Explanation: The direction of water flow indidcates the ideal location for a wetland design. The soils indicates the capacity of water intake for that location. This information provides input on a ideal location for a wetland that will provide opportunities for connectivity, social interaction, education, and enhance connections with natural systems.

quercus agrifolia

+ Inspiration

hand sketch outline

To create a sense of community within the camp by embracing ideas from the native Chumash Culture which incorporates both natural and cultural elements. A common tree that the Chumash used is the oak tree, Quercus Agrifolia, for their acorns. Therefore, I got the inspiration to design the pathways for the wetland based on the tree’s intricate forms.

set design

One of my interest is film, mainly production design. I enrolled in a tv production class over summer. I was the set designer for a live music recording video. The set is made out of trace paper rolled in a cylinder hanged with clear thread on a hanger. With the coordination of the lighting designer, the set’s vision became a reality.
