery was wrong.

Affirmative action derived solely on the basis of creating equality employment for minorities who are victims of discrimination. Our past history as a nation did not have equal statutes granted to all its citizens. It is said to give America its huddled masses. Some people feel that their race is superior to other races in that minorities are subordinate to man. When the slave was brought to America he was considered 1/4 human thus creating the sale of a man for economics pretenses. It is written in history that it is an outcry to state that a man can be owned by another man. Minorities throughout history were not always treated fairly. In the fifties and sixties the Jim Crow law was put into effect to a level of discrimination. Blacks were not allowed to eat in diners, were not allowed to use public bathrooms, were not allowed to sit in front of movies or theaters, were not allowed to have an equal education, and were not allowed to sit in the front of the bus. Blacks were considered second classcitizens. Martin Luther King Jr. fought for equality amongst its people. Thus; we have affirmative action. Affirmative actions grants opportunity to find employment. Some people disagree that affirmative action is fair for hiring practices to grant

employment solely on the basis of race over someone who has more experience and knowledge to fulfill the job. Somepeople feel it is unfair to recruit minority students to college applications to support their athletic teams, while other students are denied their application that has better academics to enter an Ivey league college. Affirmative action allows minorities to articulate their voice in a political manner whereas the voice would normally not have been heard or as effective if they were not their. Some employers would use affirmative action to hire a minority to not discriminate if they had no minority employeesat their firm. The question in the hiring practices if the employers or schools were not recruiting based on race bust also on character and past influence in what the person can offer or add to the businessafter they are employed. We live in a world where racism exists. When we learn to overcome practices that eliminate discrimination, racism and prejudices then there will no longer be a need for affirmative action.

Martin Luther King Jr. day is honored in his name. Martin Luther King was an advocate demonstrating selfless acts in defense of civil rights. In comparison to Handy and Jesus,Martin Luther King fought a peaceful fight against discrimination. He represented human rights for minorities. It was not just a plight that would change civil rights for all minorities. The problem with the world today is that there is so much racism amongst all citizens it is hard to define the plight to freedom. When civil rights were activated it created opportunity for women and other minorities. He influenced the right to have a good education. To the blind, he made people

aware that discrimination is not right. He led the path to freedoms never allowed in history. He created opportunity never before admissible. He delivered apathy to Americans towards discrimination. He redefined invaluable right that blacks can contribute to society as effective participants in society. He gave blacks freedoms never before admissible in history.

When I begin to distinguish the line between color lines, I become color strict. High five. Oh my God, I begin to notice that God made the blacks with so many Hughes of skin tone. While white America looks at blacks that look alike, I appreciate the difference of a variety of color. It is like black men can be mocha Hough, coffee complexion, chocolate cafe, cafe late and many other colors that make the black male attractive to his black female counter parts. I am so sure that the black man relics his black sisters in the same context; beautiful like a butterfly. Color not only makes you wonder why the black male is attractive to other races for the same reasons of being a part of the package. I am scared of that. What is scary is color is what makes us human. When we realize we are

no different than any other human. Light skin tone is no differently treated than dark skin toned. Like lighter complexion was seen for year’s trendy over dark tones becausethey had a skin closer preferably to match white skin tone. Black people have enough to succumb where they are fighting for leadership at all means if it is to break another black down to get there. Color is not longer a factor. Like the mulatto in Louisiana created deposition to socializing with dark skin toned men. It is an inferiority complex whether a person Hough of skin is light or dark. I would not touch this with a ten foot pole. When a black marrying a white is considered a bi-racial couple, when a black marries light and dark it is considered inter racial couple. It is kind of like this, for years it seemed that a light black complexion women was the closest thing to marrying a white women when biracial marriage was unacceptable; for sure. Women have a problem with color when they compete with other cultures over men. Black women do not get along and now to meet their competition they date white men. Biracial marriage is becoming a social norm in the U.S. making race a myth over equality. Skin is only skin deep. What counts is like Martin Luther King said that we should not judge a person by the color of his skin, but the

