On August 16 Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the Key to NYC vaccination mandate for indoor entertainment, recreation, dining and fitness settings. These entities must develop and keep a written record describing the entity’s protocol for implementing and enforcing these requirements. They should also post a sign —like the one above— in a conspicuous place that is viewable by prospective patrons prior to entering the establishment. Enforcement will begin, with a multi-agency coalition, on September 13. Penalties for failure to comply start at $1,000 and can reach $5,000 for repeated violators.
