SAUG SUMMIT 2012 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Opening Address: The Nature of Success Ian Schubach, Co-Founder, Peak Performance Africa contains some of the most complex and competitive ecosystems on the planet. The animals that live within this ecosystem are subject to rapid change and intense competition. In The Nature of Success, Ian explores how business teams can learn from the behaviours and characteristics of four iconic African animals to create sustained success in difficult environments. Ian spent many years as a game ranger in Southern Africa, studying animals and their behaviours in detail. He identified that each species has developed a competitive advantage that allows them to thrive in even the most hostile conditions. Linking this to the business world, Ian combines personal stories with spectacular images to introduce each of the animals and their competitive advantage: Lion: Teamwork Giraffe: Leadership Leopard: Adaptation Elephant: Communication

Keynote 1: Fortescue’s Future and Culture Vito Forte, CIO, Fortescue Metals Group Located in the iron ore rich Pilbara region of Western Australia with close proximity to Asia and India, Fortescue is the world’s fourth largest iron ore producer. Fortescue has an enviable record of rapidly bringing new projects online and is continuing to unlock the significant potential of the Pilbara’s vast resources. Over the next two years, Fortescue will triple in size, increasing iron ore exports by 180 per cent. Fortescue continues to drive outcomes that seem too impossible within an industry that has history of long lead times to market. How do they do it? Fortescue believes deeply in its culture and drives determination and effort from its staff, community and partners. In this keynote, Vito will cover the continuing challenges faced by Fortescue and provide some insight into how it intends to exceed all expectations. 10

SAUG SUMMIT 2012 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Keynote 2: Spotless Facility and Food-Service Management Group Reinvents Operating Model with Tata ConsultANCY Services (TCS) Anthony Stevens, CIO, Spotless Group Co-presenter: Akhilesh Tiwari, Global Head SAP Delivery and Presales, Tata Consultancy Services The diverse commercial services market is rapidly expanding, but existing ERP solutions don’t meet the complexity or breadth of its business requirements. Spotless Group turned to TCS for a unique SAP implementation to redesign its operating model, enabling enterprise transformation and viable growth strategies. Spotless is an international services company specialising in outsourced facility management with revenues of $2.8 billion, 40,000 employees and operations in 32 countries.

Keynote 3: From Transactions To Engagement – The Shift In Business Design Ray Wang, Principal Analyst and CEO, Constellation Research Group (USA) Mobile enterprise, social business, cloud computing, advanced analytics, and unified communications are converging. Armed with the art of the possible, innovators are seeking to apply disruptive consumer technologies to enterprise class uses — call it the consumerisation of IT in the enterprise. The likely results include new methods of furthering relationships, crafting longer term engagement, and creating transformational business models. It’s part of a shift from transactional systems to engagement systems. These transactional systems have been around since the 1950s. You know them as ERP, finance and accounting systems, or even payroll. These systems are designed for massive computational scale; users find them rigid and techie. Meanwhile, we’ve moved to new engagement systems such as Facebook and Twitter in the consumer world. The rich usability and intuitive design reflect how users want to work – and now users are coming to expect the same paradigms and designs in their enterprise world. Find out what the big shift means for your enterprise. Ray is the author of the popular enterprise software blog “A Software Insider’s Point of View” and a regular contributor at Forbes CIO Central and Harvard Business Review.

SAUG SUMMIT 2012 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Keynote 4: Super Retail Group HANA Business Intelligence (BI) Story Alan Hesketh, General Manager – Group Information Services, Super Retail Group (SRG) Super Retail Group is a specialty retailer focused on providing its customers with products and services that they use in their leisure time. With three divisions covering auto, outdoor activities and sports products and services, the group offers a very broad product range across a group network of almost 600 stores. With customer preferences changing on how they shop, the products they choose and the amount they spend, SRG is focused on helping the customer shop in the way that they want. This increasingly complex multichannel environment requires much better visibility of what is occurring within the business in much shorter time frames, meaning near-real-time information is becoming more important for our team. In this keynote, Alan will discuss the key criteria that lead to the selection of SAP’s HANA database and the lessons learnt so far in HANA’s on-going implementation as the platform for the Group’s Data Analytics Environment to meet this near-real-time need.

Keynote 5: CoIT – How shadow IT and traditional IT can succeed together Ben Haines, CIO, Pabst Brewing Company (USA) The consumerisation of IT (CoIT) is putting many new demands on the traditional IT environment. A lot of the time it materialises as shadow IT within our organisations. We need to embrace it and work with it to ensure we are delivering the services our customers expect. As CIO for the iconic Pabst Brewing Company, Ben is responsible for the overall IT strategy and execution. Keeping a very close eye on emerging technology and the changing technology landscape, he is determined to ensure that IT is innovating and providing business value in the most effective and efficient way possible. Prior to joining Pabst, Ben spent 9 years with Red Bull leading teams across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. With a grounding in IT hardware and service delivery, he quickly moved into the application and business intelligence space delivering multiple mobile applications, a global portal for 10,000 users in 61 countries and a collaboration platform.

Let me Reintroduce you to the ICF Graham Robinson, SAP Mentor and Founder, Yelcho Systems Consulting The SAP Internet Communications Framework (ICF) has been available since the very first NetWeaver ABAP release over 10 years ago and facilitates the vital role of communicating with the SAP system using Internet standard protocols. Despite this, many people do not fully understand the capabilities of the ICF or the options available when building internet services like web pages, web services, email services, etc. Perhaps your only exposure to the ICF has been through ITS, WebGUI or CRM UI applications? If you wish to better understand what the ICF can do, or if you have discounted the value of the ICF in the past, this is a great opportunity to revisit this incredibly important piece of enablement technology. Project managers, architects and developers can all benefit from this session that will be packed full of demos, ideas and experiences. Level: User and Technical 22

SAUG SUMMIT 2012 BREAKOUT SESSIONS Session 21 Your partner in home grown innovation – SAP Custom Development Rajnish Prasad, Vice President and Head of Custom Development Execution – APJ, SAPLabs India Chris Peck, Head of SAP Custom Development, SAP Australia New Zealand We often talk of innovations and best practices within our organisations, and we expect an “outsider” to bring it to us/show us/tell us. Yet, when we hear all the experts, we also realise that certain aspects of our businesses are unique. They are not there in any software, and no business has ever done this before. What do we do then? We start “tweaking around” with what we have purchased, on a technology and platform which has taken forty years for SAP to evolve. If you are keen to know how you can continue to innovate “in-house” and stay differentiated and ahead from your competition, with professionals who do nothing else but do “differentiated innovations”, then this session is considered mandatory. Smarter computing builds a smarter planet:

Bringing smarter computing to big data. 90% of the data in the world today has been created in the last two years alone. Just as data is increasing, so are the possibilities. We now have the capacity to understand, with greater precision, how our world actually works. Advanced technologies such as stream computing, can filter gigabytes of data per second, analyse these while they’re still in motion and decide on the appropriate action for the data, such as real-time alerts or store an insight in a data warehouse for later analysis. Continuously analysed data can help organisations be what they want to be. From farmlands and universities, to hospitals and large corporations, these organisations are empowered to make better informed decisions, which helps them increase revenue and reduce operation costs. THE CLEVER AUSTRALIAN 48 years ago Professor Donald Horne, perhaps our most widely respected public intellectual, dubbed us “The Lucky Country”. He didn’t mean it as a compliment. He meant that Australia’s wealth relied on nature’s gifts, rather than the enterprise of its people. But we’ve been busy. In recent decades Australia has achieved countless world firsts in the field of technology alone, and now we’d like to talk about what your business could accomplish.