content of his character. America needs to go beyond color lines and feel comfortable in his own skin with what is inside of him. Bi-racial dating is something new and familiar. There are a lot of important figures who marry and have kids out side their race. The slave owner is said to have bi-racial children. It has been going on a long time and yet not fully accepted by all. Sometimes the relationship does not always work. Military are known to marry bi-racially. Sometimes if you are black you may choose someone your own pigment over another tone. Falling in love is more than a skin tone. It is caring for what is inside. White men have character too. They are also human. It is possible to meet someone from another country and being caught off guard to fall in love with him for his personality. It crossesthe line with him and other African American men for people to question a bi-racial couple. It is surprising to see in America today that people are still color strict and feel that you better not test the boundary of bi-racial marriage. It is often compared to same sex marriage in a different way. Without the couple being the same thing, they can not have sex, they can not have children so why all the boo ha judging if they belong together or are they ready to have a child that is bi-racial or to look for another mom

for their child is awful. The Lord says; do not judge becausethis allows others to judge you.

God bless the meek and humble for he may inherit the world - The Bible. I believe we live in a society that is inhibiting by nature. My childhood was during the early 70's and 80's. We called ourselves the newer old school which was the generation between new and old school. We had a certain way of doing things different than the new school. How we worked computers, how we solved math problems and with our technique of writing and studying to prepare us for college and life. We believed in it takes a village to raise a child. Our neighbors were always looking out for us to protect us from wrong deeds. The children knew they were cared for. Las Vegas was a small city where everyone knew each other. If you were in trouble; everyone knew and as you were punished - you were put to shame by all your friends. You may have not wanted to get into trouble any

more. We survived poor resources growing up in a middle class neighborhood. If a neighbor needed something, it was provided by others. If a neighbor needed help cutting the yard or washing their car, getting medicine - it also was provided. Celebrations were where everyone would chip in to pay the expenses. It was necessary to attend church every Sunday. Church was a time to pray and socialize with parishioners who cared for the children as well. Every Sunday it was necessary to attend Sunday school to understand the liturgy of the Catholic Church. One had to wear dresses to church. On Easter and Christmas was a time to dress fancy in memory of Jesus. Everyone would mind their elders or they would be disciplined. And you better not act up in church because someone would be there to straighten you out. It was a time to pray. The women of the church were the threshold of the church keeping the faith in their child. Today; children talk back to their elders. Calculators are used in schools. Ebonics is used in English classes. We would have detention everyday after

school with a packed class room of students being disciplined to do their work. Today; kids are not kept after school because no one is held responsible for not having their children to doing homework. Kids are not being punished for doing wrong. Children face being shot at school or in their neighborhoods. It is a society where gang violence is strong. Our children are going to prisons. Church is no longer as valued. It is where children can where whatever they can afford to church. It is not as sacred. Children pierce any part of their bodies and where it to work. Baggy pants and jeans hanging off their hips is a trendy style. Who is setting the trends? The society of rappers and hookers in the videos is where the children motto to become. Where newer old school valued a good education, children today know they will make the same money dropping out of high school with an associate degree. It is a different society than today. Children respond with negative comments to what newer old school thought it as talking back. Talking back to an adult was not heard of. Responding with yes mama meant giving respect

to your elder. Making the most out of poor resources was survival in the world. We live in a society where the youth suffers being placed in prison to teach tolerance to a child. It is the tolerance taught back then that a child nurtured at home. It is a society of give and take, even if it means to hurt others. People pass by and not care likes the Good Samaritan. It is the attitude that gives or takes where if one had to destroy you to get what they want it is the only way out. It is the attitude what is in it for me. It is not a team of support like in the past. I feel no one really cares anymore.

