Westbrook Christian An Open Letter to Parents Concerned about their Children If you are concerned about the experiences your child is having at school, you are not alone. Sending your child to school every day is a difficult job for any parent, but especially hard when you feel your child is not thriving. You want what is best for your child, but nothing is more important to your child’s future than his or her education. No school is right for every child. The ideal school would take your child’s individual strengths – the God-given gifts that make your child unique – and nurture those strengths. There are excellent schools out there, both public and private. There are countless teachers working relentlessly to develop character and values in their students. There are even some schools working to put spiritual formation back in the educational system. But how do you find the right school for your child? It is not as difficult as you might fear. First, we suggest you ask questions and then visit promising schools personally. It is important to experience first-hand what makes a school distinct. At Westbrook Christian School, we are committed to equipping each child with the tools they need to fully experience the joys of discovery and to successfully face the challenges of growing academically and spiritually. It comes to life in such things as:

• A comprehensive, Christ-centered approach that nurtures the mind, body, and soul of your child. • A small class size where teachers understand your child’s specific strengths, weaknesses and learning styles. We provide the structure needed to maximize his or her potential. • A strong internal structure that helps your child grow confidently under the guidance of loving, gifted mentors and approachable administrators. Bullying occurs everywhere. But, it is an issue that we are actively addressing. Since safety is a growing concern, we’ve worked diligently to build an environment where students are secure and taught appropriate conflict management. We recognize that Westbrook Christian is not appropriate for every child, but we may be exactly what your child needs to make the most of this life.
