I.

Visual sytem project created for Brandblack. I designed their campaign based on the brand’s mission statement to fuse the aesthetic sensibility of high fashion with the most advanced technology in the industry.

Brandblack is an upcoming basketball shoe brand based in Los Angeles, California. They differentiate themselves with their aesthetics and advanced technology. I took an inspiration from thermal camera and further developed it as the visual system. The art direction features combination of vibrant and primary colors that signify heat seen from a thermal camera. The photography used is meant to highlight their unique aesthetic.

II.

Visual system project for a typography conference about past and future developments of typography usage as a part of human linguistics.

The primary objective of the conference is to celebrate our typographical achievements in the past centuries, and to discuss the future advancement in many typographical usage through various mediums. The visual system and editorials took direct inspiration from the evolution of typography. Starting from the earliest Guttenberg’s Bible to the advancement of current digital screen typefaces. The visual language utilizes old style type set alignment and digital aspects of the current screen based typography.

III.

Packaging project for a wine brand and packaging. The project consisted of two lower price bottles and one higher price bottle. I conceptualized the idea of seeing wine as an art form.

Pathos is a conceptual wine label. The brand believes wine itself is a form of art, that every glass is full of emotions that translate into thoughts for the one who drinks it. I regenerated well known classical paintings, each painting chosen was based on a different era and mood to correspond with each bottle. The bright and vibrant color palette were utilized for the lower price point. The darker color palette and complimentary wooden case were designed for a higher price point collectible item.

Self-initiated project based on the recent endorsement contract Nike made with Giannis Antetokounmpo. I conceptualize the possible identity system for his line.

Giannis Antetokuonmpo emerged as the NBA’s MVP candidate at 23 years old. He is known as “The Greek Freak”, with his 6’11” body frame and 7’3” wingspan, Giannis is a freak of nature on the basketball court. With his reputation, Nike signed him for a long term contract that includes his own signature shoe deal. My design approach for his identity system revolves around the nature of his game. His brand is elevated with a bold monogram that is inspired by his slashing and physical style of play. The photography used is intended to be black and white, and grainy to intensify his athleticism.

Self-initiated project based on my interest in current athleisure trends. I observed and focused on how many women around the San Francisco Bay Area wear their leggings. My objective for this project is to create a women’s athleisure brand that fills the gap between fashion and functionality.

Pastelle is a women athleisure brand with an easy-going attitude that make athleisure for everyday activities. The brand targets the contemporary, active and creative women. I believe that everyone should be comfortable in their own skins, You Be You. The brand concept is inspired by the subtlest shades of colors, pastels. Like the calmness and muted of the color palette, the brand identity is intended to be modest.

line. In this six weeks project, I conceptualized a men’s skincare line based on the ancient city of Babylonia.

VI. The design approach for the packaging system was influenced from the materials that were used for the exterior of the city. The visual language used stone and wood elements to creates luxury across the packaging system.

Identity redesign project for Aventon Bike, includes a rejuvenated identity system and visual application for their product, campaign, and website.

Aventón Bikes is a young, entrepreneurial company with a mission to push bike technology and customization to a whole new level. The brand is missing its oppurtunity to showcase their potential, by not being consistent with their identity system. My design strategy to this problem is to rejuvenate the brand with a new consistent identity system. My approach was to look back on their history and apply their aesthetics into the visual language.

A collaborative project with Edeline Gosali to redesign identity system for Fillmore Social Club. We were intrigued by the possibilities of what the brand could have become if they were to position themselves with the current market trends.

Fillmore Social Club is a Korean-fusion restaurant located in the heart of Fillmore neighborhood. This welcoming bar and kitchen serve various Korean snacks, Asian-fusion combos, and playful cocktails. The place has opened for five months now, since December 2017. Yet it has not created a buzz and never had a waiting list during their brunch and dinner hours. Our strategy is to position the brand to appeal to the millennials. The visual language was set to be modern and welcoming.