When I begin to distinguish the line between color lines, I become color strict. High five. Oh my God, I begin to notice that God made the blacks with so many Hughes of skin tone. I profess in Christianity. I believe God is eternal. I believe in the forgiveness of sins. I believe in confessions will save my soul. I believe in life after

death. I believe in spirituality and after life. I believe in God and His religion. I do not believe a mistake I made as a child will have to hunt me through others moral faith. I believe that the mistake a child makes shall not define who you are as an individual in adult life. Mistakes are how a child grows into an adult. I made the mistake of being with my brother at the age of eight. I confessed my sins then to a preacher and still today I am hunted down by people being called a whore when we did nothing but see each other nude. He was 12 and I was 8. He as the older brother should have told me not to. I feel sorry even today when I am on trial by his girlfriend that wants to label and misjudge me by an unkind act and mistake I made as a kid. I am still being judged where she wants to steal my child because of my past. I feel sorry that it happened. I hear rumors. I hear whispers. None of it is true. We did not do anything and people choose to speculate any way. I have never been with a man since the age of 8. Growing up I faced having rocks thrown at me, being called a whore, being called a lesbian, them stating I was desperate for sex and now

with my therapist is judging my psychic life if I am justified as normal for wanting to keep by my religion and not have sex until after I am married. Priest who live their life like Jesus with no sex are labeled gay by out side religions. I know none of the things are true. Masturbation even is practicing safe sex. Selling your body for any type of monetary value is prostitution. My religion is against prostitution and yet I am judged for the one time at eight years old. I am almost forty now. I think of how many women have enjoyed sex so many times by the age of forty and yet I am labeled. It is discrimination. I am being misjudged. I admit it was a sin and I vow to die a virgin because of the curse from paranoia that led me to my decision. I feel verticality is the only way I can be free and my soul saved. If I led a life where I was to not date men, I would feel salvation from having sex. If I led a life to not have friends, I would be free from doing sinful acts. If I were to live in seclusion, I will alienate me from trespassers who do scare religious acts. If I were to practice the acts of kindness and being nice to people the same ways I

would want to be treated, my soul would be saved. If I lived a life practicing the words in the Bible, I will be free from desolation acts. They say an idol mind is the devil's den and I want to be free of sin. I feel I was cursed since the age of eight by the non Christian people used it to ruin my life. In my religion it is a sin to use God's words in vein. I would never hurt a child by molesting it. I feel every child should be free from sin and live their childhood free from sex. R Kelly is an example of a sex predator that needs help. Michael Jackson was never proven to do wrong and with R Kelly they have proof that he has an illness to molest young girls even at 13 years old on video. It is because of their money and fame they got away with it and it is unjust. The priest that rapes those young boys in the Catholic Church taking away their virginity is wrong and should receive punishment for their sins. Somehow we must find salvation in religion and the church. My church says that if you confess your sins and you have shown God you have changed your soul will be free from sin. I believe I made a mistake as a child and I want to be forgiven.

My great grandparents were born in the early 1900's. They worked for a two quarters between them per month. They found work picking cotton from the fields in Mississippi. The currency was different then. It was hardly sufficient to live off of. My great grandparents made it as far as an eighth grade education. Then it was the highest grade. As high as college they assumed. The drove a wagon. There were no cars or television nor radio then. They walked many miles to catch the bus on dirt roads. Classes were taught in small one room shacks. There books were not upgraded and poor. The dolls were pitch black Aunt Gamma dolls. My grandmother generation women could become nannies and maids. Men could find work in the civil service or something remedial even with an education. Their education made it as far as the 6th grade education.

My parents grew up in the Civil rights era. Mother says the only jobs available to Negro females were to become a nurse or teacher. One could earn as much as a few dollars a month. It was unheard of to become a secretary while it was for men. For men to find work; they could pick cotton. My parents were college educated. They each talked about how the economy affected their lives. One could buy a candy bar for one cent and maybe go to the movies for a dime. The value of a dollar inhibited social living. I did not find work until I was 26 years old as a cashier. I had a junior college education. I earned less than minimum wage at four dollars and hour. They say one should not judge a book by its cover for you may learn a lot about life in finding truth in what is written inside. Define integrity of the issues is a battle following the lead of misconception.

