You can easily find a renowned swimming school in Eastern Suburbs whether you want to enroll your child or are interested in learning some new strokes. It is very important to teach your children how to swim for several reasons. Firstly, it keeps them physically active and they have an activity to look forward to after a hectic day at school. Secondly, it is a good sport that children can learn at an early age. It also helps in building self-confidence and improving their motor skills. They can opt for joining swimming later on, as a hobby too. So, you cannot deny the important of swimming lessons. Some people believe in putting their kids to swimming school when they are still infants because this is a skill they would remember for the rest of their lives. Swimming lessons are not only restricted to children, adults can also learn or revise their strokes at any point in their life. It is to their choice if they would like to join sessions with their kids or separately.

When you enroll into a swimming school, following are the basic strokes that you are taught and enable you in becoming a confident swimmer: The first step is to make the beginner used to the water and feel comfortable moving around freely. He is only allowed to move in the shallow side of the pool in order to stay safe from drowning. A swimming school must have a life guard present at all times. So unless the beginner is not comfortable with the water, the instructor does not move to teaching a stroke. The Basics- Crawl The most common way to swim is the crawl. A swimmer needs to kick his legs in a flutter kick while scooping their arms through the water to move them forward. The crawl is usually used during a freestyle swimming session. However, during freestyle swimming the swimmer can use any stroke at all. The butterfly stroke: The butterfly stroke is used by people who like to swim in speed and power. During this stroke, the swimmer’s arms, shoulders, head and part of the chest are outside the water while legs stay close while performing the kick. Coordination of these movements is a difficult one and is not taught to infants. When children reach at advanced levels, this stroke is then added to their lessons. The Backstroke: Just like the crawl, backstroke is an easy to learn stroke and children like it because the face is outside the water during this stroke is performed. Swimmers float on their backs while performing a flutter kick just below the surface of water. It is a bit difficult to swim in a straight line as you need to pay attention to pool lanes. This is a stroke that can be learnt after the swimmer is expert in performing crawl. The backstroke is advised to many athletes and cyclists as it is good for coping with hip abductor injuries. The movement during backstroke strengthens the muscles which are damaged during cycling or other sport activities. The Breast stroke: It is also a difficult and advanced level stroke that a swimmer needs to learn. The swimmer needs to focus more on reducing the drag and streamline the strokes during performing the stroke that happens below water. Swimmers need to remember this detail in order to perform the stroke correctly. The proper movement of lower body is important in this stroke and a frog kick move is necessary to move through the water easily. These are the basic swimming strokes that a swimmer can learn at a swimming school, but if you are looking forward to learning more you can ask the school if they offer any further lessons. When looking for a school you need to check if they have trained and certified trainers. It would be a plus point if the instructor has been an active swimmer at a local club or a member of the swimming federation. This provides you with confidence that you are in safe hands and that you will be taught in the most efficient manner. Checking their schedule is necessary here, so that you can adjust according to your child’s

school timings or your work timings if you are looking forward to joining the lessons too. All these tips will help you locating the right place for you or your child. Once you have found the school, you also need to ascertain how far it is from your place and how much time would it consume to reach there because you do not want it to clash with your child’s routine.
