Andys Skordis Bio: Andys Skordis was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1983. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in Composition and in Film Scoring in 2007 and gained his Masterâ€™s degree in Composition in 2011 from the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam. Additionally, he studied Karnatic music, and Balinese Gamelan at ISI Denpasar. Andys has composed more than 50 works including operas, orchestral and chamber music, oratorios, gamelan pieces and music for dance and short films. His music has been performed in Europe, America and Asia, and has been awarded with prizes such as the BUMA Toonzetters prize in 2012, the 1st and 2nd prizes from Cyprus Symphony Orchestra in 2013 and 2011, the prize at the International competition for piano quintet in 2016, and more. Andys music finds inspiration in the primordial human nature, in ceremonial and mystical rituals from the world and from his personal experiences.