Insecure ignorant voices escape: Go home, go home nigger, you better quit. Ha, ha, ha we will show that dumb nigger who is the best. You can commit suicide nigger, we hope you die. How dare you give this dumb nigger a better grade? It is hard to believe that dumb nigger wrote this. The dumb nigger can not add. The dumb nigger can not spell. The dumb nigger belongs in prison. The dumb nigger has a mental problem. Who does the dumb nigger think he is? The nigger ought to be scared of us. At least I did not get a failing grade like the dumb nigger in the class. Take your face mask off nigger, it is Halloween. Escort this nigger out with hand cuffs. The dumb nigger is just sitting in the class. Your skin is as dark as this black marker and marked on the skin.

Slavery began in the 14th century and continued through the 18th century for 400 years. Today men are still embodied with racism. More than half the population of black men is being incarcerated in prisons, while women are left destitute to raising their children alone to support through prostitution. Young children are raising

themselves without a parent attending their needs. The whole person in me becomeswithdrawn. I feel that the skin determines how one is looked upon. Stereotypes are attached to skin tone. You belong to a gang, you are on drugs, you belong in prison, you are uneducated, you are an alcoholic, you are a whore...No blacks allowed, and you are different. Racism is a catalyst for emancipation. Racism defies true character. When people begin to label man, he is denying his true essence from the beauty within. Through my lifetime I heard these comments being said. Words can cripple the sole inside of man to want to turn away to deny his self image. How does one overcome his ability to succeed when he is encased in slavery? Society states you need a good education. Three strikes you are out and depended on homelessness.Women can not afford to raise their

children it becomesa never endlesscycle of welfare to each generation. College tuition is very expensive and once you graduate there is no determination you can use your degree to work remedial jobs. The leaders in society help doing volunteer work for the church and organizations to benefit the community. For positive change; is inevitable. It is a never ending cycle of poverty passeddown from each generation to face the consequencesto become the stereotypes and labels brought upon them in society to look upon. Church is an insolvent answer to be a reborn Christian the first step in asking for help to survive on current issuesgoing on in your life. Lord please grants me the peace of mind and the serenity to live my life in accordance of God...

On an episode on Good Times, JJwanted to understand what it meant to be white as opposed to being black. JJ had lived this image for one day and he learned it is different. While a black can not rub the black off his skin, it is a determining factor of how you look at life. Some

people want to see segregation in society thinking the new era will change how it is perceived. Some may go to segregated colleges based on what they are they would identify and socialize better at a black college. While some may adjust well going to an integrated college. There is no difference in education. At black college; other minorities such as Jewsmay attend the school for profiling. The struggle to complete college is the same. Some men go to college just to join a fraternity for re pore. Some may pick a college by determining their activity and sports team that draws them to an education wishing they could take it back. Clarence Thomas rationalizes that there is no need for affirmative action. It is his belief that it only applies to the affluent in politics. It is where the privileged are attained to rights that lower class would not have the support. I would explain to Thomas that there is a need for poor to seek equal representation. That the affluent may have a better education and resources but that is a deterrent to the poor with poor resources that are deceived through profiling police. I would state that the poor may result belittling endeavors due to the upbringing of them that led them astray. That they need a second chance, prayer and hope to other outlets. It is where they need role

models in the church and schools or leading groups like fraternities to let them know their is a possibility to getting out the hood to being successful. There is hope of being ex-gang members to being affluent role models. Black should not be deceived where discrimination becomesan ailment to telling the poor they do not count and they should not have a voice. Education should open the door to opportunity to advance. Not all blacks who attend college are socializing. Someblacks are there to better themselves becausethey know regardless of background there is a chance to receive an education that can get them a better job. I went to parochial school. My school was small. Everyone knew each other. Attending parochial school was a privilege that not all encounter. It set a set of rules that are different than public school students. BecauseI had the background of being in classwith prodomitely white I view things differently. Without the education of being in advanced classeswith predominantly white, I would not survive college as I have. I have been confronted with the competition all my life.

No race, color, ethnicity or gender should be a dividing factor of selection that is granted the right to enter college, while there are so many dividing factors that discriminate on this basis. Why should black athletes enter a college based on race? Why should men be encouraged to be better in Math and Science than women? Why is the population of women graduates higher than men? Why should the population of ethnicity divide races on campus? Is any of this justification of why things are the way they are? Are poor people deficient in entering college based on their learning disabilities? How many college graduates are mentally handicapped? Do we divide the blind and physically handicapped as being socially disordered? Should any of these things dividing barriers in college entrance? No one should be discriminate against period. Many of these factors make college life more interesting. It

becomes a challenge when students compete for college academics. With more competition, it raises the status quo of the college. Students should be allowed in college if they meet the standards for entering school. This is determined by GPA and by meeting the standards of admissions. It would be fulfilling to find an athlete who can compete academically, to find women interested in math and science, to find more male applicants to finish school, to find college academics integrated and to find people with disabilities able to master academics.

The "N" word is not appropriate use in society today. The "N" word is defined by Webster's dictionary as a poor, uneducated black man. It should not be used by black people or others. It is a derogatory word that misrepresents the black race. It derivation came from the time of slavery and has carried on to be used openly amongst black people to refereed to in jokingly manner.

Blacks use it to signify justification. Someblacks acknowledge its use as inflammatory. The "N" word is used in music and the movies in that everyone should relate to the word and to know its intentions. If derogatory words such as the "H" word or the "P" word or other inflammatory words are not acceptable use in society black should feel uncomfortable using the "N" word becauseit refers back to slavery.

Because I was born in 1969, after Civil Rights died, some people feel that I never experienced racism like they knew it being from that era. I was born in Meridian, Mississippi from two school teachers down south country. My heritage implies that my ancestors were slaves; but I am part Choctaw Indian, Hispanic Indian and African. I am very much an American of middle class decent.

Segregation of schools was not effective in Las Vegas until the late 70's. I was the first black/AfricanAmerican student who entered a parochial elementary school. I was the first black-American, poor that the school asked to be a Junior Alpha-Beta Honor Society. There was a young black student who entered a parochial school named Angela who is reported missing according to the news of the 70's. I do not agree that since Civil Rights died so did the issues die as well. As more programs were made to help the movement the bar has been raised for many minorities. As being of Catholic faith, I have had confrontations outside my religious belief who beg to differ or confide within my moral faith. I have been threatened by non-Christians had rocks and eggs thrown at me because we were different. I was always called the blackest student of my class. I had slave-like skin pigment to most the class as they

refereed me. I felt that most the fair complexioned blacks had inferential treatment and was graded higher. My great-grandmother was a Black Indian Princess and from this I experienced hate threats from being in disbelief that I was different than all African ancestry. I had my door and garage door kicked in. I was called a whore for being biracial. My Catholic faith does not believe in prostitution. Some people thought I was oddity in that I did not communicate with others well. They felt I was trying to be better than they were. I believed in working hard for a good education. I felt studying was more important than getting involved with people who had been to juvenile hall, junkies, drug addicts or prostitutes. I was brought upon different moral than some people. I have never taken drugs like marijuana or cocaine. I never smoked cigarettes. I never believed in drinking alcohol. This behavior is different than most high school students and college

students I knew. I was different and did not fit in with the in-group. I was different because I was poor. Some people felt that because I was black and poor that I should fail out of high school and college to become a stripper or junkie on drugs. I stayed in college to study to become a college instructor instead. With my learning disability and mental disability, I faced many obstacles. It takes a lot of determination to want to strive to fight the decease to better myself. With medication, I have survived obstacles. Most Paranoid Schizophrenics are homeless living on the street. I am a survivor. Poetry

I would sail around the world to the depth of the ocean We would enjoy the ride If your dream were to fight for life I would challenge death To console your soul with prayer To do what is right If your dream were to be rich I would empower your self esteem And be an anchor to your dream If your dream were to be a soldier I would be your Sergeant at arms Protecting you from your enemy Guiding you from harm

If you dream were to find fame I would attract popularity With gainful employment With fame and popularity the same If your dream were to find peace I would give you my soul We would be in this together Through rich or through poor If your dream were to find charity I would give you my heart Or love would be forever From sickness and health do we part? If I could answer your prayer I would give you my faith

Through all hope Love will give or take If man can dream I would be your counterpart To love, to hold, to Cherish Forever love, forever love, forever love XO

My heart wonders around inside my soul Dwindling the pain of loss Dwindling hurt emotions of failure Dwindling remorse from the present and the past Dwindling time as time passes Not a day without wonder of

Who I am what I am worth or if There is a possibility of hope My life endures pain Waiting for the pain to go away, go away My heart dwindling the pain to go away Heartbreak voices surround inside my mind Will not let go, dwindling away time My heart that wonders inside my soul The feelings of loved ones Carries my soul forever intentions To live as long as love lives My heart wonders around inside my soul Inside my soul Inside my soul

Dwindling the pain of loss and failure No remorse, no presence a past Dwindling time as it passes by I sit in wonder why I live this choice It is God's decision for me to live Inside my soul, I pray Thank you oh Lord For life

Refrain: I believe in miracles I believe in dreams I lift my voice To be heard

Heaven only knows what I feel I believe I believe 1. Chorus: I believe in a celestial of stars Dancing in heaven above I believe in showers falling down on me Is a sign of love, a sign of love? I believe Chorus: I believe in family helping one another Even in times most need be I believe in miracles I believe in being friends I believe in you and me

Chorus: I believe in the Lord Having a helping hand Always listening to our call To deliver us from the bad I believe in the cause To surrender love effortlessly I believe in God I believe in miracles All hope foresees I believe I believe Chorus: When I was in doubt, in doubt

I felt the pain, a special healing To deliver me from death and destitution To a place where a rock lies God answered my prayers, he delivered me When I failed to pray I walked a lonely road God carried me; he delivered me and is free You see I was never alone, he cares, oh yes he cares When I was in doubt Faith led my way, I was never alone I followed his word, yes his holy word And I was healed, I believe in miracles I believe in love I believe in guidance

Yes, Lord I believe in you

A dream falters into a Somber whisper. It becomes easy to make Aspirations than to make it A reality. Become careful of What you ask for, for tomorrow Is never promised.

Dream of the day I would come to say it is not just another day I would say safely from return Of delusion, illusion and allusion

I would reminisce of high grandiose Doing things unmanageable things Of being a star athlete, a writer and pageantry I dream of the day Where I could say What I did was of today I would live my life Where my present in my daily life Was a daily chore full of ambition? Full of glamour I would be thankful I could help someone Or do a good deed where my past meant no more And my past was not just a dream I dream of the day

I would come to say It is not just another day It is not a dream I would return safely from Delusion, illusion and allusion Where acts of kindness Were a cliquey I would dream of what I could do now Now is all that really matters I could be me If my life were not a dream I would be me

Think I want to run away

To a better state of mind I think my life has to find A piece of mind If only I could stay I think I want to run away, Run away, run away To capture meaning Of what I can not grasp The meaning of being grown And on my own To find a piece of mind A better state of mind At piece with who I am What I have become To find meaning of love forward life

Run away, run away, run away To capture the meaning of life If I run away It will be another day In any way I can not stay I'll just run away To capture meaning Of being grown Deny all ethics Of staying alive Life will have new meaning I will find love I will run away

I will run away Run away, run away, run away And find love

Paranoia Schizophrenia 1. I hear the voices everywhere Through every source The television and radio By campus, travel and shopping I hear the voices talking to me

Anticipating the will to do wrong Finding fault of my present and past I hear the voices talking to me Knowing everything about me Detail for detail saying things That hurt, make me cry and scream I hear the voices in my head Voices that say I am unhealthy Voices that question that I steal Voices that say I cheat Voices that threaten me and my family I hear voice, the voices in my head That tells me to back off That tells me to quit

Conversing back and forth with a voice Talking to God, "God bless the meek and humble" "As I walk through the valley of fire, I hear no evil, I feel no evil, and I fear no evil" The voices state I will remain innocent The voices are in a confrontation with God God protects me from sin, the voices I hear voices in my head that are delusions From a past that does not exist I hear the voices conversion I hear the voices that say "Do not give up." The voices follow me everywhere They are desperate trying to acquit me

I pray each day for forgiveness a promise I will do better Hoping some day the voices will get to Know me and stop their voices

It is bad enough I had to say good buy To find you so fly Of all the alibis Now I am all alone and confused Wondering who’s next to fit your shoes There may not be another Just like you What else am I to do? Sending shouts out to yesterday

I am left cold, no way I am all alone I am all alone My life's in fear I will always be alone, in tears No one but no one can make it alone All alone without a friend To talk to, hang out and live in sin Why oh why, does it have to be this way Could we not just be friends, I am afraid To be without you...sad For what we had was true A new beginning, is what is life about I will have to take another route

To comfort, to love another like me If you were not so permissive We would see it is not working from you to me I am alone All alone I am alone

Abandoning interest to pursue life's conquest Through the humility to change ideas Is human evolution and spiritual inquiry

Once dreamed of human evolution It is a world that created opportunity for man 1. Where equality of every man was probable

It is a world where technology was possible to every man I once dreamed of human mobility It is a world where education did not discriminate Where the state of man was comparable It is a world where health care is inevitable I once dreamed of peace It is a world where we solved problems through minds not killings Where is a world ridden of poverty? It is a world free of hatred and denial A world free of sin

Deep down in the heart of me

There is something disturbing inside The image in ME must confide Miss notion not to be 1. My heart is yours You carry my soul You carry my soul You carry my soul To serenity, to love, to unfold My heart is yours Forever to console My heart is yours I am broken for our love It figures our emotions would distant Our feelings no longer consistent

Leaving it up to God above There is no resolution What we had is left a memory Now alone in solitary We had to part as the only solution My heart is yours You carry my soul You carry my soul You carry my soul To serenity, to love, to unfold My heart is yours Forever to console my heart is yours Can not I reminisce over you? You took my broken heart for granted

To have my only true love abandoned Love is only you, you, only you My heart is yours You carry my soul You carry my soul You carry my soul To serenity, to love, to unfold My heart is yours Forever to console My heart is yours I picture us once more Enveloped in admiration Your healing touch full of compassion Info actuation, love will soar

Let us fly together Flying high above the heaven Leaving regrets behind Let us fly together I am yours And you are mine My heart is yours You carry my soul You carry my soul You carry my soul To serenity, to love, to unfold My heart is yours Forever to console My heart is yours

State of mind Contrary to what is said A delusional hatred To be mistaken for love Voices. Voices that welcome madness Immoral words that imitate denial and bigotry Words used to break you down Rob you; make you a criminal of self thought Was that what I thought you said? A blind man relies on touch A sane man on logic Delusional voices that make me mad

That make me sad, that make me want to fight back To defend my youth, defend my cultural heritage Where prejudice has no warrant Spoken words, only justifies reasons to be misunderstood I will not be judged or profiled or prejudged by fault only credibility For I too am America
